I always stop here when I am in NYC. This store has some unique things I will never see at their Florida stores. I love the selection. I know the last time I was here, they seemed to have not many sizes for tops I was interested in. That was frustrating because I wasn't sure of my size. Sometimes I am between sizes. So I had to order two sizes of each item...have them delivered home and then return what did not fit. This is tedious. Anyway, their beauty section is also really good. I love the brands and how I can try on what I would like. So many brands of petfume that are not mainstream. I love that. I also love their shoe department. There is definitely something for everyone here. read more

They seem to have a way better selection than when I was here last. I really do like their section for women and now they carry some tennis/pickleball clothes (which is my fav). I like the feel of this store because it feels as if there is more attention paid to you by the employees here just because of the size of the store. I can't believe they are celebrating their 20th year at this location! Store is not as crowded as the 59th street store so you can look quickly and if they don't have it, they can ship it to you. Bloomingdales in SOHO is always a must. Naturally my review and photos appear to be missing. I can't believe how many times I've been shopping at this location. I've always been a fan of the shoe department. In fact I purchased these leather shoes here and paid full price. I've got a weakness for leather shoes and bags. I think these shoes are Born Brand. I'm hoping I learned my lesson. Every time I wear these I end up with a blister on one of my toes. I've tried having them stretched and that didn't help. Yes Bloomingdales has quality shoes but don't buy them if you think you'll break them in with wear. They broke my wallet and my toes. I'm recommending this Bloomingdales. Been in this Bloomingdale's a couple of times and bought a large navy Longchamp le pliage purse online. I did pickup order and the order was ready in no time. Good thing the online pickup order was nearby the entrance so you can come and go quick. Service was fast and the staff got my order ready and gave it to me. You can't have a shopping day in SoHo without a visit to the staple Bloomingdale's SoHo location. Shopping in SoHo is a quintessential NYC experience. You'll find super-luxe brands like Moncler, LV, and Chanel, but also indie shops and tiny hole-in-the-wall boutiques that don't look like much from the outside. Regardless of which is your taste, a visit to Bloomingdale's is a must. This store is much smaller than the flagship, but still has all of the loved brands (maybe just a smaller selection of products). When friends or family visit NYC and ask to go shopping, this is one of my go-to recommendations. Crowds can be hectic during sales, but a little patience goes long way and the experience is worth it. read more

So interesting to see another pregnant woman's poor experience here was similar to mine. TBF, who knows if it's because the customer service would be really poor anyway? Every single employee I interacted with, from the fragrance lady on the first floor to the staff on the third floor, was the complete opposite of helpful or approachable in every way. It's actually unclear to me what they're there for besides working the register. Need maternity clothes? Nah, that's at the other Bloomingdale's fifty blocks from here. Ok, how about just big flowy dresses? Nope, we don't have those. (Huh??) and they actually did have some decent flowy dresses when I looked more closely! Need a fitting room? Oh, the rooms are gross and overflowing with the day's clothes? Not our problem, we just work here! I would have stayed longer and probably bought something if not for these off putting interactions. Anyway, the only saving grace here would be the public restrooms on the third and fifth floors. Otherwise, not worth a visit at all. read more

I just love this store. I've always loved this store. It's like high end fashion without schlepping uptown. Every floor is unique and has something for everyone. I even like the displays. I love the little cafe in the back, which is cozy and a nice respite on a sunny day or weekend foot rest. You can also exit onto Crosby street to avoid the crowds on Broadway. Maybe I'm spoiled to the only other Bloomingdales I shopped at in the Washington DC area while on vacation but this one is awful. Coming home and shopping (or trying to) here made me realize just how bad it is. So let's break it down. Plus one star because I can't rate it zero and also because there's a public restroom. I came here two days in a row. I am getting ready to have a baby in two months and wanted to shop for new clothing for afterwards, and also some makeup. The first day I walked in, no one greeted me, no one offered help. I had to track someone down to pay for a scarf I wanted, checkout not friendly. Attempted to purchase some makeup but was ignored by all sales women. Even while browsing RIGHT NEXT TO the sales person. Never felt more invisible. I had a full face on so not sure what the issue was there. The second day I walked in, at least I was greeted by the door man, he was the nicest person in the premises. Given plenty of dirty snooty looks by the workers on several floors. So I just used the restroom and left. Maybe they think I'm not good enough to shop there because they assume I'm too big to fit in the clothing. (Honestly at 7 months pregnant I wouldn't even step in here to use their restrooms if I didn't have to. which is their ONLY purpose to me at this point while shopping in soho) Two times is enough. I'll get my makeup from places that actually want to sell to me. My clothing too. Keep in mind, pregnant women aren't in maternity clothing forever. read more

Today I had a 1-star shopping experience at Bloomingdales Soho that was made better by another salesman just as I was leaving the store. I purchased a handbag on the second floor. The salesman who rang up the bag had an attitude. He sloppily wrapped the purse in tissue paper (even I could do a better job) and when I told him it was a gift and asked for it to be wrapped, he didn't do so, he just gave me a folded up box. Before leaving the store I stopped in the cosmetics department to put the bag in the box. Another Bloomingdales employee, James Fackrell, saw me struggling to assemble the box and asked if I needed help. He told me the salesman on the second floor had given me two box lids rather than a bottom and top set and that's why I was having trouble. He then wrapped the present beautifully with folded tissue paper and a shiny ribbon. He didn't even work in the handbag department but he went out of his way to help a customer. You get what you pay for and hence Bloomingdales is a 4 star shopping experience. A 5 star shopping experience would be Bergdorf's. I like the Soho boutique Bloomingdales because it is smaller and less overwhelming. The sales people are pretty nice and kind of helpful almost always here. There is a cell phone charging station FYI on 2 in the cafe. You can safely charge and retrieve your phone without hassle. It was nice and convenient to be able to pee on 3 and come back and get my juiced up iPhone. The fitting rooms are hooked up too. While trying on a blouse for my daughter I noticed that the shirt was displayed on the screen with size, color and availability options. What the what? How do they do that? Is there a camera or is it from the tag? I just can't keep up! What will they think of next? read more

This Bloomingdale's has a lot of different brands but limited selection in each one. They have a digital directory on each floor by the escalators which could be more helpful if it displayed by default what each floor was so you didn't have to walk up to one each time. I was just browsing casually and I felt like I got a lot of stares from employees that weren't really asking if I needed help, felt more like scrutiny. The one good thing is that since there are so different floors and things to see, there are restrooms available and water fountains. read more

I was never a huge fan of the larger Bloomingdale's on 59th, but this location was a decent alternative. Now, it's definitely lower on the totem pole. I've shopped here a few times over the years but after my recent experience, it may very well be my last. I came in, last Saturday, to get a Canada Goose jacket; it's beyond frigid here, and I thought what the heck, I could use the coat. Here a play by play of my interaction: Myself: hello ma'am, do you have this black coat in a large? If not, do you have any in the back? Employee: no, this is all we have. However, we will have more on Wednesday. Here's my card, and you can call me to make sure they arrived. I called and Wednesday-- I'm informed the employee isn't there that day but the jackets hadn't arrived. Call back on Friday. Fridays Convo: Myself: hello, I'm the customer who came on Saturday for the Canada Goose, not sure if you remember me, but have the coats arrived? Employee: no, I don't remember but no, the coats aren't in stock. Myself: umm.. didn't you tell me on Wednesday you would have more in stock? Employee: please hold on.... (I wait about 3-5 minutes) Employee: no, I'm sorry we don't have. Also, we won't b receiving anymore this season... (begins to converse with fellow employee) Employee: yea, she just confirmed, we won't be getting anymore this season. Myself: ma'am, didn't you just tell me on Saturday that you would have this Wednesday? Employee: silence... sorry. Bloomingdale's Soho isn't your typical Bloomingdale's at most locations. This has more of a downtown feel. the building is an old factory and it's a little bit smaller and a lot cooler looking The restaurant upstairs has a lot of natural or vegetarian items and the clothes are a lot more hip with that New York downtown feel. It's clean and never over crowded. I think their shoe apartment is a little small but being that the store is smaller in general it's understandable they also have a counter that has gently used high-end items like Hermes handbags and watches. Also it seems the typical tourist that you see in the Bloomingdale's Soho location is European and not like the Cleveland Ohio folks that I'll go to 59th St. This Bloomingdale's gives you that little neighborhood feel still and not like a department store would. My husband bought me a beautiful gold necklace. It arrived damaged -- the felt package they snibbed the necklace into created crimps in the gold. I called and was told I could go to the Soho store for an exchange. I took an hour to bring it for the exchange and was told the other identical necklace was also damaged. They refunded the cost (tbc). What a total f'ing waste of time. Hey: don't sell damaged necklaces. Donkt sell them, don't ship them, don't keep them in stock. They also forgot to add in his note w the present -- just to make sure it was extra special. The woman I dealt w was fine and helpful and she explained that such a flat chain was going to get damaged -- anything will make it crimp. OK, but why package it in those tight slits in the felt then? And even more so, why sell it? And why not offer me something -- jeez anything -- to say they cocked up and wasted a lot of my time? They always have what I need. The store is always clean. The service is always fast. The staff always assist you with a smile. I was going on vacation and needed a sneaker to go with an outfit I had. Long story short I found it here after a long days journey and got it at a discounted price. More than half of the price it was listed for at every other store. I also met a NBA player sitting right outside the store. He plays for the Chicago Bulls team. His name is David Nwaba. I'm a huge basketball fan. This made my day. read more

I've been in here numerous times and was approached differently each time. Some employees give me attitude, but others treat me with respect. It's a huge department store with a lot of options, but it's more on the expensive side. On my most recent visit, a worker was very kind and friendly-- Paul. He helped me with finding the right shoe and sizing as well as accommodating to my requests. Unlike other workers, he didn't judge me for my age and gave me the same respect as he would to others. He handled the payment without me even needing to leave my seat. Amazing service from him!!! Amazing little 5 floor or so story building mid block in SoHo. I can't remember what this building once was... reminds me of the old Canal Jeans on Broadway way back. We don't shop at Bloomies often, but this scaled down Bendelsesque store had everything that we were looking for. The dress department is exceptional, after weeks of shopping for a June Prom dress, we could have easily taken home 4. There was a small 3 door dressing room right in the little department and the sales help was wonderful. On the way home we stopped into Macy's to see if they had a similar array of dresses and once again I was reminded how I absolutely hate walking into that store. I bought a Kiehls eye cream and went back for a price adjustment because the brand is having 25% off online and in store. They refused to adjust the price even though I just bought it and refused to take it back even though they said if it doesn't work out I can bring it back. Two words: PUBLIC BATHROOM. For whatever reason, most of the stores in SOHO don't offer a bathroom for their customers. Even if you shell out wallet-fulls of money. #Ridiculous. Poor Bloomies... every store refers their shoppers over to Bloomies to use the washroom. Bathrooms are not the newest or shiniest but they do a decent job cleaning up after everyone. They definitely smell a bit funky and are a one star bathroom compared to the Bloommie's bathroom in SF and Palo Alto but when you gotta pee in Soho... You gotta pee! A toilet is better than no toilet! Once you enter in, go down the stairs on the left, go past the Men's section and the hallway to the bathroom is on the left side halfway to the back of the store. Lots of changes here. We started out on the first floor this last time. We were there when the doors opened. My 20-something working girl daughter was looking for cologne. Counter person was not at all interested in assisting us. We asked for a sample, she pretty much brushed us off. She had purchased a beautiful dress for a wedding at the 3rd Ave/Lexington location, and she was looking for accessories and shoes. She was also looking for a few good buys. Staff is more interested in socializing with each other than actually selling to customers. The only exception was in the shoe department. The youngest salesperson in the building, a bright personable, young lady, was eager to help and knowledgeable about her products. She was the only one who approached us or offered to help. This used to be Canal Jeans *pours out liquid denim* I've been coming here ever since the most recent gentrification of Soho. Out with the old and affordable denim spots, in with the not really affordable clothing places. This Bloomies is smaller, but a little more approachable, it's Bloomies light. The first floor can be entered either on Broadway or on the cobblestoned Crosby street, each will put you in a desirous place of either makeup or sunglasses. You choose. The first floor is small, but never really crowded and things like makeup, fragrance, jewelry and sunglasses are easy to find. Most people come for the shoe section, which can be hit or miss. The salespeople who work here are the worst. They glaze past you as if you really aren't looking for anything and don't seem to really want to help. The sales are good, but the shoe section isn't that large and rarely do they have my size. This same floor is home to bridge designer handbags and also lingerie. They have a good selection of designers, but not everyone, as this is the smaller Bloomies. The other floors have pricey coats (seasonal) and dresses. If you know what you are looking for and a Bloomindale's fan, this might be the spot for you. One of the restrooms, located downstairs with the menswear and men's shoes is fantastic! read more

The service here is rude. I asked for a shoe to try on and the sales associates continued having a conversation. I just left her with the shoe to put back on display. I don't know if it's because I was dressed casually that they didn't want to help me. I don't know how I was supposed to dress, shorts shoes and sneakers in a heat wave but apparently it wasn't good enough. But once I got their attention they were great. 3 stars to the salespeople at free people, I had an experience where they were helpful, but still clueless, but mostly experiences where they just stare and are confused when I want to try clothes on in the dressing room or get my clothes they were holding for me. 2 stars to whomever designed this place, because it's terribly hard to get around and shop, how did they build a bloomingdales in the middle of soho and not make the floor plan available for more than one person to fit down an aisle at time? I went to help pick up cosmetics with my mom. there was no one at the counter. a super rude man from another counter came to get a quick sale (seems like they are on commission). he was irate that he could not find the items. he became obnoxious & dramatic when I asked for the manager and walked away with hilarious attitude. when we finally, after 15 minutes found a manager, she told us they were out of everything my mom wanted. no sales help, no product, almost no customers (what a surprise) and no more purchases from us there were a lot of ugly yellow tables and chairs outside the rear entrance that were empty; apparently bloomingdales soho is trying to run a sidewalk cafe even less successfully. read more

As opposed to the countless other associates who were too busy on their phones to greet me, let alone acknowledge me. There was a lovely woman working in the Reiss department, but it didn't get her name. Overall, i got a great product and i left satisfied. I love a good Bloomingdale's and the SoHo location is one of the best I've seen anywhere. It's big and well stocked with a good selection of contemporary brands. I wouldn't say anything Bloomingdale's carries is far from the mainstream, but if you're looking for anything by the likes of Vince, DVF, Elizabeth & James, etc., you'll find it here, and probably in your size. Bloomingdale's is always a great place to shop when they have any kind of event. I love the cash back event that happens now and then - you can get up to 25% off of retail on brand-new items. You also get 10-15% off your purchases if you open a Bloomingdale's card. Customer service here is pleasant and the changing rooms are big, with room to sit. I know there are Bloomingdale's everywhere, but I'd say this is a pretty good one. read more

I like to shop at bloomings. They have decent selections at the price that most people can afford. This location, like no others, provided the wide arrange of products that are suitable for almost everyone. The SoHo location is not as big as their 59th & Lex store. Due to its geographic location, they are targetting more towards younger crowd. More stylish products and individual /new inspirational designers product can be found here. The service from the staff, however, can be a bit lacking. Their attitudes are more "whatever" than other Bloomings but it does not really matter since I am fine shopping by myself.
