This place.... ugh. What to say. It's been here forever and it's practically the only place you can go to in the area for a drink that stays open late night. Smoking is allowed inside. I don't know a thing about the food, but drinks were so-so, but priced reasonable with a heavy pour. Even if you're 50 - count on being ID'ed. What irritated me about this visit. I had to get up and move my car twice! Not once, but twice. The parking lot was not full. Where I initially parked - someone from the band that was playing on the inside - came out and told me it was blocking their ability to move the instruments to their van. Okay, no problem. I moved it to the front of the building only for me to go out and turn off the alarm because some people took it upon themselves to sit on my rented vehicle. Ugh. This time I moved it away from the entrance so it would not be affected by patrons who'd rather smoke outside instead of the already smoky inside... which you know makes total sense. This has been a long term go-to pub for me, for a very long time. There is good service, good bar food, and plenty of space to sit or dance. Not to mention the full bar. The decor and interior are dated but I don't think people are going there bc of the wall paper. It is a great place for group outings or couples. They have live music, karaoke, and trivia. It is conveniently located off of the 45 bypass in *North Jackson*. One down side to this "pub" is that there is no pool table but they do have darts. There are plenty of tv's to watch sports and/or your mid-day soaps. Need a beer? Make it a Guinness and a shot of Jameson's bc your in an Irish pub. Cheers! read more

This is your run of the mill blue collar pub but located in a suburban strip mall. It lacks in ambience and creativity in the menu. There were no drink specials (or at least they weren't offered) and I expected a place in Tennessee to at least have a comprehensive whiskey selection. Maybe I didn't run into them but a place like this needs colorful regulars. It could be a Cheers but nobody even asks your name let alone knows it. read more

The stuffed mushrooms were delicious. Apparently this is a new location for the business, which used to exist in a different place. The happy hour was a great deal and our bartender was friendly and cute as a button. ; ) My only complaint is that they have a lot of tv's in there...which I guess is kinda standard. I prefer it dark and smoky with some Tom Waits on the jukebox, but for Jackson it's pretty fine. I'm sure fun can be had here. Cheers! read more

Haven't been to Mulligan's for several years. Thought we should try out the new location, especially since they've changed to non- smoking. It was a Friday night and the bar was far less noisy as it was early. There were many reserved tables, but the one we chose was just fine. I think our server was Michael and he did a fine job. We ordered the stuffed mushroom appetizer- yummy! Husband got the Fish and Chips, which was good, but I was shocked at how little coleslaw was served as a "side", I'd say it was about 3 Tablespoons worth. My Ribeye Medallions were cooked to order, but I had to several bites into my napkin, unable to swallow, due to fat and grizzle. I think what bothered me the most about the whole experience, was the music. Hard rock, like AC/DC (one of the milder groups) did not add to our dining pleasure. Absolutely the WORST steak I've ever eaten! My husband couldn't even finish his burger. The steak tasted old and frozen and had been cooked in a skillet. Half of it was pure fat. Burger meat looked old and gray. There is no one to direct you to a seat and waitress is not friendly. Will definitely not waste my money there again. read more

OMG. We just ate at Mulligans. We paid $14 cover charge for the two of us because it was St Patrick's Day. We both stink of smoke. It was loud. Obviously a bar atmosphere so we were expecting it but it's worse than I remember it being in the past. Then we seriously ate the worse food that I've ever eaten in Jackson in 27 years. My wife couldn't eat hers. Mine came with a roll that was a brick. Asked for another and was given one that was stained brown on the bottom where it had soaked in some kind of fluid. Waiter asked if that was better lol. The Shepherds Pie was so bland and dry that it was just not edible. This place needs a new owner/manager. Hate to see our one Irish restaurant gone to shambles. read more

Enjoyed the blue collar atmosphere, heavy pour drinks, and the Boom Boom Chicken was fantastic.

Regret I suggested to eat at this restaurant today. Lesson is, if you have an issue with something at this establishment be prepared to be wrong and like it lol. Ultimately service was indifferent and unfriendly. Ordered our food and once received it had fries instead of chips I ordered, no big deal but apparently it offended the server and staff. I mentioned that I ordered with chips and the server removes my plate. I asked why and he said he "has to take it back to redo the entire entree." I suggested maybe I could eat around the fries, again no big deal, and he shuts that down saying he must take it back while acting completely put off. Not agreeing with how he handled it I told him not to worry with it and I'll go without the food as well requested the check. Not that it should matter but I'm not being rude or loud just simply saying I don't want it any longer. Shortly after, he zooms by the table placing a folded receipt on the table without saying anything. I look at the receipt and was charged for the meal I declined to have redone. Trying to get the attention of the server without success I get up and ask him why I'm being charged which he states he's not the manager while walking away. Going back to my table I thought surely this is a mistake. Shortly after someone tries to bring the food to me and insinuated I wasn't doing what he thought I should do. Bewildered he said that I repeated my refusal and absolutely didn't want to eat here. At this point I really just wanted to leave even if they wanted me to pay for it. Waiting to pay someone, another person walks up asking how he could fix this. While trying to explain I quickly realize he just wants me to take the food. I hear a few excuses and no apology along with him saying he has 15 years of customer service experience with no real option but to take the food. I explain that I didn't want to argue I would accept the food to go. Paid my bill and promptly threw the food away after leaving. One thing I do feel was exceptional was the one star reviews they earned on several sites. Congratulations on providing a poor customer experience and ensuring that the less than stellar service by the waiter is reflective of this establishment. Funny thing is I'm in the customer service world and am appreciative to have this experience to refer to while doing customer experience presentations around the country on how not to treat customers. read more

Good drinks. Boom boom chicken was good and spicy. Also had a bacon cheeseburger, which was delicious... especially the bun.

Great lunch specials. Reasonably priced. My favorite is Monday, the burgers are great.

Went there on 1/5/19 and was our first time, just tired of all the regular restaurants so decided to change it up. So so very glad we did! We sat on the bar side, Gentry (bartender) waited on us and he was amazing! The food was spot on and prices weren't bad at all! Definitely will be back!!! read more

Dined here tonight. Thought to give it a try. No hostess to direct you when you come in. That's a bit uncomfortable. Wait staff was friendly but seemed a bit disorganized. Started with the fried dill pickles. These were good. Had the fish and chips. Also good but fries were not so much. Hubby had the potato chips and they were much better. His burger was on the dry side though. Nothing that made us excited to return again. read more

The best bar in town by a mile. The only place with a consistent crowd that isn't out of town rednecks. Good place for college aged kids and a good location in town that is a short drive from anywhere. Also, 3 words sum up what makes this place special. BOOM BOOM CHICKEN. If you haven't had, try it. I love to support local businesses in my town, but this place isn't worth going to. I went to a private event there, and since I was 19 they wouldn't let me stay even though it was a private event. The rest of my party stayed, and had a bad experience, it was smelly and sticky. The service was abysmal and the food was less than mediocre. When they asked me to leave, they weren't the least bit polite about it. The host of the event was incredibly apologetic, but the staff was just rude. I understand that they have to follow the law but I was under the impression that since it was a private event, and they did not allow any customers in without an invitation, I wouldn't have any problems with staying here. The staff was just rude to me and the rest of my party. I won't recommend this restaurant to anyone, anytime soon. read more
