Mulligan's is one of our favorite spots for grabbing some good food while watching the game (whatever game we are hoping to see that day...Hawks, KC Chiefs, KC Royals) Our favorite dish is the Street Corn, Chips, and Queso appetizer. The sweet corn with melty queso is a great pairing! We usually run out of chips and my partner will eat the corn dip with a spoon! We aren't drinkers, but Mulligan's has a huge selection of beer, seltzers, and even pudding shots on special days! We haven't been when it's been super busy, but they do only have a couple of low seating options (the rest are high tops.) This might not be ideal for older guests or kiddos. read more

The Budweiser shrimp appetizer is delicious. Rich, buttery flavor with a hint of beer that made for a very nice appetizer; something I would expect down in South Padre. The shrimp were large gulf sized pieces. Unfortunately, the toasted baguettes that came with the shrimp were scorched. Tables were dirty at opening and dirty plates were not cleared off the table during our time in the restaurant. Our server (very pregnant) did not want to be there and she made visits to the table very short and direct. Our party of three only had one menu during the entirety of our visit. Also, a gripe I have with many establishments like this, so Mulligan's isn't unique in that regard..but it would be nice if someone who knew about football was around to flip TVs. When we arrived, one TV was on an E/I special with no football. After the noon games were over, TVs were playing post-game--no one was around to change them over to the afternoon games. Seems like a waste of the Ticket. Anyhow, it was not worth the drive to Marion from Iowa City to receive little service. read more

We've been here twice so far, once for lunch and another time for dinner. The atmosphere is perfect for a bar environment. They have so many different TV monitors showcasing all the sports games from soccer to football. There's a pool table off to the right of the bar and plenty of video games to keep you entertained. Happy Hours Monday - Thursday are from 3 - 7 and its buy one drink gets one free, so you're totally stocked throughout the night. The first time around we enjoyed lunch with their beers on tap. I had my usual Blue Moon and my fiancé likes one we can never recall the name of. The tap is shaped like a telephone so we've dubbed it "The Phone Beer". The service is great. Friendly bar tenders who offer advice, other places to hit up and just hang out at. For lunch I tried a side Pub salad and the beef Gyro - both were yummy and filling. The second time around we ordered a pizza which was known as "The Time Pizza" (or something similar) so, whatever time you place the order - that's the price of the pie. If you order it a 5:30 pm the pizza comes to $5.30. The pizza crust was thin and perfect - which surprised me because I wouldn't expect a nice, flavorful crust from a pub. Our bill leaving was under $15 for pizza, a salad and four drinks between the two of us. You really can't beat that. I really enjoyed Mulligan's and know we'll be back soon enough. read more

Saturday evening about 8 o'clock, not many people in the place. It always seems like the parking lot is full, so I expected a bigger crowd. Took more time than expected to get a drink order, and food did not arrive very promptly either. Had the Mulligan sandwich. The idea was good, but the performance was lacking. Menu said a piled helping of turkey breast, but it wasn't piled very high in my opinion. But the flavor was pretty good with the onions, mushrooms and honey mustard sauce. The hoagie bun was ordinary. With a larger portion of meat and a better bun it could have been excellent. The fries were the kind of fries that gave the resemblance of a potato product. Not very good at all. My wife had the patty melt, which looked pretty good, but she upgraded to the onion rings at a cost of $3.00, not a wise choice. They were overcooked and ordinary. For an extra $3, we expected some home made onion rings. You can get better rings at Culvers. The place was clean, and they had a good number of TVs. Service was friendly, if not prompt. Free WiFi, and convenient off street parking. They also have an outdoor patio, which was nearly empty. The patio is equipped with heaters, which make it nice on a cooler evening. read more

Only gave one star because food was decent. BUT that's all about this pub. I was fine with seating myself but we didn't see anyone to take our order for 20-30 minutes. Once we got the menus, it took the Waitress 15-20 minutes to come back and take our order. We asked for our kids food to come out first with our appetizer but they didn't. It was a hot mess. 30 additional minutes for our food to come out. At the end we had to search for the waitress to get our bill and that was messed up and then we had to search for them again to pay! Would not recommend or at least just do pick up to avoid the place. It wasn't even busy. read more

Mulligan's Consistently has exceptionally bad service. I've only visited Mulligan's four times in the last two months, to be fair, but each of those four times, both the Bartending and Table Service has been horrible. I've only stopped here those four times because it is relatively close to my home, a friend of mine plays pool here from time to time, and most importantly, I've always thought in my mind to give those providing bar and restaurant service multiple chances to show their professionalism, keeping in mind we are all human beings, and we have our moments. I'm currently sitting near the Main Bar right now and the Head Bartender just complained out loud to a 'regular' that she has tried multiple times in the last few months to reduce her working hours, so that she can leave before 10:30, "because she can't stand it here", regardless of the number of customers present, but "No Chance" was her response, as she walked away, huffing more under her breath about whom ever the current Management is. And just for fun, one of the two Table Service team members, is now openly stating that she is having an impromptu 'Sit-Down' strike, because of her apathy for this establishment, and literally is just sitting at the corner of the bar, feet up on the bar stool next to her, and on her phone no less, refusing to serve customers. And just to be clear on how bad this negative tirade in motion is of hers, one of her seated patrons, from a table only ten foot from her, just had to leave his table and walk up to her, and ask her to please bring over another drink. He was very kind to her, but she is just not happy that anyone has even 'bothered' her. Management of Mulligan's, please fix this 'Shit Show', or else the lack of patrons inside will match your deteriorating front sign outdoors. read more

I had the pork wrap for lunch. Great flavors and lots of juicy meat. I would definitely recommend! I went over the lunch hour with coworkers. The only negatives I would say is the lighting was horrible - definitely need more lighting especially on a rainy day - and a small little cup of ranch was $.70. I understand restaurants often need to charge for ranch, but I got a very small amount for that price. read more

Have gone many times to eat wings on sundays. The wings are good but not my favorite. They do have good queso and are generous with the chips. I'm a few summer shandys in so you might have to forgive any misspellings. To start off, one of the more impressive draft selections on this side of town. I'm pretty sure the bartender serving me is new because she's asked other employees a few questions, but she obviously has experience because she's doing an excellent job. I ordered a classic burger with Swiss and BBQ sauce. The burger was large and delicious, not dry whatsoever. Prices aren't anything to brag about, but for the portions it seemed pretty adequate. The BBQ sauce is average, but I've got a high taste for BBQ. I've been in here before on Fridays though and one of my few complaints is a lack of seating, and this place fills up fast. In addition there's only one pool table, you'd expect at least 2 with a place that looks this nice. The entire restaurant looks very clean, and the decor isn't overbearing. Lots of windows let in plenty of natural light which makes for a great atmosphere. Despite my minimal complaints this is one of my favorite bars. read more

Another sports bar. This one has a golf theme but you would have a difficult time knowing that from the decor. Better than average bar food. The crowd is older, mostly 40s to 50s-plus but it was early. Servers are friendly and hardworking. The outdoor dining area is one of the best in CR (which isn't saying much). Mulligan...mulligan...what is a mulligan? This 'golf' themed bar is an industrial take on a clubhouse bar. A high ceiling and tall south windows with a big patio out front does make this a nice summer spot. Large U shaped bar serves up booze and a good number of draft beer. Decent bottle selecton rounds out the adult selection. Food menu was typical 'merican bar food. They happily accommodated several special requests by my small group, chicken and burgers were had with satisfied grunts all around. Service was fast and she even had time to chat during a mid afternoon lull. Its the little things like a smiling, engaged bartender that makes a visit. For a neighborhood themed spot it is a good choice. 3 stops over 3 days and service and food was consistent, I'll admit I didnt expect much but they delivered what was ordered. read more

Hands down, worst customer service we've ever had. Orders were wrong, draft beer was flat and tasted old. We had to go inside from the patio to ask for more drinks and ask to bring out the food they missed. We also had to go inside to ask for our checks. They weren't even busy!! They comped the fries we ordered that were brought out 20 minutes after our food came out but honestly we could have passed on the fries and we just wanted to get out of there. I have really warmed up to Mulligan's since my initial visit. I really enjoy this place. The beer garden is great and has plenty of room, the wings are awesome and still only $4/dozen on Sundays (We usually order raspberry chipolte, buffalo ranch and honey buffalo), the fries are really yummy, and they have hard cider for me to drink up on and bloody mary's on special on Sunday, so I am not complaining!! Service has also been very good the last few times we've gone. I see people bringing their kids here, families hanging out, and then there's dudes up at the bar watching the game and shootin' the shit. Seems to be a place for everyone! read more

I like to think of myself as a bar food connoisseur. This place always satisfies. On Tuesday there is one topping thin crust pizza on sale for whatever the time is when you order. You cant beat a $6 pizza and it's actually pretty good. I can't complain at that price and it fed two with leftovers. The Beef Bacon & Blue burger is excellent but pretty pricey at $10. The service can be spotty and really just depends on who's working. There are times when it is slammed and I get service and food faster than when it's empty. As with any place some workers just take more pride in their job than others. Buckets of beer are always cold. Tons of tv's and a clean atmosphere are also a plus. This is probably a great place to hang out with some friends and watch a game. I'll be back during college football season. read more

8 of us went there for work lunch. About 10 other people were there. It took 40 min to get the food and we all ordered just burgers. Fries were great and our server was very nice but we were ready to just get up and leave when they brought our food. I've been here multiple times during the week and never had an issue. We however went there on a Saturday for a birthday party and from start to finish it was horrible. We arrived at 7pm the time our RESERVATION was and there was no place set up for us. After standing around for about 10 mins without being helped we finally flagged down the bartender and asked him where our table was for the reservation we had made 3 days prior. He said we could go put any tables together that we wanted. Unprofessional. It is not my job to move the tables around. We then sat at the table for almost 30 mins before I ended up walking up to the bar to get a beer. I asked if we would get a sever and he said yes. Another 30 mins pass and I flag down a server to come take our drink and food order (I had walked over to the server station to grab our own menus) he puts in our food and drink order and wanders off. I had to go up to retrieve our drinks we ordered from the bar because he never came back with them. I'm not sure what happened, why the service was so bad, it was NOT busy, and I even had people coming up to me in the restroom asking me if we were getting horrible service too. Needless to say, I will not be returning there on a weekend, ever. read more

Went there for dinner tonight, and the service was great. The food was pretty decent. Don't order the florentine chicken sandwich or coleslaw though. My husband thought they were bland and the sandwich was a cheesy grill flavored mess. The waitress saw the barely eaten coleslaw and promptly offered to remove it from the bill without us asking. She even offered to get him a new sandwich too! My breaded chicken sandwich and fries were great. He really enjoyed the honey buffalo wings too. The only thing I didn't enjoy about my meal was that the Dr. Pepper was sold by the can not the standard fountain drinks/free refill usual situation. I don't know if it was just the one I wanted or if they sell all soda like that. If it was just that flavor, she should've said something when I ordered it. All in all, we'll definitely be back. I want to try Gavin's Steak Sandwich and the onion rings which judging by the fries are probably made in house and not pre-packaged frozen stuff. read more

Good food, good service, great beverage selection. I've noticed that most negative reviews are from a long time ago. This place has new owners and a mostly new staff, so as far as I can tell they have gotten their A game on. Never had a bad meal here, and the lunch specials on Wednesdays (tacos, Mexican etc) taste like they are from the finest of home kitchens. Their wings are the best in town and their Rueben sandwich is to die for. Occasionally they will have bands on weekends which is nice, but you can still sit on the patio if you prefer something quieter. Highly recommended. read more

We've been there once or twice and never thought one way or the other about it. Tonight we wanted to sit outside somewhere and enjoy a nice drink and dinner. First thing you walk in the door and you are immediately.....ignored. After a while, we were ignored some more and then one server finally told us to seat ourselves. So we went outside and sat down where we were promptly ... ignored some more. And I must mention that inside, at least three servers looked at us while they ignored us. Outside, three servers walked past us several times each and... ignored us while at the same time avoided eye contact. My dear, patient husband was ok with waiting a bit since they were so busy but even he had his fill after the third, eye avoiding, ignoring server walked by. We'll never go back. It was just chaos. Self seating only works when you are acknowledged and there are enough servers to go around. This was not the case at Mulligans. read more

one of the most amazing people I have ever met it my life passed away 2 days ago. always had a positive outlook on life and was always happy. he frequented mulligans a lot. as with many, i went there before his funeral.. because there was a commemorative party in his honor. Ive never been so horrified in my life. the owner who I guess claims to be his friend did nothing but profit from his death. what I thought was a get together to honor my dear friend turned out to be a big "pre funeral" party in his "honor". I had to leave I was so sick to my stomach. anyone who was his friend should have NOT drank the day of his funeral. What I thought was going to be telling amazing stories and remembering how much of a caring, funny, loving individual he was.. turned into an opportunity for his "best friend" to make a profit from his death.
