    Hakka noodles with vegetables
    Cami C.

Stopped by here before going to a concert at the BSO and it was a great place to grab dinner. We were seated within 5 min after getting there. They have tables for 1-2 people and a decent amount of space that can accommodate larger parties by combining tables together. When I went, it seemed the restaurant was a bit short-staffed, but we still had great service! We were able to place our order pretty quickly and while the food took a bit longer to come out than normal, the server was so kind in coming up to give us updates and re-fill our water. The ambiance is also great, so I didn't mind a bit of a wait with the beautiful decor and warm atmosphere! We tried the hakka noodles with vegetables and then had Tikka Masala with lamb. Both were fantastic and add in the potato naan and it was *chef's kiss.* Servings were sharable and we felt there was plenty of food for 2 people!

Great little restaurant right with both indoor and covered patio seating. They're running a promo right now for a free mango lassi if you show student ID. The chicken tikka masala and shrimp curry were both delicious and can be made not spicy. The vegetable samosas were crispy and came with 3 dipping sauces. The food takes a while to come out but the wait is worth it

Been here a few times now sometimes with the hubs and sometimes in a bigger group of friends. Good experience every time! Ambiance is nice and they even have a cute outdoor seating in summer and even today when it's a balmy 50 degrees in December! Service is always friendly. I've ordered the pav bhaji multiple times and did so today. I've also had the chicken biryani which the hubs ordered today - it comes with a side of raita. We also ordered the tandoori chicken lollipops. Now these were amazing!!! Omg they were crispy on the outside perfectly juicy and tender on the inside. Really really great! The hubs and I just ate these one after the other and polished them off the plate in no time! Get these if you go for sure!!! They have a number of Indo-Chinese dishes have yet try those although the hubs tried the Hakka noodles before. I wish they'd have South Indian dishes like masala dosa, idli and vada sambar- hint hint restaurant!! Great location right near Symphony- we can walk here usually after gym at the Huntington Y across the street. Go here if you haven't already :)

Was not too busy when we went on a Saturday night so we got seated immediately! And the waitresses were all really patient and friendly The food took awhile to come but maybe it was just because I was really hungry Presentation of the food was very cool! Little metal pots which look small but are quite filling. And they keep your food warmer for longer :) I got the chicken korma and it was nice warm and savory, and very tender large chunks of chicken! The garlic naan though that we got I wish had been a bit more buttery, less dry, and more garlicky Overall solid meal though and left waaaay too full

    Chicken Dry 65

We ordered chole bhature, chicken 65 dry, Hakka noodles, dhai poori chaat, and paneer biryani. The first four dishes were absolutely incredible. They were so flavorful and delicious. They had the perfect amount of spices and were amazing. Our only big issue was biryani. It was disgusting and sour for some reason. Was a lot more like pulao than biryani. The server was really nice about this though and offered to switch our dish for the dhai puri. Amazing service and handled the situation nicely. There was no one else in the restaurant.

The food seems overpriced for the portion sizes, however they were not bad in taste. We ordered a variety of sauces to dip our naan into, but it didn't seem like anything we couldn't get at the grocery store. The restaurant space itself was mid-sized, and the staff were kind to us!

    Schezwan potatoes (?)

I'm torn between a 3 or 4 star review, but I'll give them the benefit of doubt and go with the higher one. We were really looking forward to some indo-chinese food and that's how we came across Mumbai Spice. They deliver via Uber Eats. Mumbai Spice was still open (around 7 pm). It took over an hour for the food to be delivered, but that's alright. We got the veggie fried rice, the vegetable manchurian gravy, and schezwan potatoes. When we opened the containers, we were very surprised by the potato dish. As you see in the image, it included curry leaves! I'm quite certain they sent us something like potato 65 (which is not even on their menu!) instead of schezwan. However, there was no note with the order that they substituted our dish, which was even more strange. Anyway, the dish lacked salt, so all you could taste was the chili powder, so we didn't really enjoy it. But the fried rice and the gravy from the vegetable manchurian really hit the spot, it was very similar to the tastes back home and what we were expecting. The veggie ball in the manchurian could have been better, but that's a small factor. Overall, I'd try them again when I'm wanting some indo-chinese cuisine. I wouldn't order the potatoes but maybe go for a different dish like chili paneer!

Super friendly and yummy food! Chicken tikka masala isn't too spicy, very flavorful. Garlic naan was very fluffy. Would visit again!

    Chicken Samosa (2)
    Ivy T.

Mumbai Spice is a new favorite for me! I've been here twice now, the first time I got chicken biryani and the second time I got chicken tikka masala, butter naan, and samosas. The biryani was slightly had a lot of spices; the yogurt sauce helped cut through that taste and was a good combination. The bowl looked small at first but I had plenty of leftovers to last me another a meal. The tikka masala was even better. It wasn't spicy at all but had a nice creamy flavor, and was amazing with rice and warm butter naan. The samosas were so delicious! I'm craving them right now just remembering them. I also had leftovers from this meal too. My only complaints are that the meat is a little sparse in these dishes, and the restaurant charges an automatic gratuity on tables of 2 and above. These aren't dealbreakers though and I will definitely return to try more menu items.

We ordered the cheese topokki (soft rice cake, fish cake, vegetable, & mozzarella in Korean spicy sauce) & the beef bulgogi bowl (fried marinated beef, vegetables, steamed rice & side of soup). The cheese topokki was just as good as we remembered - chewy, flavorful, comforting, & a little bit weird. The cheese was poorly distributed, but it was still very tasty. The beef bulgogi bowl was really underwhelming. Firstly, it was very little food. We were promised vegetables, but there were only a few scarce onions & zucchini pieces mixed in. It was also dry. It was devoid of moisture & sauce, so we added some from the fridge at home. The side of soup was a joke. It filled only about 2/3 of the container & looked so sad, we wondered if it was the sauce that we we so desperately needed. Nope, just a meager amount of watered down miso soup. So the conclusion - great topokki, sub-par bulgogi, non-existent soup.

I'm so glad Uyghur cuisine has made its way to Boston…read more I was first introduced to it years ago at Silk Road in Cambridge, and I've been hoping more Uyghur restaurants would open ever since. Jahunger truly delivers. The restaurant immediately sets the mood. Candlelight, the scent of incense, traditional instruments on the walls, and pothos plants growing from mounted glass jars all make the space feel warm and inviting. One warning: unless you arrive around 6 p.m. or earlier, expect a wait. (It's popular.) Oh, and the food is worth it. The leek and egg dumplings tasted homemade in the best way: slightly rustic, fresh, and delicious. The hand-pulled noodles are the stars. Every noodle dish we ordered had the perfect chewy texture. My favorite was the Laghman noodles, though the Jahunger noodles were a close second with their rich spices and satisfying heat. The mee fen and stir-fried green beans both packed a respectable kick and leaned a little salty, but not enough to keep me from happily polishing them off. Don't forget the tea! It's beautiful to look at, filled with all sorts of ingredients (Chinese jujubes!), and only lightly sweet, which I appreciated. Then came the showstopping honey cake. The cake itself was fluffy, while the filling had a firmer, almost sticky texture with deep caramelized flavors that reminded me of burnt caramel in the best possible way. Paired with what tasted like coffee ice cream, it was the perfect ending to the meal. Jahunger is one of those restaurants that makes you want to come back before you've even paid the bill. I'm so glad Jahunger made it to Cambridge; the Boston food scene is richer because it's here.

Although it's called "sweet lamb", it didn't have a strong sweetness; instead, it had a typical mild, complex flavor of onions, cumin, coriander seeds, and other spices. The Yellow Rice was likely seasoned with turmeric and saffron, making it very flavorful. The basmati rice grains were distinct but not too dry, perfect for mixing with the sauce. The White Garlic Sauce wasn't overpowering; it mainly added a touch of acidity, which, along with the cool, sweet corn, helped to cut through the greasiness. Actually, it was completely different from any other Moroccan lamb stew I've had. It was more like Yemeni Mandi, but with more layers of flavor and a more universally appealing taste.
