You can get these with chips and a drink, but those in the know will tell you to get the homestyle potato salad instead if there is any left (it sells out sometimes). They have baked chips as well if you would like to eat a bit healthier. I also like the wraps, these have three flavors of tortillas to choose from. I think the Spicy Turkey on wheat is a particularly good choice! The salads are popular too, and everything is reasonably priced. Went here a little before noon to beat the lunch rush. The line was short, the service was friendly and quick. A regular sub and a drink cost me $7.80 which is pretty reasonable. My problem with the place - My sub was just bland and meh! I got the veggie burger - it tasted like the sub from Subway (which I could have gotten for cheaper). The patty was spongy and card-boardy, which made me real mad! Apparently the Super and Best and good! I might be back to try other things, only if I was passing right past it and felt hungry. I was craving chicken salad today for lunch and I remembered seeing chicken salad on Faye's menu in the window so I decided to give it a try! I got the chicken salad sub on white bread with lettuce, mayo, mustard, pickles, and cheese. The service was incredibly friendly and patient with me, as my brain was running a little slow. The food came out quick (like 3 minutes quick) and tasted amazingly fresh. The bread was soft, the lettuce was crunchy, the two pickle spears were perfectly placed, and the chicken salad was on point! Not overly creamy and no crunchy chicken parts (I don't know what to call that, but it can ruin a good chicken sandwich). In my opinion, you can't go wrong here. Faye's has the BEST subs in Baton Rouge! This place is a step above Jimmy Johns and other sandwich chains. The Best is a my favorite. Get them to make it how they normally would with everything on it. Even though I really like the other sandwiches like the BBQ Brisket and Grilled Chicken, the Best is just soooo good! The white or wheat bread are both amazing and what makes the sandwich so good. I like the fact that the meats are cut thin and in front you while your sandwich is made. The service is always very friendly and are so good at preparing the sandwiches. The vegetables are fresh and Fayes is consistent with the quality which I think is really important. When anyone called, the employees would recognize the voice and remember their usual order. I really appreciate that kind of service, so I stopped in. Very glad I did. The bread was soft and fresh but didn't get soggy while I slowly ate. It took a grand total of maybe 5 minutes to make it down the line and pay. I got the Best sub, which is ham, salami, pepperoni and cheese. I added mayo and banana peppers and got it on wheat bread. It was really good. The meat was sliced thin and the bread was delicious. They had good sweet tea and a big variety of chips. It was a quick, delicious, affordable lunch.
