This is the only other Filipino restaurant in the area I would considering ordering food from if I am too lazy to cook. Most of the time, I would rather cook my own Filipino food. Their food is pretty good, but not better than my food (my Ilocana mom raised me well and taught me how to cook since I was 8 yrs old). Their fish and chips is actually very good. Portion size is decent. Food sometimes takes awhile to cook, but that shows you they actually cook their food, rather than reheating foods. I like their palabok here, although I wish they used the skinny bihon noodles and not the fat ones. read more

Here we have another tasty example of a locally owned restaurant offering a better product at a lower price than the big chain restaurants. I haven't tried Mum's full menu nor do I ever intend to. Here I'm focused on fish & chips, and they don't disappoint. The fish is cooked to perfection with a light crispy crust. An ample sized portion at that. I finished two large pieces before I even paused to have a look and a taste of the tartar sauce which itself Had a moist creamy texture with just enough flavor and not too much. And the side of coleslaw? I've never been caught bragging about anyone's coleslaw, but a nice sized portion of very moist and slightly sweet coleslaw came standard with the fish and chips order. If I had to find something to complain about, my french fries weren't super warm or crispy by the time I got home with a take out order, but that's not a fair evaluation to make on a take-out order. At the time this review is written, take out orders are all that are available due to the Covid situation. In summary, I have found my go to place for fish and chips in Bremerton. read more

My concern is the obvious better treatment given to customers of a certain ethnic category. Rice should be given to all or none who choose to sit down and dine. Small, family run place with lots of options, good service, and a great value. My wife and I stopped in for the first time, and were a little tentative about ordering Filipino food from a place called "fish & chips". Don't let the name fool you; it's the real deal. We had three dishes. The adobo, which is a standard Filipino dish, was good. The lechon kawali was excellent because it wasn't greasy at all. The calderetta was the best entrée of the three. The beef was very tender, the carrots cooked perfectly and the sauce was great. The service was excellent, and the lady who served us was very friendly. We've been a couple times now. We had fish and chips and lumpia the first time and we were SO happy about it, the breading on the fish was light and crispy and it wasn't greasy, and the lumpia were also a good size but light and crisp and not too greasy. The 2nd time we had lumpia again and pancit, and again it was so good. It was just as good as the homemade pancit and lumpia my friends families would make growing up! The prices are SUPER reasonable too. We'll definitely go back. The only reason 4 stars is the fries with the fish were nothing to write home about, the sweet and sour with the lumpia was just ok, and the place is a bit cluttered (like maybe they also cater?) on the inside but really that's just being picky. The service was good, the prices were fair and so far overall the food has been good! Wife and I were craving some teriyaki so we decided to give this place a shot. As we entered the place looked run down and old with mismatched tables and chairs in their dining area. We were told to seat ourselves and while doing so realized that there was no escaping the door breeze and it was a cold and wet night in Bremerton. It took awhile before someone came and took out order especially with the small amount of customers that were there. The waiter was pleasant and took our order and quickly enough retuned with our water. The water tasted awful, so I ordered a Pepsi and the wife a lemonade. While waiting for our food a drank my small glass of Pepsi and there in rested for my entire meal empty. The food however was very good. We had spicy teriyaki and some lumpia. TLDR: service and atmosphere horrible, food great, get the food to go and enjoy it at home where you don't drink tap water. read more

I got the teriyaki tofu and my fella got the fish and chips to go. Both our meals were real tasty and the hubby kept "MMMMM"ing which is always a good sign. Went for lunch today and the food was pretty good. The pancit was amazing. I ordered the beef teriyaki and lumpia. When I first opened the teriyaki I noticed a hair inside the box. I ate some of it but it was kinda chewy and not the best meat. My girlfriend got the chicken teriyaki and lumpia. She went to eat a lumpia first and noticed a hair cooked inside the lumpia and sticking out of it. She didn't want to eat her food any more after that. read more

I can't think of anything negative about this place. We went with family one time and we're a party of 8, so we ordered almost everything in their menu. And everything tasted good. Even our picky kids get to eat a lot. This is a family-owned restaurant. And we get to meet the nice owner. We felt like we've known her for a long time, the way she entertained everybody. The young guy who took our orders was really nice too. The restaurant was packed and he's the only one taking orders but he made sure to check every table. Not familiar with Bremerton but our group needed to grab a quick lunch so we searched for "Teriyaki" and this place popped up. We ordered the standard teriyaki plates which came with 2 scoops of rice and side of veggies. We also ordered some Filipino dishes including the fried pork and fried fish and a side of lumpia. Everything tasted great and all the portions were bit enough that even with 4 people we had to ask for a to go box. Customer service was excellent. We're new to the area and I'm 1200 miles away from family. Being homesick and pregnant I was craving some real Filipino food. At first I checked on here to see what was around and saw Barrio Fiesta. We got there and it was closed. Ended up at the Filipino market next door and asked the lady where a good Filipino restaurant is and she suggested this place. As soon as I saw what they offered on their Filipino menu my eyes lit up! Dinuguan, kare-kare, etc., and a special they had today was menudo! I'm now a happy, stuffed, pregnant woman who is just a little less homesick. We ordered 3 different entrees, an order of lumpia, and a container of puto (SO MUCH FOOD!!) and it all came out to $30!
