Had the dinner special last night and overall it was a solid meal. The rest of the plate was fine--good flavors, decent portion, and everything else tasted as expected. The only real downside was the cheese on the special; it came out watered down and lacked that rich, creamy texture you want. Not a deal-breaker, but it was noticeable. We used to really like this restaurant, but probably will not be back. 1. Service was extremely slow, even though the restaurant was empty. 2 My husband ordered a vegetation meal. He was brought a taco with meat. They did offer to replace it, but we had already waited so long, we did not have time to wait again. 3. My girls and I ordered the El Charro chicken, the rice was crunchy and there was barely any cheese on it. 4. Went to pay our $80 bill, charged an extra $3 because we were paying with a card instead of cash, which I understand. Might be nice if they had a sign on the front door alerting customers to this. Would have also been courteous of them to offer a discount for bringing my husband meat in his vegetarian taco. read more

Gave it another try. We had the chicken Fajitas The chicken was dry no seasoning not even salt. Had the beef chimichanga again the little tiny chunks of steak unseasoned. Salsa taste like tomato sauce. The chips were greasy and tasted like old grease. When I paid the cashier asked me how the food was I told him not so good very bland. Lots of food - tasted great - big shrimp in the ElCharro Fajitas. Juicy steak and chicken along with great vegetables was about enough for two. Cheese sauce was good - not different then most. Had dinner there recently with a small group. The chips placed on the table tasted rancid. Some people ate them drenched in salsa... I could not. They even brought us a hot, fresh basket and they were also terrible. When was the last time they changed the oil? Most of the group was happy with their food, I was not. My order of grilled shrimp tacos had almost no shrimp in them and were not "grilled shrimp" at all. It was soft tacos with a creamy cheese mixture of some veg and tiny shrimp, similar to salad shrimp. Not what is described in the menu. The restaurant is noisy, but we could talk over it and the service was a little slow, it was a busy night...fine, all to be expected for a weekend. But my food was not worth ordering. I would recommend reading the menu carefully and asking questions before ordering. I was sorely disappointed. read more

This trip started like any other which was excited to eat delicious Mexican food. We sat outside and our waiter was EXTREMELY nice. We ordered our drinks and food. The food came out which was also good. I had the Jalisco Fajitas (they forgot to bring my tortillas which again, waiter was extremely nice and brought them to me quickly). So, if my experience was normal why the 1 star? Because as we were getting ready to leave after we paid, the Mexican music that was playing ended and started playing full on rap. The music had the "F" word, the "B" word, and the "N" word. That music is inappropriate for a family friendly restaurant especially when I had my 3 year old with me. I was so shocked we hurried out of there and will not return to eat which is a shame because the food is good and the service has always been good there. So, if you aren't easily offended, I would try this restaurant. read more

I don't know if the menu has been dumbed down to cater to Midwest intolerance of spice, flavor, or zzzzing. -but damn....quite possibly the blandest chow I've ever had. I couldn't put enough salt or hot sauce on any of it to remind me it was even 'Mexican' food. The beef was like they just cooked it and threw it in the tortilla, no seasoning or salt. The chicken was like that canned stuff you may have had from the grocery store. I thought it was a joke, maybe - but, nay! I wanted to walk to nearby Walmart to get some sauces, spices, and basic seasonings to put on the stuff they brought out. The host staff was....present...mostly....in body. I've been there a few times but the last visit we never had a waiter come to bring us water or take our order. Had the carnitas plate and it was delicious (I did take out due to COVID-19). The food was ready within 10 minutes of me calling in the order. The salsa was not spicy but it still had flavor, and the mild salsa is probably for people who don't want to be overwhelmed by spiciness on their food. My 11 month old daughter eats everything that comes in front of her mouth...except this food. My tacos tasted like dirty water (I lived in Africa so I have a good comparison).
