Poor parking, vendors sitting in waiting area so disabled patients unable to sit while waiting for X-rays. Restroom was not clean.

As I write this review, I'm trying to fight back tears of happiness for how my experience with this…read moreamazing hospital has been!!! I was diagnosed with a melanoma that was very serious and needed to be removed. I met with the amazing and wonderful Dr. Maryam Parviz who was so informative and reassuring! Because of the seriousness of this melanoma, she instructed the scheduler to get me in a week later to have this melanoma removed since it was so advanced. The first hospital I went to didn't do what they were supposed to do and they weren't proactive as they should've been. My beautiful and amazing wife went above and beyond to get me scheduled with Sacred Heart shortly afterwards. Sacred Heart was wonderful and amazing!! Their entire staff moved quickly to get me scheduled for a much needed surgery that the previous facility didn't seem to think was all that important. Sacred Heart put me at ease during a time that was very stressful for my wife and me and made us both feel so positive!! I'm writing this review just one day after my surgery and I feel wonderful, apart from having some mild soreness since I had to have a couple of lymph nodes removed. From start to finish, the entire staff was very compassionate, considerate and had the most amazing bedside manner!! The anesthesiologist was awesome and monitored the general anesthesia during the procedure and I came out of everything without any nausea or any other side effects. To Dr. Parviz and her amazing staff, I can only say this....You saved my life!!! Because of all of you, I get to see my beautiful wife! Because of all of you, I get to see her precious smile and hear her beautiful laugh! Words can't express how happy I am that this nightmare is finally over!! I was scared out of my wits before having this procedure and all of you put me at ease and brought me out of it feeling positive and hopeful. I have never experienced anything like that before in my entire life! I love all of you and I will never forget your kindness, compassion, empathy and professionalism! You are all wonderful and I will never forget everything you've done for me!! Because of all of you, I get to have a second chance at life and I get to see my beautiful wife every day!! I have all of that because of all of you!! Thank you all from the bottom of my heart!! You are all wonderful and I'll never forget how awesome each and every one of you are!! God bless all of you!!

From front desk staff to those working on getting patients back to and during surgery have been great. They've all been friendly and helpful. The lobby is as comfortable as you can expect with a patient status board to keep you up to date. If you forget you phone charger, they have one with multiple types of cord ends. Parking is also free and generally plentiful. This is so much nicer than Sacred Heart. The facility also seems be kept clean in the lobby, restrooms, and patient rooms. Overall very good experiences.

A follow-up to my review:…read more **please take note of my 'previous' review. It reflects many of this hospital's "ER's"performance reviews. *I submitted two complaints*. The first one was several letters to hospital upper-staff. I wanted them to know what is going on in their ER. I wanted justice. I wanted something to be done. I was told the staff acted in accordance to protocol. The letter written back to me ignored the fact that I was ignored for 4 to five hours while suffering with extreme abdominal pain, vomiting, and nausea. They also disregarded my complaint about the Drip-Line issue. (Sort of bushed it under the rug). There was no mention or apology about staff behavior. **My second complaint was to a government agency that deals with review on matters with hospitals around MEDICARE. I filed this complaint with the government agency because I could not figure out why I was treated this way. Someone had mentioned this agency to me. My question was: was I treated this way because of my MEDICARE status? Again: "staff behaved in a matter consistent with protocol". Yes, all tests were done. It did not mention anything about the rudeness of the staff. And the treatment as a human being that I had gotten. Again: the drip line was swept under the rug. And again: there was no mention of my 4 to 5 hour wait as I suffered in pain, vomiting and nausea. Rudeness=especially intake staff and nurse. I spoke on the phone with a person from the government agency. She had asked me, what do you want to get out of this? She said, 'they acted accordingly'. 'The timeline of events measure out'. Then I told her, I just want an apology. I would like to sue, but according to you, I don't have a case. She said, they aren't obligated to apologize, so don't expect it. She could clearly see that I was upset over this. And basically said, without saying it, "just drop it".

Receptionist seemed more concerned about my ID than about why I was being seen, and when I was seen, it was by a pair of nurses but no doctor ever came in. The monitor I was given after waiting FOUR MONTHS didn't even work. It was fitted to my chest and I was given extremely rushed instructions and told the "phone" I was given would let me know about any problems with function. It worked exactly 20 minutes before it repeatedly kept telling me the monitor had "poor skin contact" (this was after shaving part of my chest with the world's dullest disposable razor). The machine did this repeatedly throughout the night, making sleep nearly impossible. Either set me up with the right equipment or at the very least, don't make me wait a third of a year for faulty equipment (which apparently needs to come from the other side of the country?). My blood pressure and nerves really don't need more aggrravation, especially from an office with 18 doctors--none of whom even bother seeing the patient on their initial visit.
