    Nugget says thank you!
    Rachel W.

Edit: This morning we woke up to my dog having a huge, terrible hot spot all over his abdomen and genital area. His scrotum is quadrupled in size from all of the irritation and swelling and he is in immense pain. This is because his Apoquel prescription wasn't approved when I ordered it from Chewy and Chewy contacted Value Vet for the prescription multiple times and never heard back, therefore they had no choice but to cancel my order all the while I thought it was being delivered. Huge hot spots like this can be totally prevented by giving Apoquel, normally we can treat them at home as long as we catch them early and clip the fur and keep everything clean. Unfortunately since Nugget went multiple days without his medication, the hot spot got gigantic and went from completely normal, intact skin to a huge infected hot spot in a few short hours while we slept. I called Value Vet and explained the problem with them not responding to Chewy and told them that as a result Nugget has a terrible, painful hot spot that will require veterinary care. They denied any wrongdoing, said Chewy did not contact them. WTF Why would Chewy lie? They want people to buy medication from them, I was signed up for monthly delivery, Chewy absolutely DID contact them and they failed to fax the prescription. With covid it has been difficult to get vet appointments without scheduling weeks in advance, I told Value Vet that Nugget needed to be seen today or needed antibiotics, pain meds, anti inflammatory meds and Apoquel. Despite Nugget being a patient for years, they will not make room for emergencies even if they have caused them. They will only fill the Apoquel which has an active prescription. I asked if they could suggest a vet that he could be seen at and they told me to take him to an animal hospital. If vets cannot get current clients in for a month they should stop taking new clients. But they won't because they don't care about providing good veterinary care. I spent over an hour contacting every vet within 50 miles, including Diamond Hospital which I was told is currently closed. Finally I found a vet, Martha Lake Vet Clinic, that would make room for Nugget despite him not being a current patient. They even called to let me know they could see him earlier since I told them it was an emergency. I am very thankful to Martha Lake Vet for getting Nugget in immediately. Our bill was over $300 due to how severe the hot spot was, sadly it could have been totally prevented if Value Vet sent the prescription that we paid them to send. It's not only the money, though, my dog is in severe pain and that's even worse than being out $300 in the middle of a pandemic where everyone is strapped for cash. I will say the vet techs are kind and caring and the little blonde receptionist (or she may be a vet tech) is also wonderful and they have always tried to help me and been kind to my dog. Unfortunately due to repeated poor care we won't be returning again. We've been taking our dog here for over a year, I loved Dr. Vincenzi but he no longer seems to work there and the other vets we've seen haven't been ones I'd like to continue getting veterinary care from. Getting someone on the phone is challenging, you get through and are then placed on hold for 20 minutes before you can talk to anyone. Even when going there everything takes 10x longer than necessary because they don't have enough employees. Last time we went there it took 45 minutes to check out because there were only 2 vet techs and 1 receptionist.

This Vet fine work dead puppy two days after visit and given clean bill of health

I brought my litter of puppies in here for their first check up and first round of vaccines. They check out healthy and we took them home with no problems. Two days later all four of my dogs are on their last leg literally waiting to die. I call the vet they told me to bring the four puppies in for a 170$ parvo test. They just got vaccinated for pavo and you want to test them for it? Then hang up on my wife when she asked for lawyer contact information. We understand how vaccines work that's why we asked why would a 170$ test be required for antibodies that where just injected in them 2 days prior. Shady business all the way!! You guys killed all my puppies

    Time spent on hold

I really wanted to give more stars but just couldn't. They desperately need to be staffed more. I understand with COVID things are challenging but the customer service has gone downhill. I'm sure the girls at the counter are doing their best, but being placed on hold for 30+ minutes is unacceptable. No one bothered to check in and apologize for the delay or anything. You just feel ignored. I'm in healthcare and if my patients have to wait, I make sure that I check in periodically to assure them they haven't been forgotten. The check-in/check-out process takes a long time as well. Management should really consider a better workflow if they don't want to lose patients to other businesses.

I especially want to recognize the incredible care our kitty received over the years. Dr. Murayama provided amazing treatment when she helped save Autumn's tail three years ago, and she continued to compassionately care for our elderly kitty through hyperthyroidism, a heart murmur, and kidney disease. Dr. Anderson also stepped in whenever Dr. Murayama was unavailable and was equally caring, thoughtful, and helpful. Yesterday, we sadly had to help our almost 17-year-old kitty cross the Rainbow Bridge. Unfortunately, I have been through this experience before, but the compassion and kindness we received yesterday made this the most comforting experience possible during such a heartbreaking time. I called Wednesday night just before closing and spoke with Liz, who was incredibly kind and attentive while listening to all of my concerns. She explained that Dr. Murayama would not be in the next day, Dr. Anderson was fully booked, and Dr. Chatterson had a full surgery schedule, but she promised to see what could be done. Thursday morning, just 10 minutes before they opened, Liz called to let us know that Dr. Chatterson would fit us into his schedule. When I called back, I spoke with Jenni, who already knew exactly what was happening because she had been with Liz when she called. She confirmed the appointment time we requested and reassured us that if Autumn's condition worsened before then, we could come in sooner and they would absolutely work with us. She also thoughtfully suggested that we call when we arrived so she could bring us through a side entrance, allowing us privacy instead of having to sit in the lobby while emotional. When we arrived, Jenni met us at the side door just as promised. Dr. Chatterson explained every step of the process with kindness and compassion. He even sat on the floor in front of us so I could continue holding my baby while he administered the medication as she peacefully made her journey to the Rainbow Bridge. I could go on with even more details, but I have already written so much. I simply cannot thank this hospital, the doctors, and the entire staff enough for the extraordinary compassion, care, and support they have shown our family over the years and especially during one of the hardest moments we've faced. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

They prescribed me some cough pills that helped. I ran out of medicine and went to get more. The vet told me no, I could not have anymore. I went on line and purchased the same cough pills medicine, 250 pills. Now my dog is not coughing as before. I understand he has lung cancer and may not live long. I just want him to be comfortable during his last few months. My other pets will no longer go to this Vet.

We have nothing but glowing praise and gratitude for every single person at Diamond! Our dog, Remy, has been a frequent flyer here for the last four years, since we brought him home at 10 weeks old. Remy has multiple chronic illnesses, with new issues coming up almost weekly. It's sad, frustrating, stressful...and we sometimes feel embarrassed about how often we have to lean on the team at Diamond. But we are ALWAYS met with compassion, patience, and understanding. Everyone treats Remy like a celebrity instead of a burden. He actually *likes* going to the vet, which says everything. Dr. Longoni is Remy's primary vet, and he's an absolute gem; he's so knowledgeable, dedicated, and empathetic. He frequently coordinates with specialists on updated treatment plans, weighs in on urgent issues on his days off, and always offers different approaches/options with pros and cons for each. Whenever he retires, those shoes will be very hard to fill. Our problem child has seen every vet and vet tech at Diamond at some point or another, and we can vouch that they're all fantastic--everyone is aware of Remy's sensitivities, and is friendly, gentle, and kind. The front of house crew are the centerpiece of compassion, going above and beyond to accommodate last-minute appointments, get us records for insurance, relay info between vets, and more. (Thank you Tracie, Berlin, Trudy, Jessica, Angie, and everyone whose name I'm blanking on, we appreciate you too!) We genuinely don't know how we'd navigate his health without you all. Thank you for taking such incredible care of Remy, and of us.

My daughter and I brought in our boy Stellar to say goodbye. It was his time. He is reactionary to other dogs so it can be difficult to deal with public situations in general. They welcomed us in and allowed us to walk right to the room we were to be in for the procedure. We got to hug and be with Stellar until the end. They did not rush us in any way and wanted us to take our time. A few days later we received a card from them with their condolences. They were so kind as to include nose and paw prints for our boy. It will go perfect with the photo we are doing for our boy. I honestly don't know how to say thank you enough for their kindness, and graciousness, in this time.

They were much more kind and understanding of a big dog and how they can act. they took him back for two minutes and he came back smiling. the vet this time did make it clear he didn't like the needle but everything went smoothly. i return a third time and its a automatic request my dog wears a mussel because he bit someone. wouldn't specify who, and the reason "the who" was asked because no biting was ever mentioned and the dog just doesn't bite. so just to make it clear theres people there with different levels of experience and understanding than others maybe they can only handle dogs under 40 pounds. The ironic part is i don't think they wanted me to return because i've had the right phone number and email on file since the initial intake, and never once received reminder for any appointments. each time i asked they said they definitely called, but they didn't. i rechecked the number on file twice. they just don't notify. definitely get a new front desk person, she has no conversation skills!

I brought my dog in for an anal expression and paid the preliminary wellness exam fee ($89.40) - as is standard anywhere. But my dog was still acting uncomfortable after the expression (tech and vet said everything looked normal) so i brought him to a second vet (NWAC wanted a $75 recheck fee and im sure i would have been paying the Clinical Support fee ($9.50) again as well, but not confirmed). The 2nd vet determined that my dog had a full anal sack AND an infection. NWAC said that since my second vet appointment was close to a week later - basically it could have gotten filled and infected in that time. To that i say, he was STILL uncomfortable immediately after our appointment and his family dogs were still sniffing his butt - like it wasn't regular back there. The infection was present at that appointment (i waited too long to take him bc i just moved here and all the veterinarian's reviews in the area are HORRIBLE - but i know it's my fault his little anal sack was infected. I am still making my amends to him). At the end of that first and only appointment, the vet made sure i brought 5 or 6 brochures home, explaining all the expensive and wonderful tests and procedures i can get next time we're in. At this time, NWAC is reviewing my request for refund for the anal sac expression, wellness exam and tech service fee, but the business manager who took the claim for me made it sound like a refund was unlikely. Ps, I gave 2 stars because everyone in there is really nice and pleasant and very professional.
