100% would recommend this restaurant!!!!…read more we arrived right at 5pm when they open back up for the day. firstly the atmosphere and customer service is top tier. everyone is super attentive and welcoming. we started off with mixed drinks, with a very wide selection, each drink we tried was perfectly mixed and balanced. we definitely would recommend the french martini and vette city. as for appetizers, we tried the fried pickles and jalapeños. the batter was light but crunchy and flavorful and the house made ranch paired perfectly with them. main courses i would 1000% recommend the chicken rosa. such a delicious dish with a creamy mash potatoes side and perfectly seasoned and sautéed fresh vegetable side. the lemon caper sauce paired with the chicken was stunning. chicken was cooked perfectly and still very juicy. the basil pasta dish was al dente with a rich, herby, and creamy sauce. the crème brûlée was the most delicious dessert to end the meal with a perfectly crunchy sugar top not too charred and the crème part was flavored very nicely with a good vanilla taste. 5/5 WOULD RECOMMEND

It a hard balance when for some. The atmosphere was modern chic with farm house feel. The pour on my wine was subpar along with my dinner portion of salmon. For these reasons, I can't give them a four star or better review.

We came back to Lisa's Fifth Street Diner, and I'm happy to report our first visit wasn't a fluke!…read moreIf you're looking for good old-fashioned diner food with portions that make you wonder if they're trying to feed you for the rest of the day, this is the place. This time we put both breakfast and lunch to the test. The breakfast came loaded with eggs, crispy hash browns, a serious pile of bacon, biscuits and gravy, plus a blueberry pancake that practically needed its own ZIP code. The biscuits were fluffy, the gravy was creamy and peppered just right, and they definitely weren't stingy with the bacon. We also tried the fried fish with mashed potatoes, baked beans and coleslaw. The fish came out golden and crispy, and the sides were exactly what you'd hope for from a hometown diner simple, hearty comfort food. And here's a little insider tip worth knowing: Fridays are dessert day! If the banana pudding is available, GET IT. Seriously. It is absolutely amazing and worth saving a little room for which is easier said than done with these portions! One thing worth knowing before you go: come hungry! The portions are generous, and this isn't one of those places where you leave wondering what you're going to eat afterward. Just as important as the food, the atmosphere still has that friendly, small-town diner feel we enjoyed the first time. Good food, good portions, friendly people, and no need to dress fancy, just bring an appetite. Our original 5-star review still stands. We'll definitely be back... although next time I may need to fast beforehand!

We had been avoiding it like the plague since then, because why would I want to give my money to some jerk off who thinks we're "inbreds" (his words, you can look it up). All that said, we were talking to some friends the other day and they said we should try it again because the seafood selection was fantastic, soooooo we decided to hit it up for our anniversary. We got the oysters, and they were some small guys but out waiter Eli (ask for him) said that they were easy coast even though they typically get west coast. It was nice to have a knowledgeable wait staff that was super friendly and happy to talk through anything with us that we had questions on. We got the steak and sea bass and both were great! Creamed spinach and baked potato as sides were a good call as well. We took some friends with us and one of them got the shrimp and grits, and those grits were LEGIT. Soooooo, if you're looking for a fine dining experience in Bowling Green you could really either do Tony's or Hickory & Oak. In my opinion, Hickory & Oak gets my vote because Josh is one of us and I doubt I'll ever read any articles about him ripping off his employees or calling Kentuckians names, but this experience was so good at Tony's that I might swallow my pride here and there and stop in every once in a while for a delicious steak or some really great bourbon and wine.

We tried this hotel steak and seafood restaurant for the first time and left with mixed feelings…read more The online reservation system had no option to select seating when I booked, nor did anyone mention seating when they called to confirm our reservation, so we requested a booth from the hostess when we arrived. We were told they were fully booked, yet those exact booths sat empty during our entire meal. Fortunately, our waiter was phenomenal--incredibly upbeat, knew the menu well, and provided reasonably quick service despite the high volume of business the evening we visited. While the ambiance strives to match the restaurant's self-representation of being a fine dining steak and seafood establishment, the food fell a bit flat. I ordered the Filet Mignon and my husband ordered the New York strip; both were only a few tallies above what you could get at any decent, everyday restaurant. We also both ordered a lobster tail, which turned out to be a bit tough. I will say they do have the largest shrimp, which we really enjoyed, and their cocktail sauce was quite tasty. Ultimately, management needs to remember that they are still just a hotel restaurant. To truly captivate customers and justify their fine-dining labels and pricing, they need to refine their seating communication, make everyone who walks in feel seen and appreciated, and inject real culinary ambition into the kitchen, taste, and presentation. While we still enjoyed our evening, I personally do not see us returning. With that being said, they seem to still be thriving, which is great. It's just not for us.

Staff were very pleasant and helpful. The traditional wings were AWESOME! They were fried crispy and the house-made buffalo medium tasted terrific. I was disappointed by the fact that they don't make their ranch or blue cheese, however, the ranch was surprisingly very good. The blue cheese was just okay. All bottled drinks. I will definitely return and would strongly recommend!

The Good: Staff friendliness - The guy at the counter was super friendly and it felt genuine. Just the type of person you want representing your restaurant. Sauce - I got the basic Buffalo sauce for my first try and it was very good. I was told it's made in-house. Fries - They were outstanding! Fresh cut, lightly breaded and thick. Atmosphere - Very nice, but could use some more space. They did a great job with the space they have, but don't expect to get a seat. The Bad(ish): Wait - Took about 25 minutes, but it was fresh and tasty Sauce Options - You can't get two different sauces if you get 10 wings, which can be done at many other wing restaurants, so I was limited to trying only 1 flavor. Wings - They were a little soggy and could have been more crisp. I'll ask for well done next time. Online Ordering - The website says you can order online but when I tried it would not work so I had to order takeout onsite. Neutral: Price - I wouldn't say it's a super good deal, but it won't break the bank. Overall, I really enjoyed the food and the positives definitely outweighed any negatives. It's ALMOST to the amazing level, with the sogginess of the wings keeping it from 5 stars, but I would go 4.5 stars if Yelp allowed it. It is better than any other wing restaurant in BG and I'm looking forward to trying other sauces in the future.
