My first impression when the food arrived was that I wished they used containers with separators. I personally don't always want my food touching or the sauces mixing. The oxtail was nice and tender, but I wasn't a huge fan of the flavor. The candied yams were very good, and the mac and cheese was a bit too rich for me, with an overpowering extra-sharp cheddar taste. After finishing my meal, I felt hot and fluttery, which was strange, though I didn't experience any vomiting, I did feel nauseous for a while. Will I return? I'm honestly not sure. I visited this establishment at 4 p.m. on a Saturday. The place was busy and packed, which was a good sign. I was probably in line for 10 minutes total. I ordered an oxtail plate and a curry chicken plate. The person preparing my order was really kind.She smiled and made small talk while fixing my plate. I tried the rice and peas, the macaroni pie, and the oxtail. Everything was flavorful. I loved that the curry had a little bit of heat. The oxtail was tasty, not too fatty, with dark gravy. The kitchen was clean. Checkout was easy. I'll definitely be back to try more Trinidadian options. read more

Went there today! The food was incredible and the staff was so welcoming and kind. Me and my friend ended up staying there eating and talking for hours we felt so welcome and comfortable. I had the oxtail, callaloo, and mashed cassava. My friend had the salmon, greens, and white rice. The food is 15/10, portions were huge and the prices were reasonable given that one plate will easily make 2-3 meals for me lol. We met both the owners and they were so lovely. Terrible service and horrible attitudes that are not with your trouble. The corn is sideways dried out and disgusting and the food is over priced abs under average. Also you don't want food made and served by people who hold such a negative aura. The woman who owns it is even nastier than the food and this girl who works there with glasses is just as nasty too. Yesterday I got to meet the lovely staff whom was pleasant and knowledgable. From what I could tell the place was very clean and. a welcoming environment. It was my first time here and I would've passed by it had the passenger not inquired. I tried the goat and it was amazing so I'll be back for that with rice collard greens and yams. what I ordered was oxtails with rice and the best cabbage even better than my own moms. I really enjoyed the flavor the the rice and oxtails. I'm a Florida native reporting that this place is the best food I have had in so long and I have been in Boston 3 years. Hello ! Just had "Sunday Food" at Mum-Mitch's and it was AMAZING! Everything was hot, fresh, and seasoned perfectly. My wife is Trini, so of course we tried almost everything--favorites were the macaroni pie, curry chicken, baked turkey wings, candied yams with collard greens, bourbon salmon, dhal, BBQ ribs, and even the lasagna! Jillian (The star n owner ) and Lorraine were fantastic--pleasant, accommodating, and clearly cares about the experience. The place was spotless and polished for a takeout spot. The food is made with love and you can tell. As soon as you walk in - you know the food is going to be good (from the delicious smells and food variety). The menu is a good mix of different cuisines, but I was most excited by the authentic trini food. It was hard to choose but I ordered (for myself and others): Curry Chicken, Curry Goat, Oxtail, Mac and Cheese, Calaloo, and Black Rice (djon djon).
