I confess sticker shock, except- there wasn't a price sticker on the one bag of treats I picked up. Chocolate covered honeycomb crisps- I used to love this treat from a local grocer back home- so I was excited to scoop those up. I also grabbed a brownie for my daughter in law and 3 cat shaped chocolate truffles. Total- $35. Woof. I knew the brownie was 5.99. I just paid and hoped everything tasted as good as the price indicated. The truffles were decadent, I took the honeycomb on my cruise as a sweet treat for the week & Sophie loved the brownie- so, kinda win. My other ding was the lack of customer service. There were a few of us in the shop, I just had one person ahead of me in line- but the cashier came off as bored. Hopefully it was a one off, for the tourist prices, you could be a bit hospitable. Outside seating was stunning, the gardens throughout this little shopping cove are gorgeous! Next time I'll just try one thing! read more

Absolutely loved this spot! I needed a sweet treat after lunch and Sweet Mona's had more than I could have ever hoped or asked for. There are tons of homemade goods from different local companies, but most are made in house. I love shopping local and was very happy to support them. I ended up getting a milk chocolate slug (so cute!), a snack sized fudge, and some assorted truffles. They also had baked goods, including some gluten free options. The owner was very kind and helpful and I appreciated her answering our questions and helping us make some hard decisions on what to get! We ended up taking our treats to go since it got kind of busy towards the end of our visit. I will be back soon! read more

We have been looking for good peanut brittle and found the best at Sweet Mona's. This is a mandatory stop every time we're on Whidbey Island. The sweets here are all made with good quality ingredients. The nuts are never stale, Mona doesn't cut corners. We hadn't been on the Island for a while so I ordered a few items and had them shipped. The packaging broke through shipping so I notified Mona. They were gifts and I wouldn't be able to give the sweets in that condition. She immediately sent a new order asap. I found this boutique on Yelp. Parking was available in the back area of the building as well as across the building. The boutique is very inviting. The outside is painted a bright yellow. They have tables and lounge chairs outside for people to eat after they shop. There are drinks, gelato, chocolates, and other sweets available. The inside has different areas of candy that is self-serve, some that are pre-packaged, and some that you have to order to be arranged. I asked for 6 different types of chocolate to make an assortment to try. I also got a mini lemon cake and a mini creme brulee. The weather was nice and fresh, so I tried some of the items outside. Overall, I had a good experience. The customer service was good and the sweets were delicious. I would love to come back in the future. read more

Can I just say how much I love this place please? We came back here twice on our 2.5 day stay on Whidbey Island, that's how much we loved it. It's in a cute little area, that was only a 2 minute walk from where we were staying. It's a very warm and inviting place honestly. They have good Covid protocols in place. The door is automatic, so you don't even have to touch the handle. There is hand sanitizer ready for you right outside the door and right inside the door. There are barriers as well around the cashier and front area. AND they also allowed dogs, which our corgi loved. They have a lot of good stuff. It was honestly hard making a decision on what to get. We got 2 blocks (the smaller ones) of fudge, one dark with walnuts for me, and one penuche for my husband. We also got a chocolate covered smores and a jar of strawberry jam. That fudge is FANTASTIC. I'm not big on fudge, but I could not stop eating it. My husband ate all of his penuche fudge. The smores was delicious, and I finished that in one sitting. Whoops. We ended up going back the next day and getting bigger slabs of fudge. My husband got more penuche fudge as well as vanilla. I got more dark chocolate fudge. We also ended up getting a jar of peach jam, a loganberry truffle, and a peanut butter cup. I loved the vanilla fudge. It had really good flavor. The loganberry was an interesting berry which I don't think I love, but that was on me, as I wasn't sure what loganberry tasted like. Everyone here was SUPER friendly as well. They were friendly and super helpful. They also had gelato, although it was a little too cold for us to want to get some. Sweet Mona's had the most amazing fudge and chocolate. I can't wait to come back here to get more, seriously though, that fudge is addictive. read more

This place is amazing! We stopped by our first day in Whidbey to pick up some sweet treats and had gotten the short bread cookie (literally the best cookie I've had) and freeze dried snicker bars. Our Airbnb host also had bought us the Valentine's Day truffles which we enjoyed trying, some were great and some were just okay (due to our preferences). However, we came back two days later to buy more freeze dried snickers, my partner almost ate the whole bag in a day. I bought the white chocolate lavender bar for myself, I'm excited to try and picked up tons of sweets for our family. We even tried the maple pecan ice cream. Cute candy shop specializing in chocolates right in downtown Langley. The store is fun and inviting and you can't help but check it out. We got some of the pre-packaged chocolates and at first I thought they were made there, but I think they are bought in bulk and placed in the bags. Sweet Mona's is a fun find in the heart of Langley, great for all ages! It's located in a cheery, bright yellow building and has a plethora of chocolate (and caramel) treats to choose from. The standout for me is the milk chocolate mocha, which might be the best mocha I've ever had! The only downside is the prices. Although there's a few affordable/reasonable options, most bags and boxes of treats cost a pretty penny. Still, worth it to support this lovely small business! read more

But that wasn't the worst part, Sweet Mona's, wasn't so sweet to my elderly mother, who suffered a stroke a about a year ago... My mother had made a purchase of Gelato and had put her spoon in her coat pocket while she was paying for it, so she was trying to get her spoon out when Mona approach her and started interrogating her if she had taken something... I was across the room eating my mediocre Crème Brûlée cheesecake (don't recommend it at all, lacked a good flavor and texture), had I known she was treating my mother with such abuse... outrageous! read more

A sweet savory shop tucked right in the town of Langley. There are lots of chocolates, ice cream and coffee/tea options. Grabbed their vanilla latte- it was not that great, the espresso got burnt a bit. Giving 4 stars for their good service, cute ambience and chocolates. We sat outside the store and had so much fun- lots of sitting area outside, it's like a small colorful European street in Langley! Definitely a must see place! read more

I work part-time at a candy store in Issaquah so I'm always interested in going to a local candy shop. I can see the a lot of hard work goes into these candies. Beautiful presentation on so many of them and candy making is on the premises as I saw a small enrober and a kettle. I bought a margarita truffle, a hazelnut truffle and a dark chocolate covered in layman's terms turtle. Although I thought the margarita truffle was just okay in flavor. I drink Margaritas just about every day, and I could not taste any Margarita flavor whatsoever. The hazelnut was just the opposite and had a nice toasty flavor. The dark chocolate-covered turtle was good, albeit the caramel was pretty stiff and I felt could have used more pecans. Even a touch a sea salt on top I think would be a great addition. read more

They have a bunch of classic flavors, as well as a wide assortment of homemade chocolates to choose from. We grabbed a scoop each, and one chocolate to try. The ice cream was pretty good and the chocolate just OK. There's not much seating inside, but there's a nice courtyard to enjoy your confections right outside. You could be forgiven for thinking of Langley as being touristy, and for thinking of shops that look like this one as being touristy. But I spent 10 minutes in here yesterday and watched a never-ending stream of folks who were local enough to drive in just for the chocolate walk by and buy a bunch of chocolate. It's really, really good. It's a small shop, but they produce a ton of amazing products. Their production space is in back, and could be as big as their retail section for all I know. There are well-known highly-promoted local chocolate companies packaging their stuff as their own. You know you're good when the big companies put their own name on your stuff. In here, they do have their own packaging, and they have plenty of stuff that sells so fast that they just put it in little crinkle paper cups like you'd get in a sampler box. There's fudge, there are chocolate-covered fruits and coffee beans, there are even jams. It's a good cross-section of sweets. They're especially famous for their salted caramels, and there's a whole case of little bite-size chocolates and caramels. I tried a hibiscus rose white chocolate heart, a mascarpone fudge bite (basically tiramisu in bite form at room temp), and a salted caramel. All decadent, all excellent. I got half a dozen things for my sister's birthday, too. All told, this was about $30--not the cheapest stuff around, but certainly cheaper than most places of comparable quality, given the medium-sized bag I walked out with. There are tons of places around here to eat, stay, and drink if you want to make a day of it (there's that touristy vibe again), but it's an easy day trip from anywhere around the Sound, too. read more

Beautiful sharp looking building; we spotted right away on our walk through Langley. The toddler kept asking for ice cream and we saw the gelato sign as well so we stopped in at lunch. The store was spacious with various varieties of options. There was a menu for coffee, tea and hot chocolate but I didn't take a picture. I was focused on getting the gelatos although the toddler and baby went for the gumball machine in a store full of gourmet chocolate. I got a medium size gelato which meant I can picked two favor which were strawberry and pistachios. There was sample of chocolate covered chia caramel; tasty. I bought the lavender caramel since it was different and unique as well as Alicante Truffle. You can taste the lavender in the caramel which was soft and chewy. The chili and cinnamon was well favored in the Alicante truffle. The gelato was bursting with fresh ingredients in the strawberry and pistachios. I would recommend if you want a treat on you visit. I love chocolate and gelatos and will come when I am in the area to try the different varieties of chocolate. read more

What a fun place! It has that old timey feel with modern and beautiful chocolates. I love the prepackaged section for grabbing things for friends and family or yourself ;) They also have gelato and coffee. My mom loved the caramels that they had, they weren't too buttery, perfectly chewy and they are HUGE and wrapped in parchment paper. I'm not a huge chocolate person but everyone else that had them were pleased. I love the Herman's brand hard candies that they sell, they are hard to find in store and I usually have to order online. I think the lady working was the owner? She didn't say anything but she was very welcoming and friendly. If she is the owner I think that is so cool that she is working and interacting with her customers face to face! Love it, will definitely stop here on my next visit. I stopped here with my wife and daughter to get some ice cream. They actually have Gelato, which I wasn't disappointed about! There are so many yummy things here, it was difficult not buying everything I looked at. I ended up with a yummy iced mocha and a cup with hazelnut and salted caramel gelato. They were both delicious, I wish I had a bigger stomach. There was a dairy-free option for my daughter which is another reason we went in the first place, and she enjoyed strawberry gelato. The shop is very cute. Many different types of chocolates and candies, as well as decorations and trinkets you can buy. There's seating inside and outside - who doesn't love sitting outside enjoying ice cream? We spoke with what turned out to be the owner (must be Mona?) and she was very lovely. She mentioned some of the upcoming events like all-you-can-eat chocolate + wine. What's a better combination than that?! Se knows how to keep things fun and interesting and draw a crowd. Sweet Mona's was definitely gearing up for the Easter season with all the bunnies in the window display. But you are there for the chocolates, the tantalizing smell of decadent chocolate hits you once you enter. Very pleasant counter person greeted us and let me and the kiddo carefully peruse the chocolate case. There was quite a wide variety to select from, very compelling, that I barely gave a glance to the gelato selections nearby. We selected two each of the milk chocolate peanut butter cups, dark chocolate peanut butter mice, and dark chocolate bunnies were a little over $13. I liked that the chocolate exterior was nice and glossy (perfectly tempered) and the ganaches were rich, good quality, and not cloying. All the chocolates made the ferry ride back home in the ice chest and were as tasty as they looked! If you really enjoy handmade, quality chocolates, Sweet Mona's is worth the stop while visiting Langley. read more

We stop in for a quick espresso drink and had an amazing drink. cappuccino with some gelato. The mocha flavor it was very intense and extremely flavorful the sorbe raspberry was very natural and flavor and quite refreshing! Definitely will come back for more espresso friendly service and maybe a truffle.
