    Special tea

Quite a disappointing experience. We got the gobi lamb and it was overcooked and dry. The chicken stew was ok: only good part were the noodles. The chicken does have a lot of small bones. Potatoes seemed over cooked as they were too mushy. The tea was delicious. Our server was either new or lacked experience. We asked for recommendations, and he gave use recommendations based on spice level. We also never saw him after we placed our orders. We had to flag the other staff members for things and the bill. Get on the waitlist via kiosk by the host desk and you'll get a text when your table is ready. We waited about 30 minutes on a weekend night.

Went in without a reservation and was told it would be a 45 min wait but it was much longer than that. This place is very busy and limited parking although they do have some spots on the side lot. The inside is larger than expected with simple decor that came all together and dim lighting. We ordered to share for 4 but the dishes we ordered didn't balance out enough but it was the end of the night so we didn't order more. Just note that some portions may be smaller than expected. For apps, we ordered the Kavab which are lamb kebabs and the Handmade Lamb Dumplings. The dumplings were smaller than expected and came with 7 pieces. Nothing crazy with flavor or anything although the Lamb was a little saltier than expected. For the app price of $14 and $13, expected a little more honestly. The Gobi Lamb was a disappointment. For $22 there barely any meat, it mostly just bone and wasn't that easiest to take off the bone either. The favorites were definitely the Meefen and Jahunger Noodle. The Meefan came with a different noodle than the original. It is this thick rice noodle, it had a slight spice in a thicker soup. This was my personal favorite although I wish there was a little more soup. The Jahunger Noodle was good as well coming in saucy thick noodles that were a little short. Overall the food was pretty good especially the 2 noodle dishes. Would highly recommend the Meefan.

Delicious restaurant in cambridgeport with the basic decor and plants hanging on the wall. The service was very good and although it's walk-in only, I was able to get a table pretty quickly on a weekday evening around 6:15 pm! Have to try their most popular dishes, the samsa as an appetizer, the Jahunger noodles and lamb on the land dish. Watch out for the Sichuan peppers - they will numb your mouth temporarily - and you can ask for a dish without them. I highly recommend the green beans as well! One of the biggest downsides was the temperature, it was freezing although we were indoors and it was warm outside. I was shivering, and I asked them to turn down the air, but I was told that if it was turned down, it would get really hot.

I would recommend arriving one hour before you actually want to eat because there will definitely be a wait. My friend and I shared two dishes. I was a little hesitant to get the Lam on dryland because I'm usually not a fan of Lam however they did a really nice job seasoning the meat it was very tender, and didn't have any of that weird aftertaste that I typically don't like. the crispy pieces of naan bread with the lamb was something I've never had before and I thought it was deliciously unique. The meefan was also really good. We asked both of the dishes to be spicy, and I appreciate when a restaurant actually adds a kick when you ask for it!

Ding Ding Noodle, green onion pancakes, and plum juice ($40/person w/ tip)

I've never had Uyghur cuisine before, so I was curious to try this spot, and the Bib Gourmand put it on my radar. Other people must have had the same idea, because the place was absolutely packed on the Saturday night I went. It was a 30 minute wait for a table of 3, and I suspect the wait would have been trimmed if we'd come before 6pm. The menu looked so delicious with many of the meat dishes customizable to be made vegan with tofu for protein. I recognized some of my favorite dishes my family would often make including the green onion pancakes, thinly sliced potatoes, and green beans. I quickly gave up on trying multiple things because the portion sizes were quite generous. We ended up trying the jahunger noodles (very Szechuan pepper heavy which my friends were unfamiliar with and couldn't finish) while I got the ding ding noodles which tasted amazing. The noodles were cut in little bits which was unique, and the flavors were wonderful. Everyone loved the green onion pancakes, and we all tried plum juice too which most people loved, but one of my friends thought the flavor was a bit strange. It's sweet and with an herby and earthy aftertaste that is unique. Overall, jncluding the drinks, appetizer, and tip, the entire meal was just $40 per person. I loved the flavors myself, but some people unfamiliar with the cuisine may find the palette different. I also want to harp on how phenomenal and respectful the service was even when the restaurant was bustling. 5/5 - would definitely recommend this spot.

Firstly, be sure to come early especially if coming in the weekend. The lines tend to get long and they will put you on a waitlist. Your whole party needs to be present when you get seated. Food was good. I thought it was a tad too salty and spicy for my taste. Be aware that the chicken stew has a lot of bones in it. I liked the texture of its hand pulled noodles though. My favorite dish would have to be their honey cake. It was so good that we decided to recreate that cake at home! Definitely not your typical cake. It has just the right amount of sweetness and moisture.

Food: three stars For drinks we got a San pao tai. It basically just tasted like chamomile tea, we could barely taste the dried fruits inside. It was good to have something hot when it was raining outside, but we had mixed feelings when they put hot water in a plastic tea pot and didn't peel the longans. For starters, we got a Kavap which tasted pretty good. For entrees, we got a JAHUNGER noodle, Meefen, and a stir-fried beans. Both the beef and the noodle in the JAHUNGER noodle were too chewy for us. The Meefen tasted sour and a bit bitter, like they've put some kind of Chinese spice in it. The stir-fried beans were too salty for us. For dessert, we got the honey cake which was the best out of all and prob the only one we'd reorder. The cake was moist , a bit on the dense side, and not too sweet. It comes with a scoop of coffee ice cream. We really liked this one. Service: five stars Servers were nice and welcoming. We got seated after waiting for ten minutes. Ambiance: five stars It's a small but warm restaurant with cute decor.

I love this place! The interior decor is so cute and the whole restaurant has such a cozy, welcoming vibe. It's pretty casual too so need to be super dressed up. It is first-come/first-serve, so definitely be prepared to wait during peak hours. In my experience: - party of 2 at 5 PM: 5 min wait - party of 2 at 7:30 PM: 1 hour wait The food is truly the best Uyghur food I've ever had. Everything is so flavorful. For the app, I really liked the lamb dumplings but the Samsa was a pass for me - too much meat for my taste. For a main, I highly recommend the Original Meefen--the spice and aromatics are incredible. If you don't love spicy food as much, the Jahunger noodles are a flavorful option that won't burn your mouth! And don't leave without getting the Honey Cake!! 10/10 experience.

Jahunger's entrees were no joke delicious. You could probably close your eyes then choose any entree on their menu and it would be amazing. Some recs are definitely their Jahunger Noodles, Spicy Tiger & Not your typical Honey Cake. The flavors for all these dishes were incredible! Their appetizers (skewers & dumplings) didn't taste that special and were overpriced though. Main downsides were service was terribly slow, the restaurant was stuffy and the parking situation was difficult to say the least. Also they're rather pricey, but everything is really filling. If you happen to be around the area, it's worth venturing out for a visit.

I'm so happy Jahunger got featured on the bib gourmand, so well deserved! They get a little busy so be prepared to wait a while if you go at peak hours but it's worth it. We tried a lot of dishes, but the ones that stood out to me were the polo, Jahunger noodle and honey cake. The chicken stew was great, but very spicy! The polo was my favorite, it tasted very authentic. Service is fast once you get seated. Definitely a must-go if you're in the Cambridge area!

Food was fresh but ok, I did not find it mind blowing. Compared to another Uyghur restaurant I've been to recently, it was average. Service was good, but to be seated they were strict with all people being present to be seated, we were 3 ppl waiting for a 4th, table sir would be the same. Not an issue. Ambiance is nice, it's a small place with good decor. Honey cake was pretty good, and enjoyed it with tea.

This is one of those reviews I'm only writing so I can remember for next time...so keep scrolling. Cambridge, MA is the second location for this restaurant (Providence is the original). Uyghur food is Central Asian cuisine. It's not really Chinese, Mongolian, or middle eastern. It's kind of a mixture of all the above. The menu will not have any items you've eaten before if Uyghur food is new to you. Portions are huge and meant to be shared. Chicken stew was enough to feed four people, we took it back to the room and ate it for breakfast. The hand pulled noodles were like al dente udon in texture and were great. The lamb dumplings were unique. If you're an adventurous eater and want to try something different from the norm, definitely check this place out.

Great tasting and tummy warming food! Service was also super kind and attentive. We came on a Saturday right at opening and it got pretty crowded (full restaurant) around 12-1pm. We came right on a breezy, chilly day, so having a comforting, warm stew was the perfect cure. The chicken stew is packed full of flavorful chicken, soft potatoes, and perfectly chewy wide noodles. The portion is huge so I would definitely recommend attacking it family style. Their Jahunger noodles were also pretty tasty and unlike any noodle I've had before. The stir fried beef was soft and the flavors packed a punch. The noodles themselves were extra chewy (even chewier than Korean tteok) and fun to nibble on. I personally wouldn't eat the Jahunger noodles as a dish on its own -- we liked it as a side dish next to the stew. The cake was also a very unique dish! If you like dates, I would highly recommend. It was a sweet, but not too sweet treat to end off the meal.

My only complaint is the little size for the samosa size. For our mains we got the short rib and the white butter chicken. The butter chicken could've used a bit more chicken for the price and was frankly a bit tough. The sauce was great. The short rib was flavorful and packed the perfect punch. Dipping the garlic naan in both sauces was my fav part!! Overall an ok experience. I want to give the restaurant grace because it was very packed but service was poor. I think we had 4 different staff members help us total which probably led to lots of miscommunication.

The $50 menu had plenty of sashimi and regular nigiri (sushi with rice) options and some Thai too. We had mostly the sashimi Salmon, Tuna, Yellowtail, Octopus, a few rolls, some edamame, gyoza, shumai. My favorites were the salmon, as the cuts were large, thick and amazing silky, and the gyoza, as it was perfectly crispy. The Pad Thai was bit way too sweet for my taste - a skip for me next time. I got the crab wontons, their take on crab rangoons, as well as three different rolls (yes my eyes are bigger than my stomach). I went with the eel avocado roll as well as the spicy tuna and yellowtail rolls. I was REALLY impressed by the quality of all the food. I was given the wontons first and they were perfectly crispy and filled. I dislike when the ratio of filling to wonton is too heavy on the filling side and things get messy. They were also SUPER hot which is a personal must. My only qualm is I would've loved a bit more sauce, there were a lot of wontons for that small dish of sweet chili sauce. In terms of the sushi I surprisingly loved the spicy yellowtail the best. Normally the other 2 are my favorite but I might've found a new go-to. The others were great as well, though. You could seriously tell the tuna was JUST cut from the fish (I watched the sushi chef do so!). Notably, the ratio on the eel-avocado roll was great as well as the amount of eel sauce.
