But if you're used to suburban TJs, you'd find this store cramped with minimal aisle space. (As we all know, 'location, location.') I like that there are plenty of cashiers -- check-out is generally quick and organized -- AND that Marshalls is located in the same building. Take the escalator up to TJ Maxx, and down to Marshalls. A few weeks ago I chatted with a fashion merchandiser who mentioned all the lines and stores her company services. When she included TJ Maxx, I said I was surprised. "Don't they get surplus from other stores to discount what hasn't been sold?" "Not necessarily," she replied. "That's what they want you to think!" Hmmm.... doesn't make a difference to me, but I thought it interesting that they have their own lines under different labels.

Moving along, went to the store on a busy Saturday afternoon, and there was indeed a great selection of clothes that i was in search of. The downside is that the dressing rooms don't have a seat inside and due to a knee injury i had to wait a long time for the only stall to become available. The dressing room area is extremely busy and the staff appeared overwhelm with the consumption of clothes left behind by customers. The space in the store is good, nothing appears cluttered or scattered and the floors are kept clean. Needed to use the restroom and that is also an area that only has one per gender and the lines become a bit much. Due to the restrooms overuse it definitely requires additional cleaning to maintain it clean and stocked with toiletries. Overall ok experience, I was not asked if I needed assistance by a staff member.

The situation to enter is also quite strange. Security stands there and ropes off this area that we have to stand in. I'm not sure what they're monitoring but the guard checks something and then opens the ropes to let you in. The only fitting room available is on the ground floor and the women's clothes/dresses I was looking at was all the way on the top most floor. This made getting between floors time consuming and when you're carrying a lot of clothes in your arms, it's tiring to navigate and to go up and down. The store feels empty at first glance but then when you make your way to check out, there's a line of like 20 people and 2 cashiers working, even though they area has about 8-10 registers. The wait can get quite long. I was in a hurry once and after finding what I needed, I just couldn't wait the long line to purchase my items and just had to abandon them to make my next appointment.

I must admit Nordstrom organizes their jewelry well. All the boxes were neatly displayed on their shelves. Just the bad thing is the top shelf is very high and you need assistance or a ladder to look at them so that sucks. This is one of the most organized stores ever with all the accessories lined up and stored in an orderly fashion. There are rarely any loose accessories or misplaced product in the store.
