A walk up "Sweden Cream" type of dairy stand that now primarily sells burgers, patty melts, slaw dogs, and chili dogs. It is probably the most inexpensive meal in Jackson, and the best. I got 2 burgers and 2 fries for a little more than 8.00. It not in a very good part of town (the old 5 points area, near Royal St. and Lexington Ave). The location does not keep the customers away. There is always a crowd ordering and waiting. I Phoned in an order, but it didn't seem to speed up the ordering process. Customers are responsible for spacing and following pandemic guidelines. Ordering is through a window with the customer outdoors. It is chaotic standing in line and ordering. Separated by glass and muffled with a mask does not help communicating an order. The burgers are good, real good. It is the best burger in Jackson. It is worth the trip. read more

Best burger in Jackson from some reviews? I hope not, as it was just so so. Lots of toppings, but the burger itself was somewhat dry. We had been expecting like a greasy spoon type of burger with more seasoning. I also had their veggie beef soup, again, so so. Tasted like store bought, little personal flavoring added, not too much ground been either. I will say their onion rings were the best I've ever had. Perfect smaller size, perfectly cooked, and excellent flavor. We'll come back, try something different the next time but definitely get the O rings again. read more

This place is one of the best in West Tennessee. Great menu with plenty to choose from. The cost is very affordable and there is always a special. There are great milkshakes and desserts. The burgers are great and deserve to be eaten immediately. There is a covered patio if you choose to eat outside of your automobile. This business is diversity friendly and has plenty of unorthodox parking. If you are lucky, you can catch a good garage sale next to the railroad tracks. This is a Jackson, Tn classic! read more

Burger barn seems to be an anomaly in and of itself. This small walk up restaurant has a basic menu and a basic staple and a basic way of doing things. It works. The food is better than expected, but could use improvment. The shakes are great. You get exactly 13 tater tots per order and 2 ketchup packets (you lost a star for this one burger barn). Ordered two hot dogs and a polish. Took a bite of the hot dog. It tasted funny, so I went to heat it up and knew immediately why it tasted that way. The hot dog was light pink and green. Opened the second hot dog, it looked light pink too, except, it had a black fork mark and green spots. Took a bite of the polish and spat it out. Tasted like gasoline. I don't know where the other reviewers have tried burgers to compare Burger Barn's burgers to, but I was not impressed whatsoever. At best, the burger was OK. Just a very thin patty on a bun. Spicy fries were ok...same as run of the mill frozen bag of spicy fries. I read the reviews first and decided I must try this place......I'd have been completely fine if I'd never tried it. The only spot on review I see and agree with now is from John W on 7/3/15 "typical greasy spoon burger" and YES in the HOOD. Ppl with missing teeth standing right behind me making lewd comments. OMG I couldn't leave fast enough. I will never return. Burgers are NOT DAMN GOOD. Want a better burger go to Steak and Shake or hell even Burger King. read more
