If I could give them 0 stars, I would. They promote false advertising and don't deliver. A Luke Combs and Hunter Hayes concert was being promoted with $50 tickets. Too good to be true? Hell yes. Tickets went on sale at 10AM this morning 4/12...again this was all HEAVILY PROMOTED. Myself, as well as a ton of other people were on at 10AM SHARP. I chose my quantity (which was only 2), chose my delivery method, and was brought to a page where I was told that I was "in line" and not to leave or refresh my page. 5 minutes later, I'm booted out. Go back to the site, and I'm told to get tickets the night of the show at the venue, then right after that its sold out. Now conveniently, they are being re-sold on third party sites for double, triple the price? This seems incredibly sketchy to me. I understand that the demand was probably extremely high, it seems odd that big names such as Luke Combs and Hunter Hayes would be playing at this venue.... but looking at all of their social medias its as if NO ONE got tickets, but they're being re-sold? And whoever runs their social media needs a lesson in marketing because they are being just plain rude to all of the upset customers. This is all some bullshit, that's all I'm saying. Never ever going back here and giving them any of my money, that's for sure. read more

Went to this spot twice. The first time for a Taylor swift night and last time for a 2000s rave. I will never step foot again into this establishment again! During the 2000s rave which was far from the 2000s or a rave, a bartender served me a NON-alcoholic beverage at the bar. The bartender served me my CLEAN pineapple juice in a glass cup. Not thinking anything of it because it was the bartender who gave me the drink, thinking nothing of it I returned back to the dance floor. While on the dance floor the bouncer aggressively tapped on my shoulder and proceeded to yell at me for a having glass cup. I immediately told him that the bartender served me the drink. He proceeds to aggressively escort me out telling me that I was mistaken and wrong. Leaving my entire party behind he refused to let me stay and took me outside. After I told him numerous time that I was served it in a glass and it was NOT ALCOHOLIC. He refused to let me speak and dismissed me. I was left outside while wondering if my friends knew where I was and if I was ok. My entire group of 20+ people had to leave because they refused to let me back in. I WILL NEVER COME BACK OR SPEND MONEY HERE. After spending nearly $20+ dollars on sodas and a $25 dollars for a ticket. I was kicked out and falsely accused. Freestyle 90's! Felt like I went back in time! Nayobe performed All Night Long. My favorite song when I was 15 years old! Good memories! Bartender's friendly and always there for next drink round. We sat at Wantagh Inn right down the block for appetizers and drinks! Perfect location to grab a bite before dancing at Mulcahys. $25 at the door which was pricey! Mulcahy's - Freestyle 90's on a Saturday eve! Ladies night out - Pubs Near Me - Wantagh, New York

I came here on St. Patricks day and had a great time. I got there around 1 in the afternoon and there was plenty of seating at any of the three bars they have. They had plenty of bartenders and gettin a beer was pretty easy. The place is huge an there was alot of people there but it wasnt overcrowded at all. They had a couple of guys playing piano and singing songs which was cool. They were pretty funny too. Later on they had the band "Big Shot" whichis a billy joel cover band. They were awesome, sounded great. The beer selection, not so great though, so I was stuck with Bud lights for $3 which wasnt so bad. The only negative was we ordered some wings and after ot getting them for an hour I asked the bartender again and she reodered them for us. So about an hour and a half after we ordered they finally arrived. All in all its a decent place and we had a good time. Will definetely be back to see Big Sot again. read more

Bar / Club I totally forgot about this place - mostly because I do not bother going there much anymore. Mulcahy's has been a huge party spot for a long time. I remember it from back in the day when it was half the present size. To me, the place just has too many people and I am not into crowds. Definitely a place to go watch the games or to listen to great tunes at night. They do get very good bands there. Overall a fine enough place to grab a few beers but if you don't like mobs, go earlier in the night. Parking around the area. read more

Okay so I'm writing an update because so far this year the 90's nights have been absolutely amazing. They have them every single Friday with awesome drink specials. The bands are great! I love That 90's Band because they play a ton of rock covers and I'm currently obsessed with Larger Than Life, a boyband cover, that plays a lot of the same nights. I went to Mulcahys to see Pauly D. I had two meet and greet tickets, and one general admission. We arrived, and they gave the meet and greet people wrist bands, and said no phones or drinks when we go and meet Pauly. Any who, we get to the line to meet Pauly, and the security only took one picture when we paid for two. We questioned it and the security didn't care. We also asked how we would get the picture that they took, and they said they'll post it and never did. That was messed up, paying for two tickets and only getting one picture. Pauly came on a few minutes late and left a half hour early. He doesn't perform as well at bars then clubs. Definitely recommend seeing Pauly, but go somewhere else. read more

Grumpy went to see a show and decided to partake in some of this famous local venue's kitchen offerings. It was a move destined for grumpiness. Now bar food is on a sliding scale. At best it is merely a sponge to soak up alcohol. Grumpy does not expect fine dining in a place where the approved attire is an Iron Maiden t-shirt. However, it has to be edible. At all costs avoid the large pretzel appetizer. It is a horror worse than a Dio cover band. It was most certainly microwaved, and had that certain dryness and toughness that only a microwave an impart ln a hunk of dough. The rest of the apps were not much better... Been going to this place for years. They have a good line up of shows and hold great themed parties. Clientele there could get a little messy, but in general not a bad place to hang. Prime location as well being right by the Wantagh train station and off Sunrise highway it is super easy to get too. Have yet to try the food, so stay tuned for another review focusing on their munchies. read more

The definition of unprofessionalism. My group called to inquire about this space several weeks ago for an extremely important benefit concert. After being assured by their booking manager that our requested date was on hold, we called back only to find that Mulcahy's had rented the space out to another company. The event manager then refused to speak with us on the phone and sent us a dismissive, one-line e-mail telling us there was nothing they could do. Due to their error, our company is out thousands of dollars. Think twice before considering booking an important event here. read more

Read any list or watch any video about stereotypical 'Long Island things' and Mulcahy's is usually included on them. Perhaps because I'm closer to Queens I've never really checked off the list on things to do on Long Island, but my cousin needed a hand on interviewing a band and I agreed to help her. The venue is sprawling, opening up to reveal a small-sized venue. There's plenty of bar space as it wasn't packed during the show. Even though I was part of the press I was aware of the $10 cover charge, which seems a bit steep. One of the biggest problems I find with this place is actually the parking -because there is none. Depending on the time of day parking at the train is also not an option. So be prepared to walk. I don't see why this place consistently makes the stereotypical places to go on Long Island list. Terrible. The service was subpar. This is my second time, the first time it took 35 minutes to get one beer during a live music event. This time, The bartender called me lazy for not walking to the other bar to get a Michelob Ultra. He proceeded to make comments on how I was dressed. Completely unprofessional, I will never come back here unless the Warped Tour Band is playing, even at that I will be pre gaming heavily so I will not need to purchase drinks from these below average, unprofessional bartenders. My wife had my 50th surprise birthday party there last night and I must say spectacular service, had a great little room for about 35-40 people, separate entrance very nice, food was also great bartenders and servers top notch , can't say enough good things about this place, if you're having a party check them out read more

This was a favorite spot in my youth so I was looking forward to attending an event here. Seeing how well they have done over the years had my expectations high, however, I was disappointed with my first interaction. Upon ordering our first round of drinks at 8pm, we were told that both her bottles of Merlot were empty. I was surprised because I thought that a bar would have more than 2 bottles of Merlot. Another complaint was that they did not have pumpkin beer right in the midst of the season. Very disappointing for such a well know, long standing bar. read more

Great venue! I saw Rodney Akins last night here and the set up was great. It's a typical looking Irish pub. There's a few bars in here and then a big stage all the way in the back. Pretty big place! The price was $30 for the ticket and beers were $7.25. They had food if you were sitting at the bar, i didn't have any but it looked good. I would absolutely come here again for another event, it was such a blast! read more

Taco's and Tequila 2020 - complete waste of $ Completely oversold, one man band playing music, admission got me 2 tacos before booths ran out of food, a bunch of quarter pour shots of tequila, and not a single margarita offered. Do yourselves a favor, next year, take the $50 admission and go to a good Mexican restaurant and eat/drink well with no crowd packed on top of you. read more

Went to see Almost Queen on 2/29/20. Venue was much larger than I expected. The place was extremely crowded. I stayed towards the back of the room so the nearest exit wasn't far in the event something dangerous happened. Ppl have complained about the sound system. I learned it's not the system, it's the guy running it. He should go back to doing spring plays in high school. He should invest in a class that teaches you how to ring a room out (which you don't do 5 minutes before the talent takes the stage btw). The staff overall was courteous, except for the neantherdal who took our coats and threw them at us when we had them laying over the wall near the VIP tables. He was big, covered in tattoos and has reddish facial hair. I guess this was the best job he could find when he flunked out of BOCES. The band itself was good, but not great. The older, overweight, dark haired doorman here is disrespectful. He tries to steal your mojo before you even get through the door. I am not a fan of places that hire people who try to suck your positive energy dry and intentionally do what they can to wipe the smile off the face of excited people. This guy has worked here forever because I remember him from my mid twenties when he pulled some BS on me. I was sitting at the bar in the front where he could see me and my crew was scattered around the place. I had twisted my ankle during the night and when I got off the stool to use the bathroom, it looked like I was wasted, for I was limping a lot and this old fat bouncer kicks me out! I tried to explain, but his ego does not listen to reason. Almost 10 years go by and my work colleague and I head out to the place to see some live music. I am in my early 30's and my friend is in his early 50's. This old fat bouncer remembers me and I remember him. He lets my friend through, then tells me to button one of the buttons on my shirt up. I had 3 unbuttoned, so I buttoned one up for him, knowing that I was going to unbutton it right back down, once I got inside. He must of read that in my eyes, because then he tells me I am drunk and that I can't go in. My friend was waiting at the door for me and didn't want trouble, so just left when he realized I wasn't getting in and tried to get me to go with him, but I was not going to let this man get away with trying to ruin my night out and I knew I had 5-10 min before the cops got there. I let this fat man have it, but he was a coward and backed up against one of the walls and waited for help. He asked for his hair pulled and hands at his throat, yet ran from the smoke in the note that I wrote. The smaller bouncer was listening off to the side and came into the picture next, but his eyes read, "I don't want trouble and I already know that this old fat bouncer is a disrespectful nut"! He quickly found a wall to lean on as well. I'm not a big guy; I'm only 5' 11", but I learned something over the last 5 years or so. People will respect a pair of eyes that say "stay out of my way or else"! The biggest bouncer came last and he was not afraid of me. He tried to tell me I was drunk and after a few minutes of conversation, realized that i wasn't. Then I must have pissed him off because he came out on the sidewalk and went toe to toe, eyeball to eyeball with me. He was pretty big, around 6' 4". The other two bouncers were still leaning by the walls as this was all happening. We exchanged some close words, but he didn't want to go. He is good bouncer and has a lot of patience because his eyes read, "Another time and place". So that is my last experience in the place. I have moved away from Long Island, off to fresher places. Bouncers need to play their position. Stop harassing people because you don't like the smile on someone's face or the way they button their shirt. I ended up going to another bar and tried to have as much fun as possible, but I was all juiced up and it was hard to do. but by the next day I was at peace. I guarantee if anyone goes up to that fat bouncer and asks him about the 'Wild Red-Head Who Almost Put Him Through A Wall', he will remember the night. Just watch his eyes as he responds. He likes getting yelled at, for it turns him on. He likes pain. To each their own! With that being said, would I suggest you go here? If you can get through the door with a smile, I suppose the place is ok, but no, I would suggest you choose another location for fun. Mojo is important and within these walls, lurks darkness. Ughhhhh this place sucks soooo bad! I debated so many times, one star two star, one or two one or two. So I decided to give two stars for the establishment itself, and the DJ- who was actually pretty good...... Until I remembered that I had to pay a $10 cover, and that's when I removed a star. If it wasn't for the huge space, colored lights, photo wall, and clean bathroom with full body mirror, I would've left this review blank because it deserves NO STARS. Unfortunately all the things I just listed don't make for a great night at what's listed as: Long Islands #1 Saturday Night Dance Party, so that's why I can't give that extra star. I feel like if you go to a night club, bar, lounge that's huge, and specifically designed for dancing, and NO ONE is dancing, it's probably that establishment's fault. I couldn't even fathom why no one was moving. I mean the Dj was pretty good, there's a huge stage and a huge dance area. Everyone was just standing around with their thumbs up their butt's as I'm wiggling in my bar stool because I can't sit still when the music is good. I got here around 10:30 and I only came to show some love for my friends birthday. I was looking forward to it because my friend had always hyped this place up. I don't know, but on this particular Saturday night after like 12ish, this place was deader than Abe Lincoln. Perhaps it was the time change? I think not. The thing that pissed me off the most was the fact that this place is a complete friggen rip off! The $10 cover is mind blowing. For what? What am I paying $10 for, to stand around and look at everyone? Whatever I got over that. Now for the drinks.... let me tell you... well they had some pretty good specials, so I thought. $5 patron mixed drinks was all I needed to hear to convince me that the night was going to be epic. There were some other $5 mixed drinks, but I forgot what liquor they offered- I think Grey Goose might have been another choice. So you get the point - good liquor for a cheap price until 12... can't beat that. They also had $3 Coors lights, and $4 flavored vodka shots. I got my Patron and Pineapple and it was sooo gross. I tasted alcohol but I don't think it was Patron, in fact I don't think it was real alcohol. Maybe it's some new alcohol flavoring minus the properties of actual alcohol. I had that and two shots of flavored vodka (vanilla pinnacle & gummy bear pinnacle) as well. I wasn't the slightest bit loopy, and I'm a lightweight to the extreme. Believe me, I can have fun and dance with out alcohol being involved, and I wasn't there to get shxt housed, but little buzz might've enhanced the night. I I can tell you for a fact that there probably wasn't any real alcohol in my drink/shots. It's great to offer drink specials, but not if they're going to be completely scamming the people! Came for Halloween, they had a deal $30 for an open bar and food buffet from 8-11pm. Food consisted of penne alla vodka, mini meatballs and chicken nuggets with buffalo sauce, wow what a spread ! The pasta was alright the other two not so much. They put away the "buffet" before 9:30. Believe the other reviewers that said their drinks are watered down because they are. I probably had 12 mixed vodka drinks and it felt like I had nothing. There were broken beer bottles everywhere all over the bar floor and bathrooms. There was also toilet paper on the dance floor area too, pure class. The pros of the night were that the bartenders were on their game, they worked very fast to get everyone their drinks. The music the DJ played was good and the actual bar is very big and can accommodate a lot of people. However it doesn't make up for the weak ass drinks and broken glass everywhere. read more

I dread this place. Yes, they have decent music sometimes. But it is crowded beyond crowded with children and the most annoying mix of people you hate seeing from High School or College (take your pick). Most important, they are expensive and serve crap beer. Quick example, after an hour or so of feeding one bartender decent tips and getting nothing in return, my friend Jane asked the bartender straight out "Do you do buy backs?" To which the smoking hot ditz said "No, we can't." To which Jane responded "Then why should I tip you for opening Bud Lights." And with that she removed her money from the bar. You take the crowed out for a sec...picture it for what it is. 2 huge bars...nice dance floor( a ton of room to bust a move)...small but still smoking out back...location next to the train station. Its really not bad at all for people 21-24ish. I have had some bad times here...especially Friday Saturday nights but... I went for to go see a semi popular rock band on a Sunday night...only about 50-60 people their...i had a fantastic time and my pockets didn't hurt, Back in the day this place would never have people under 30 in it. The rating of this place really depends on the night that you go. The crowd is usually the worst part of this place (unless they have a rock band). I actually enjoyed the crowd when I was 21, but now at 25 I'm not huge on it. The place itself is massive with 3 bars which makes it rarely difficult to get a drink. If you come here to see a live act, it's a great venue. I've seen Badfish, Eve 6, among others and it has always been a great place to see a show. Also, they usually have a great cover band (Big Shot, Peat Moss, etc.) that plays there as well. They have one of the better happy hours I've seen on the island with 2 for 1 drinks and a pretty big selection of finger foods. The happy hour is worth the trip alone. The only night I'm not a fan of is "Weeds" which I believe is on Monday nights? Mulcahy's becomes a full out club, which isn't a horrible thing if it wasn't for the crowd that it attracts. If you're not a club guy, avoid Weeds and you should have a great time at this place. Tip: If you're like me and usually drink Bud Light when you go out, their Bud Light is a lot more expensive then their other drinks. I think it's around $6 for a Bud Light and you can get higher quality beer (Blue Moon, for example) for around $4. read more

went to tacos and tequila event on sunday 2/19/23........we paid $142 for the enthusiast level .......WHAT A JOKE! the VIP ticket was supposed to get you in at 4:00pm, 1 hour earlier than everyone else. At 4:20 we were still standing outside. Upon arriving upstairs at the VIP lounge we were by ourselves and immediately realized that we were probably the only suckers that went for the $142 level. We finally found the bar with a very nice but very inexperienced bartender.....it had 5 bottles of tequila on the bar and we immediately knew what a joke this was going to be. There were some decent tequilas there but nothing i would go as far as calling high end as it was advertised......and no Mezcal. We had to complain to a manager about the there being no Mezcal and she had someone come up with some for about 2 minutes and he left, never to be seen again. When i asked the pleasant but inexperienced bartender to not put my tequila in a shot glass but could i perhaps have it served in a snifter as it should be,she asked "whats a snifter". High end tastings of such, usually are conducted by experienced people who explain each and every sampling of whatever it is your tasting. Then we get to the food portion of the event, if you wanted to eat something they expected you to go downstairs, leave your tequila, and fetch your own food and bring it up a long staircase, and if you were lucky enough not to spill any of it on yourself, then you could eat. I would expect something so pricey would be more high end friendly, taking care of the suckers that doled out serious money. We must not have been the only ones who had something to say because sometime in the middle of the event, the wonderful manager brought upstairs 2 small pans of nachos, which looked great, and one big pretzel. I say looked great because you really couldnt eat any being there were no plates, forks, napkins or anything to scoop the food with, everyone there enjoyed a good laugh. People then proceeded to eat right off the pan like a scene from some zombie movie......talk about a Covid nightmare. Plates finally arrived abot 30 minutes later after the zombies were done. Cant imagine that whoever the manager was had much experience in the food service business, or anyone at Mulcahys for that matter. They should stick to what they do best, and thats slinging whiskey at an at an overpriced rate, to people who dont know any better......but i guess they dont care because the place was packed........but by all means steer clear of tequila tastings or lack there of! Mulcahy's is alright. I know it's a pretty popular place to go among the people in my town and in my age group. I've been here a few times with friends and it wasn't anything too special. I know BIg Shot performs here and it's a big hit, but I've been here just on the regular DJ music nights. The drinks are fairly reasonable. Last time I went they had $3 well drinks. Obviously they aren't going to be too strong if they're bottom shelf material. But if you're looking for something cheap, you got it. The one thing I like about this place is that the dancefloor is HUGE. There's plenty of room for dance-offs (which happened last time). They have a fog machine and lights too. And seating! If the dancefloor is not your thing... you can always hangout and talk back in the other room where you can actually hear yourself think. Overall, an okay place. I don't mind going back but prefer places in RVC more. read more

I was here a few weeks ago for some kind of cocktail festival. Before I even walked in, I was talking to my boyfriend and I made a joke to him about the place. Yes it was clear it was a joke and I even smiled and laughed about it. The guy who was next to the bouncers (who I'm assuming was the owner) I guess he overheard and didn't like it. He took it it upon himself to chime into OUR conversation with a facetious comment to the joke I made to my boyfriend. I literally looked at him like, I don't know who you're talking to. There's no need for a nasty response. I wasn't going to say it to him because I was afraid my money for the event would be down the drain so I held myself back. I'm pretty sure the look I threw him said it all. He looked at me and said, "You can go right in.". I was glad he didn't keep me from getting in, but this was my first time here and definitely my last. read more

The dance floor is roomy and security is always nearby in case a bad bad dancer gets a bit too hands-on with everyone else. The live music is mostly local bands who play their own stuff and some covers too--Pete Moss and The Fertilizers have made their home there for over ten years. A lot of tribute bands also play there--from Bon Jovi to Van Halen, they rock the casbah. Went here this past sunday to watch the football games as I used to do years ago. I remember the giant projector screens, every game playing, a fully packed house of crazy sectors of different fans. The beer towers, helmets full of wings, and a loud environment that made one feel like they were a part of the game. Flash foward to today's football sunday. The place is a shell of itself . The whole place is cut in half. Gone are the giant projectors, and the large crowds. It was relatively quiet, a few tables around the bar sporadically filled with other guests. The loud and crazy atmosphere is gone, and it feels less like a sports bar and more like a local pub. On the positive side, the staff is friendly, the place is clean, and the food is still the same. Didnt see the wing helmets anywhere or beer tower options. Not sure what happened but its not the same and not as enjoyable as an experience as I had hoped for or remembered it to be. read more

What a crock!!!! They advertise one thing and deliver something else!!! Came to hear Decadia do a "mock wedding". Advertised passed hors-dorves and open bar, instead, got standing room only and no food. Won't bother coming next time ********update****^***** Manager eventually came over and made up for the issues.
