We visited Baraboo for my Birthday & selected Driftless Glen for my birthday dinner, best choice I ever made! The food is easily in the top tier we've ever had. Quality, flavor, presentation were simply top notch! It just so happened to be oyr servers birthday as well, so that was fun & she was so sweet & accommodating... the atmosphere is is wonderful with the distillery, gift shop & a view of the river right out on the terrace if you want to eat outside. We saw a mother & baby deer right across from us and a whole family of geese with their gosling. We loved the place so much, we came back 2 days later for lunch before leaving the area. Take the Distillery tour & buy some amazing infused balsamic vinegars, oils, bourbon, brandy, bourbon BBQ sauce, scented candles & other before leaving. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! My bf and I came here for quick "something to do" while visiting Baraboo. We only did the tour, but for $20 I found it to be enjoyable and knowledgeable. You do get to try up to five tastings of your choice, which was nice since you can double up on a tasting if you really enjoy the taste. Our guide was funny and did a great job providing the information. As far as the cocktails go, I did get a tasty mojito! The cool thing is if you arrive earlier to your tasting, you can bring the drink with during the tour. I love the atmosphere and really enjoyed the tour guide! read more

On our way to go camping, we found out that we were running early and decided to stop on and take the tour. Then lunch. Then dessert. The tour was fun, the drinks excellent, and the food was great! Each item, though rather different, was very good. My wife and I both love our noodles and jambalaya is just one of those dishes I can't stay away from. Their flatbread pizza is very good. Cook perfectly, and full of unique flavors. The spirts are poured well from their full line of in house liquors. The staff is very kind and helpful, navigating the many options can be scary. Definitely an up scale vibe, but you can totally show up in a t shirt and shorts too. Overall I would recommend you stop here for a drink or food. Or even both, you won't be disappointed. read more

This place was so fantastic, we went back twice during our 4 day stay in Wisconsin Dells! We sat out on the patio which was very pleasant. Shady, breezy and next to a little river. When we saw the cocktail menu we were so excited to try the Naughty Pickle Martini!! And it did not disappoint!!! It was delicious!! The addition of the balsamic and oil really livens up the flavor!! For food I had the Balsamic Grilled Portabella. It felt like I was eating a rare steak. It was so flavorful and perfectly cooked! The cauliflower mash it sat on top of was so creamy. My boyfriend had the Bourbon Ramen Bowl. He loved it!!! So much he ate it so quick! We also purchased on balsamic vinegar cherry infused and gin pickles to take home with us! Stopped in for lunch, as the menu looked good. Nice clean, modern decor and friendly pleasant server. We were seated in the back dining area by the window with a great view of the river. My Manhattan cocktail was excellent, with cherry balsamic and bitters. My wife had the tuna salad which was outstanding . I had the bourbon burger, with a great sweet bourbon glaze and thick bacon; which was excellent. As was my cauliflower mash side. The coffee we followed up with was strong and smooth. What a great experience at this local whiskey restaurant. Everything from the service to the food was fantastic. I highly recommend trying this place if you're anywhere in the Wisconsin dells or near about region. If you take the whiskey flight, upgrade to the better whiskeys. Definitely worth it. We made a last minute choice for this restaurant - on the water (wonderful!) and walking distance from our Bed & Breakfast (Ringling House - definitely recommend!). The food was delicious - he had the cod, I had the salmon. The service was fantastic (unfortunately I cannot remember our server's name). If you like bourbon/ rye/ liquor/mixed drinks/ amazing food! This is your place. It's hard to know where to start. I love the food! The menu changes with the seasons !! So you might loose your favorite menu item from time to time. If you ever see the SHORT RIB with risotto. It's a Must try !! 10/10. I have had it over 5 times. It's a winter menu item. But I did see it on the summer menu in taco form for the summer. Bourbon ! I will keep it short because I could write a lot. Single barrel 96ish proof is there best. The higher proof is good. There finishes are a try but you either like them or nah. But they are creative and they when limited releases of age statement, whiskey all the time. I think what they're doing is pretty awesome while making good product. Try to sit outside. The river is amazing and it's a cool place to sit! I do think this is a great date night spot but also is a great place to bring kids, try the pizza. They're only knock is service is average, everyone is super nice but the details could be tuned up a little. Overall try to go. And grab a bottle on the way out. Tip. Heading home in a food coma- and SO happy about it! This was one of the best meals I've had. My husband and I both had the walleye. Lightly pan fried with fresh dill cream sauce accompanied by new potatoes and asparagus- perfectly cooked. A light buttery touch hit just right in this trifecta. The fish portion was huge. So flaky- just melted into the fork. My brother ordered the heirloom tomato steak salad- he's ordered before and raved about this and said this time it was even better than he remembered. Huge fresh tomatoes and tender steak on a bed of fresh greens and balsamic glaze with blue cheese crumbles. My sister-in-law ordered the salmon- huge portion on a bed of jasmine rice with asparagus. Our pre/dinner drinks were regular and blackberry old fashioneds and an espresso martini. The orange flavor came through in the regular old fashioneds. The blackberry old fashioned was 'dangerously like kool aid." Something awesome about this place is they have free drink cards of the special drinks. I also appreciated that drinks could be modified upon request. We sure will try out the recipes. The espresso martini was a perfect blend of coffee and vodka with a hint of vanilla- no creaminess typical of many I've had. Just pure taste goodness. You wouldn't think we had room for dessert but there's just no passing on the incredible options. We shared vanilla bourbon and rye peanut butter ice cream, pineapple cheesecake, and pistachio brownie with ice cream. TO. DIE. FOR. The setting is beautiful right along the river so we settled into our food coma enjoying the peacefulness of the water and the outdoor early evening night. Our server Candace took great care of us which made this experience so satisfying. There is a nice gift shop with spirits and clothing. All staff were welcoming and friendly. This was a destination dinner for us but it is close to the Wisconsin Dells and definitely worth a stop! Love this place. Even if you don't like whiskey, you should still come for the restaurant alone! For drinks they have a lot of whiskey cocktails and a couple beers on tap. They also do flights of their whiskeys, only $15 for generous pours, and they're typically excellent. Everything we've gotten here has been delicious, especially the short rib, smoked salmon dip appetizer, and the bourbon bread pudding which is the best I've ever had. Everyone here is very friendly, the food is top notch, and they're putting out some excellent whiskeys (especially the ryes!). Definitely come here! read more

The restaurant had a nice patio with gorgeous views of the Baraboo River. The food was also good and the drinks were tasty. They specialize in bourbon, whiskey, gin and vodka. They take pride in using locally sourced ingredients which is pretty cool. They offer tours but we didn't partake today. We had the bourbon burger and chicken sandwich with smoked Gouda cheese. I came here with a friend for lunch on a Thursday. We were welcomed as soon as we entered and decided on outdoor seating. The outdoor dining area is beautiful, right on the river. Waitstaff was very attentive and polite throughout our visit. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with spicy potato salad as my side. My friend ordered the heirloom tomato and steak salad. I loved my meal. Potato salad had just the right amount of spice and wasn't overly dressed. My sandwich was incredible-the meat was tender, the sauce was delicious-right balance of sweet and tangy. My friend loved her salad, it looked beautiful. Highly recommend giving them a try for lunch, I would definitely make a return trip to try their dinner menu. One of the best tours and tastings we've ever had and we've had a few!! We just recently did a good portion of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail and Driftless Glen surpassed most of those! From the sweet, genuine greeting from Jaylyn when we arrived to the tour with Benjamin, we highly recommend Driftless Glen. Benjamin is definitely a huge asset to Driftless Glen with his knowledge, sense of humor and customer appreciation. The tasting was the best of all the distilleries! Allowing the customer more of the control of the tasting hit all the marks with us. The rye whiskey was where we landed as our favorite, especially the single barrel. So smooth and just a touch of sweetness. The vodka is also the smoothest out there and the cask gin is delightful. The tour of the distillery was super casual and relaxed. We got to climb the ladder and peak in the mash pots, smell the malted barley and sample some bourbon candy! So many unique experiences in just one tour! If you've never been on a distillery tour, this is definitely the one to go on! read more

My son and I stopped here after a trip to Circus World next door. We were promptly seated outside and our order taken. He got the kids menu burger with fruit and I got the prime rib sandwich. We took a family trip to Wisconsin Dells in 2021, and LOVED the area! We had such a great time, we decided to do a sequel here in 2022! When researching some new places to eat, we wanted to find some options off the main strip in the Lake Delton/Dells area to avoid some of the crowds...and possibly raise the cuisine game just a bit! Enter...Driftless Glen! One of the top-rated here on our platform of choice, wifey and I made a reservation here (also a wonderful feature and convenience!) for our first night in town. We arrived a few minutes early, but were promptly seated. They have indoor and outdoor options. We chose the latter, and it did NOT disappoint! Their out back patio sits right on the Baraboo River! We could hear the river babbling, ducks quacking, and flogs croaking all supper long! The kids had a blast watching a mommy duck with six baby ducks navigate upstream for a few minutes. It was a truly amazing ambiance! Our wait staff, from the moment we walked in the front door, to the second we left, was absolutely five-star! They immediately engaged our young kids, gave them a kind, small token for our first time and out-of-towners status! Our waitress was extremely kind, helpful (and correct!!) with recommendations, and really great with the kids. Lastly, one of the hostesses checked in a couple times, and even offered to get a family picture over the river for us! The food, and of course, beverages, were excellent! I had a sampling of the spirits on offer, and wifey had a mixed drink! Dinners for us included everything from a burger for the boy to seafood for me, a pasta dish, and more...and all was SO DELICIOUS! We even dove in for some desserts...and while both were excellent, I HIGHLY recommend the bread pudding!!!!! ...and that's from a "no-bread-pudding"-guy! It was like a warm cinnamon roll, doused in bourbon-y -caramel-creamy sauce! Holy smokes! I wouldn't be surprised if we hit this place one more time before leaving town!
