I don't know why some people said otherwise and gave this awesome business a poor rating, these bad reviewers don't even have a profile photo, fishy!?!.

First, Deer Valley is an affordable course. I love to golf, but can't afford to shell out top-shelf prices for a round. HOWEVER, Deer Valley isn't exactly a cheap "hacker's course". There's a wide variety of hole styles to keep your attention, highlighted by their signature par-3 #5 that takes you 120 yards out, but straight down to a soft green. The view is intimidating, but it's a hole you could shoot at for hours. Immediately after #5, you're challenged to drive over the rocky, steep face that you just came down. There are holes with blind tee shots over hills, hard dog-leg turns, and plenty of terrain to navigate. I haven't even mentioned hole #1 - a long par 5 up a big hill (and almost always into the wind). Once you get past that hole, the rest doesn't feel too bad. Deer Valley is extremely scenic with tee boxes overlooking vast valleys. In the fall, the colors are breathtaking. Being removed from the big city, it's one of the most peaceful courses I've been on. Keep an eye on your ball, but don't forget to take in the scenic views and watch for wildlife! It's beautiful there! The new "Valley" nine is nice, but I still like the Ridge and Prairie best. Valley is a little tighter and most of the holes run in, you guessed it, the valley... Definitely a course worth hitting. If you're a prude and want to be addressed as "Mister", have your clubs cleaned by some high school boy working for tips, go somewhere else. If you're looking for a course that is great bang for the buck, to hang out with some friends and have a great time - hit Deer Valley.

But we had a very unacceptable occurance. We are a stay and play group, where we 36 holes on Friday and Saturday, and stay in the resort so we don't have to venture anywhere. It has been great for years. We have set tee times and have various money games on the line. This year, they scheduled an shotgun outing which caused us to end our morning rounds after 14 holes. Unacceptable!!! The supposed head of golf operations, some young dweeb couldn't care less and said "we were just a stay and play group" so he didn't care. We are not "just" a stay and play group. 35 years of going there, enjoying the commradery, have a group of people that for many, is the only time we get together, is alot lot more than "just" a stay and play group. I hope next year things will straighten out and the little "dweeb" is gone. Golf course was in great shape for what it is.

They had eggs, bacon, pancakes, ribs, chicken, potatoes, chips with dip (dip was very good), salad, sausages, dessert, etc. While the dip was very good did notice there were flies flying around and in the dip and that kinda creeped me out. The bunkers and Tees boxes could use some loving care but the fairways and greens are very very nice. Depending on the precipitation, the roughs encourage a player to stay in the fairways as they can wreak havoc on your second shots. Played in late October and the down leaves did not cause any issues in the way of finding balls throughout the course. I will definitely return as it is easy to get to from the Madison area. Facilities are definitely dated for this price range.
