Another great experience at Tupelo Honey. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. I ordered the chicken tenders and enjoyed every bite.

Went for lunch on Good Friday, liked the location and area, parking was easy. Very clean and fresh dinning area, server was happy and attentive. Fried chicken was very good, it had a little wait for the chicken but was worth it. Okra was fresh and decent. Brussel sprouts were cooked perfectly "southern style, but was missing a glaze or drizzle of something. Chicken salad sandwich was well plated. salad and salad dressing (apple vinaigrette) was decent, chicken on the chicken salad was a little dry also needed some kind of sauce. Great place totally worth going holding out from giving them 5 stars, but their fried chicken I would have given them 6 stars.

Tupelo Honey had been on my list for a while, and it definitely lived up to the hype. I visited during Restaurant Week and had the tomato soup, classic chicken and waffles, and banana pudding, all were delicious with zero complaints. The atmosphere was beautiful, service was excellent, and we were seated immediately with a reservation. What really stood out was the attention to detail. Our entrée came out a bit too quickly while we were still enjoying our soup, and without us saying anything, a server noticed and replaced my chicken and waffles so it wouldn't sit while I finished my appetizer. As a foodie, that level of care truly impressed me. Great food, great service, and an experience I won't forget. I'll definitely be back.

I want to love this place. Truly. I visited the Nashville location and was blown away--amazing food, great service, the whole package. So when Tupelo Honey opened in Lenexa City Center, I was excited to make it a regular spot. But after four visits... yikes. Each time has come with major issues. Most recently, I sat at the bar with a friend. We placed our food order, chatted, waited... and waited. Thirty minutes later, the server came back and asked if we were ready to order. Turns out our order was never entered in the system, so the clock on our meal basically started over. For a late lunch with only two people at the bar, it should not take nearly two hours to eat. Unfortunately, the food itself hasn't made up for the experience. It's been consistently subpar, especially for the price point. One visit during the lunch hour, my server even told me not to order the dish I wanted because "people complain about it." I mean... who says that? I'm still holding out hope. It's a new location, and new restaurant wrinkles happen. I just really hope they sort out the service issues and bring the quality up to what I loved in Nashville. I know Tupelo Honey can shine--they're just not there yet.

Homestyle Brunch, Southern Hospitality meets Fresh and Flavorful! We were a party of 6 that did not all arrive on time. Bekah was friendly, warm and attentive. My partner was a bit critical of me when I ordered Fried Green Tomatoes, Okra, and Fries before anyone else arrived, but a few minutes later he was quiet when he was happily munching on the starters. If arrive for brunch, get there before noon or have a reservation on Sunday. By 1230 the place was packed. The only seats were at the bar and high top tables. The bartender was nice and attentive. The food is flavorful, full flavor without being heavy. The drinks are great, I think the iced mocha tied with the mega mimosa for the table favorites. Mississippi Mud Pie was good and could have traveled well had i not finished it.

This time my gf and I sat in a booth and it was very comfy. Andy was our server and what personality! He had pizazz, was thorough and so personable. He made our stay very pleasant. I enjoyed my entree and drink as did my counterpart. My sweet potato pancakes tasted exactly like sweet potatoes, my bacon cooked perfectly and the potatoes although I added salt were crispy and tender. I was able to taste my friends mac&cheese and it was creamy cheesiness. She gets the same thing everytime so her chicken, greens were exactly what she recalled and loves! We both loved the biscuits and both jams - peach and blueberry!

Biscuit for a Cause with the blueberry jam. Also comes with a choice of peach or milk gravy for an extra $1.

Tupelo Honey has become one of my favorite "anytime brunch" spots. The vibe is relaxed, Southern, and welcoming in that way where you just feel like you've made a good choice for the day. The menu is full of comfort classics with a twist, and everything I've tried has tasted fresh and thoughtfully made. One thing I always recommend: the Biscuits for a Cause. They're tender, buttery, and exactly what a biscuit should be, but they also support Tupelo Honey's employee relief and development funds. It feels good to treat yourself while also contributing to a place that takes care of its people. Service has always been friendly and the pace is unhurried in a nice way, like brunch should be. Whether you want something hearty, something sweet, or just a reason to linger over coffee, this is the spot. Highly recommend for brunch lovers, biscuit lovers, and anyone who appreciates Southern comfort done right.

We were looking for a good brunch spot on a recent Sunday to entertain some out-of-town guests, and had heard good things about Tupelo Honey, so decided to pop in and give it a try! Nice location, just a couple minutes off the interstate, and in an up-and-coming, very popular area of the west KC 'burbs! There's plenty of parking on the north side of the restaurant when you arrive. Upon entering, we were very wowed and impressed with the facility and decor! There's a beautiful decorative wall inside the foyer, and some beautiful floral decorations hanging from the ceiling above the entry to the restaurant! Even though it wasn't as busy as we'd expected for 11:00 on a Sunday morning, we were forced to settle for a hightop table with booth seating on one side, and wooden chairs on the other. A large section of normal seating was blocked off as reserved, and remained that way most of our stay. The menu is pretty large, and has a lot of southern-themed dishes, covering breakfast, brunch, and lunch-type items! Our table ordered a pretty decent variety of appetizers and entrees, and we all tried each other's! Unfortunately, the food was split right down the middle: some was pretty good, some was a pretty big disappointment. Positive highlights included the chicken and waffles, an omelette, the smash burger, and the side potatoes. Lowlights included the biscuits (very hard and crunchy...almost stale-like), side brussels sprouts, biscuit sandwich, and overall portion size for price. There was enough on the positive side for us to be interested in trying it again, but we were definitely disappointed with a couple of the breakfast "standards" being so sub-par. The plates and glasses used are cute and fun, and add to the southern vibe! The service was average at our table; attentive, but only just so. One of our orders was delivered incorrectly. I'm totally struggling on the overall feel here: it's a beautiful facility and vibe, but the food (the main reason you come!) was somewhere between "decent" and "good"...only one dish was near-great. We'll do some further research and recon, and update on the next go-round! Food = 3/5 Facility = 4/5 Service = 2/5 Ambiance = 3/5 Value = 2/5

Me and a couple friends came here for lunch. When we walked in the front door there was a very cute wall with greenery and fall leaves and pumpkins. Then saw that part of the ceiling had greenery and flowers hanging. So pretty! I was surprised how busy it was during the week. Very cute place. Industrial glam type feel. The bathrooms are super cute with individual stalls that have sinks as well. The server came and took our order pretty quickly. I've always wanted to try chicken and waffles so that's what I ordered. It was good. A little salty from the chicken and a little sweet from the waffles which were dusted with powdered sugar. The skin was crunchy and full of flavor and the inside was tender but a tad on the dry side. The server was nice and gave me a to go cup with my iced tea that I didn't even ask for. I will probably be back to try something else on the menu.

We stopped in for Restaurant Week '26 made reservations online. Was a bit of a wait before we were seated. Staff was friendly and checked on us regularly. Ordered the Chicken Poblano Soup for my appetizer this is properly one of my favorites soups. The flavors are really good and everything works so well together. My main entree I ordered the Honey Dusted Fried Chicken the chicken was large portions and had a good flavor with a good hint of honey. The green beans were very tasty. The banana pudding was good, I wish it was a bit bigger.

A great night out with some friends. We were all extremely anxious to try Tupelo Honey! And this was a great visit! The Food: So Good! The mix of "southern" dishes in the American Bar standard fare is a great choice. Everyone raved about all of the dishes that they had. I ordered the meatloaf with crispy potatoes and collard greens. It was fantastic and I cannot praise the kitchen enough. The Service: We were seated quickly (had reservations) and in a comfortable spot for the six of us. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. Though not fast. And didn't make very many trips to the table to check drinks or ask if we needed other orders. This did include a few times reminding her that we didn't have silverware, and the fact that she asked about dessert as she gathered up the credit cards to pay our bill. I am certain all this will come with more experience. The Ambience: This is where the restaurant should lose a star. This place is new and incredibly clean. In fact, the environment is almost sterile. I could change a little decor and turn the place into a Waffle House, a Peach Wave, a Boston Market, or any of 100's of eateries. There is no standout factor for this place. The Wrap: I enjoyed my experience here. And will certainly go several more times. I cannot fall in love with the place, as the personality just isn't there. If you want good food, grab your friends and family and go here, it is 100% worth your time and $s!

This was a great place to come, but very busy and loud and crowded. There was a bit of a wait, even though I had a reservation, but the hostess did communicate with me that they were waiting for a table to clear up that was taking longer than expected. The service was good once we got to the table. They had put several tables together for my large group of 10 people for a Wednesday evening dinner. The food was good, but there were definitely some strange flavor choices with parts of the recipes. There was a large amount of shredded basil on my chicken and biscuits with gravy, which did not taste pleasant to me. I think they also used dark meat chicken, which I was not prepared for. The flavor combinations were good at times, but other times it did not work for me. I would definitely go again to try something else, to see if I liked it. I did enjoy the pimento cheese dip immensely at least. It was very expensive though. The furniture and interior decor was very stylish and nice. It was extremely visually pleasing to look at.

So happy this place came to KC! I had it a couple of years ago in DC and it's just as good as I remembered. We had a reservation and when we showed up they apologized that we would have to wait a second as they were waiting for a table to leave. We waited maybe 5 minutes and they came up to us and were so apologetic about us having to wait and comped 3 appetizers plus biscuits for our table. For drinks: I did the lemonade cocktail that changes colors and it was very good. My dad requested something off menu and the bartender came over to make sure they understood exactly what he wanted so they could make it correctly. For food: Biscuits were to die for and so were the brussels sprouts. Those two were my faves. I had the asheville hot chicken melt and the chicken was soooo good. I will say, there was zero spice but I didn't mind that much. Everyone else at my table was happy with what they are. Something to point out: the bbq sauce is definitely carolina style which is horrible compared to our beloved KC style of sauce ;) Overall, AMAZING SERVICE and amazing food!

Unfortunately, the service side fell flat. We arrived mid-afternoon around 1:30-2:00, and the restaurant wasn't busy. We asked if we could sit upstairs, and the host seemed confused before telling us it was closed, then seated us directly next to a loud group despite plenty of quieter open tables nearby. A few minutes later, we looked upstairs ourselves and saw multiple occupied tables being actively served...what the heck? The most frustrating part of this experience wasn't the seating, it was the complete indifference from the staff. Drinks didn't arrive until after we had already finished eating, and despite the restaurant being relatively slow, nobody seemed remotely concerned. No urgency or communication. Just a normal day for them, I guess. A kitchen can only carry a restaurant so far when the front-of-house operates with this little care for hospitality. The atmosphere gives the impression of a place that wants to feel polished and upscale, but the service felt lazy and disconnected from the guest experience. Mistakes happen in restaurants. What matters is whether the staff notices and cares enough to fix them. We left wondering how a restaurant with food this solid has become comfortable delivering service this poor.

However, things got interesting with their Tequila/Cold Brew/Liquor 43 concoction. Topped with an egg foam cap, it was actually pretty solid. A bit of a gamble, but sometimes you have to roll the dice when the menu is trying that hard. The Culinary "Hit and Miss" Then came the food, or as I like to call it: The Great Consistency Crisis. The Steak: I asked for medium-rare; I received medium-well with a "char" that felt more like a personal vendetta against the cow. The Potatoes: Apparently, potato portions are determined by a lottery system. I received about half the amount of the person next to me. Maybe I didn't look hungry enough? The Eggs: My over-easy eggs had crispy, hard edges and arrived at a temperature I'd describe as "lukewarm at best." We also had to hunt down salt and pepper like we were on a scavenger hunt. Honestly, I probably should have just hit the buffet and cut out the middleman. The Service Our server was perfectly nice, but he appeared to be roughly twelve years old. Since he wasn't legally old enough to understand the complexity of a craft cocktail, he couldn't give us any info on the drink menu. We just had to "go with our gut"--which is a dangerous game when tequila and cold brew are involved. The Verdict I'm not saying I won't be back, but consider this a fair warning: if Round 2 involves another charred steak and a side of "room temperature" eggs, I'll be sending it back for a rerun faster than a shanked drive into the woods. 3/5 Stars -- Great for people-watching, questionable for potato-equity.

It was all great, but the Black Cardamom Burnt Ends are NOT to be missed! It made my cardamom-loving, Midwest soul very, very happy indeed! The space is a really nice size - not massive or overwhelming - and with the shades drawn down (to seal out the late afternoon sun, thank goodness!) and dim lighting, the mood vibes were solid for a romantic anniversary dinner! The other ambiance item of note is that the restroom corridor smelled absolutely fantastic! Upon investigation, it was due to a burning candle from a lovely local-KC company that was custom made for the restaurant! Yes, they're for sale, and yes, we picked up two! While everything was lovely and the food was very good, you're definitely paying a high price for it. Not that it's not deserved, but the "value" feels aren't necessarily "off the charts", by any means. And that is really my only critique, if there is any at all! Food = 5/5 Facility = 4/5 Service = 5/5 Ambiance = 4/5 Value = 3/5
