I waved my hands at her to get her attention and she rolled her eyes at me! So much so the 2 guys turned around and looked at me. I asked her why she was so angry. She of course denied it. I needed 2 drinks to go, pie to go, box and the check. She was horrid. Super bad attitude. And the place was only about half full so not that busy. The food is good but we've noticed a drop in service. I shouldn't have to track down the waitress and have her get an attitude when we need things. Yes, you read that right...a personalized, hand written thank you note! To be honest, this lovely boutique historic hotel is far from fancy but what it lacks in glamour is made up in spades by the friendliness of all the employees. These folks will go out of their way to try to accommodate you. They are obviously working their tails off to make a nice hotel, one which will undoubtedly provide every comfort. The room that I stayed in and the others I saw still have quite a way to go in terms of style and comfort but I am confident that they are doing their absolute best to improve every bit. Each member of the staff is putting in crazy hours and energy! I was truly overwhelmed by a couple of things; The chef was the only one there when we checked in and he handled it all. I later learned that in addition to manning the ship when needed at the hotel he does several other jobs outside the hotel. His cooking is amazing! The manager also works mad hours with so much responsibility. A friend/all around handy man of the hotel hung out with us a bit on the patio and we learned that he does a tremendous amount to help there in addition to his other jobs.
