This such a cute relaxing place for brunch. Had the Bistro burger and my wife had the soup and salad. Sweet potato fries were crisp and delicious. The burger was fabulous as was the soup and salad. Service was quick and on point. Will definitely stop again when driving through town. They are worth the detour off of 65 if you're just driving through. Give this place a try. read more

Thank you Yelpers for directing me to this place. I was looking for a "soup and sandwich" place and not a commercial chain restaurant. This place fit the bill. It's a small place and have a variety of food from salads, to quiche to the soup and sandwich I was looking for. The soup they had was a Hoppin John. I had to look it up as I've never heard of it. Apparently I've been living under a rock. It's a soup with sausage, rice and beans in a delicious broth. Add it with a grilled cheese sandwich and it was a delicious meal. Sweet little place with wonderful staff. We ordered the special and a club sandwich. Realized we miscalculated our time line and needed to get it to-go. They happily did that for us. We take off and open our containers to eat (and drive, I know I know). To my surprise...there was a scripture taped to the inside of my container. I almost cried. I lost my mother last year to cancer, I just went through cancer treatments, & I lost my step mother a month ago. The person in the back had no idea the scripture (and I'm not very religious) they placed in MY container "He heals the broken hearted". Even better is my son's container stated "be humble". He's 16, very fitting. My mother used to write scriptures on note cards and send them out to us sisters that now we treasure. So thank you! We're not impressed too often. But were really impressed with our visit here. We have some minor comments which I'll post at the end but those comments are really insignificant and didn't impact how much we enjoyed our lunch. Our server was friendly, helpful and attentive. We ordered the Bistro Burger; one with fries and one with the Bistro side salad. The burger was tender, juicy, and clearly the ground beef was mixed in the kitchen--so, there's attention to detail. Served with sautéed onion, raspberry preserves and pimento cheese with a delicious bun made for a really enjoyable experience. My fries were crisp on the outside and tender on the inside...perfectly fried. The salad was amazingly fresh with a variety of greens and the poppyseed vinaigrette was perfect along with fresh strawberries. Definitely A+ territory. Our small comments were that the onions would have played a more meaningful role if they were completely caramelized and the raspberry preserves was a bit sparse. The burger could have been elevated even further with a little stronger boost of the sweetness the preserves provide. But with that said, no complaints at all and only joy. If you're in Bowling Green, do yourself a favor and stop by here at least once. read more

They seem to have something for everybody on their menu! The food alone was five stars. I gave The Bike Rack Bistro four stars, because they seemed to have some trouble with their staff on this day. We had bookmarked the bike rack and wanted to go here for about half a year, so we were excited to get a chance to go a couple weeks ago. The other yelp reviews looked great, but we were very disappointed. The portion sizes are pretty small for what you pay, especially the sandwiches. They honestly look smaller than even homemade sandwiches, and don't seem all that more special. I got the burger and wasn't asked how i wanted it cooked. It was served well done, and looked like it was made from low quality ground beef. Again, rather small for $9.50. They also put sweet stuff (jam and the like) on pretty much everything, which i usually enjoy, but it gets to be a little much. It feels like they are trying to be unique, but fail to deliver on the basics such as good portion sizes and quality food. read more

The hours seem a little odd; which is off putting, but when I finally managed to catch them open one day, I had lunch there w/ a friend. My friend didn't like her food at all... but to be frank, she's rather picky. I am not picky. I had a chicken salad sandwich & it was honestly kind of bland. I think the price for drinks is a little high, too, but I'm definitely going to try this place again & go a different route with the food, because the menu sounds so promising. I'll give an updated review after that & hopefully it's 5 stars next time, because I have now moved very close by & would like to make this my new "regular" spot. read more

What a darling place on the inside! It doesn't look like much on the outside. They should do something about this because it's a cute little house if given some extra love! Anyway, the food is very yummy. Portions are not in commercial portions, which I find a good thing! I had one of their burgers with broccoli and apple side salad. My mom wasn't impressed with the fries with pimiento cheese melted on it but I liked it when she allowed me a taste! My husband liked his burger and sweet potato fries. Was passing through and decided on this local family op. Great choice. Located in a converted old house, I loved the aesthetic and feel with an immediate greeting. Had the bacon burger with the spicy pimento cheese and a side of seasonal fruit. So good! Everyone seemed to be regulars? At the very least enjoying themselves In other news! This place is also doubles as specialty running shoe store in the back. And I found a pair!! (Quite the feat. Pun intended.) Turns out that Patrick (co-owner) is an accomplished coach and athlete (my words, not his). Loved everything about my experience...except that I didn't get dessert for myself. We have been in Bowling Green for over a year now and only just now made a trip to the Bike Rack Bistro. It's a super cute little space inside an old house. The decorations were great for Halloween and the employees were all dressed up! They had a unique menu with sandwiches and soups and I think a few salad options. I got the pimiento grilled cheese sandwich with baked potato soup. The sandwich was pretty good but not quite as delicious as I had hoped it would be. The fruit jam on the grilled cheese was a good idea and I've had similar before but that particular jam just didn't quite work with the cheeses. The baked potato soup was very disappointing. It didn't taste like there were any seasonings in it... I ended up adding a lot of salt and pepper just to try and help it. I figured a restaurant with a more unique menu would've been able to spice up a plain potato soup. Oh well. The only other bad thing about the place is the prices for the amount of food you get. It's about $7-$10 per person for a sandwich and it's not a large sandwich. I typically prefer places that give me a lot of food for what I pay. All that said, it truly wasn't a bad experience and I would recommend visitors to stop by if they want something unique to Bowling Green. The food was alright and the house it's in is fun. read more

I had put off visiting Bike Rack Bistro for a while because it seemed wrong to not visit by bike and since most of my riding is done in the afternoon when they are closed, I waited. I finally had a free day so my son and I hopped on our bikes, grabbed a card game and rode across town for lunch. When we arrived we found a bike rack out front (I'm glad the name wasn't ironic) that sadly didn't appear to be used enough as we had to pull it away from the ramp a bit so the bike tires would fit. The restaurant is in an old converted house which seemed to work nicely. The host was super nice and very patient while we looked the menu over, plus he informed us that since we biked in the beverage is on the house! We paid up front and decided to eat at a small, two person table on the front porch. I went with the King of Clubs (minus the mayo) and fruit salad while my son chose the Henry Bain burger and pimento cheese fries. We were very happy with all our choices. Portions were just right for the price and the food was honestly better than I expected (since I ordered a standard club sandwich). The server (which surprised us since we paid upfront) never let our drinks run out. The overall experience was outstanding, and I would highly recommend riding your bike for breakfast or lunch. Also, don't forget to tip your server, with paying upfront it's easy to forget. read more

The owner/chef is in and out of the dining room. The first time we had breakfast, which was almost alarmingly cheap but was just great - eggs, hash browns, toast, coffee, oatmeal, fruit- all were really good. The next day we came back for lunch and the place was BUSY- but still had room for us to sit right down. Service was still fabulous. I had a black bean burger and it was huge!! And delicious, and obviously freshly made. Sweet potato fries were crunchy and awesome. My husband had a sandwich and it was piled high with meat, and he raved about the potato salad. Visiting from out of town and passing through on our way back to Nashville. I found this restaurant on Yelp and it had good reviews. When you come in you order at the front desk and pay and then pick a table and they bring your food out to you. I tried the Spicy Pimento Grilled cheese sandwich with raspberry preserves and chose the fruit salad as my side. The sandwich had a nice combination of sweet and spicy flavor and the bread was nice and toasty. The fruit salad was fresh and made with strawberries, blueberries, grapes, pineapple and cantaloupe. Good service and a cute bistro atmosphere. Would recommend it to anyone in the area. read more

I was visiting a friend of mine in Bowling Green this past summer and she had been super excited to show me this cute restaurant. We ended up planning to have breakfast there the morning before my flight back home and it was the perfect send off! I LOVED this place and it definitely would be a favorite of mine if I lived in the area! The food was good and the staff were kind and attentive. The cute house-turned-restaurant is part of what gives it a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere and the artsy, all-things-bicycle-related decor adds to and completes the overall charm of the place. A great place to sit, enjoy your food, and take in the creativity around you. We got a chance to chat with the sweet, friendly owners of the bistro and honestly one of the many highlights of the meal was getting to know them and hear their story, their dreams for the business, and to see their unique vision already in front of you and meet the people who decided to go after their dreams and are watching it grow. (I know that's a lot of "and"s, but it was a really cool experience and IS a really cool restaurant/business! It's like watching the American dream unfold while you get to eat AND enjoy an artsy, welcoming atmosphere). I don't write many reviews, but this great experience stuck with me, enough so that I am taking the time to write about it months later and want to give it the shout out that it deserves. read more

So lucky to have found this spot for lunch while passing through from Nashville to Louisville. You're greeted upon entering and order right then. Food is brought to you at your table quickly, and everyone here was so warm and friendly. My husband had the burger with fries, loved it. I had the hot brown omg it was delicious. Not feeling like fries, i ordered the potato salad. Homemade, with egg and pickles in it, really really good. Bought a coffee cake to go, we're expecting to be wowed considering everything else we had. If you're local, or just passing through, make your own luck and stop in here for wonderful food and service. A+ read more

We had the perfect lunch here on 10/1/20. Honestly, everything was on point. We were in town visiting a relative and she took us here. The chicken salad sandwich was creamy and good with pecans and grapes. The quiche was fluffy and creamy the way it should be. Their peanut butter pie is delicious - light and tasty, not heavy and sugary. The ambiance of the historic home where the restaurant is located is nice and the servers are attentive. Therefore, I'm giving this bistro a 100%, or 5 out of 5 stars! Highly recommended! read more

Tried the grilled spicy peminto cheese and raspberry sauce sandwich with a broccoli apple side salad, it was fresh and very flavorful I enjoyed it very much! My lunch companion had the peminto cheese burger which came dressed with bacon, onion and raspberry sauce with potato salad side...In his words "it was yummy"! We topped it off with a large slice of their "real" key lime pie...most tasty! We will definitely make a return trip or two...would like to try out the breakfast menu! read more
