I hired C&C to cable a large cedar with two main trunks showing signs of splitting. Cabling is a well-established arborist practice using metal cable or braided rope, and that's what we discussed and agreed on. On install day, I got a text saying they didn't have the cable ratchet they needed and asking if I was okay with ratchet straps "for now." I assumed this was temporary. Daniel showed up, installed standard yellow Harbor Freight tow straps in about 40 minutes, and told me that was the finished job, despite the $500 premium I paid for professional cabling. I objected and offered to cover the cost of the straps if he'd come back and do it properly. He agreed to two separate dates (4/28 and 5/24) and no called/no showed both times. He then told me to buy my own cabling material and he'd install it, a strange request after two missed appointments and a month and a half of delay (I'm also not the expert). I bought heavy duty black straps just so it wouldn't look so out of place, let him know, and then didn't hear from him for over a month despite reaching out repeatedly (6/8, 6/13, 6/22, 6/25, 6/29, 6/30). The install was only finally completed after I threatened legal action and prepared a demand letter. I never got the professional cabling job I paid for, just two months of being ignored and misled. Look elsewhere.

Our property is in the woods, and it is unique because it goes up against a ravine, so bucket trucks can't really access the trees in the back. We had three other quotes from different local companies; all of them were really expensive, and scheduling was a pain (1-2 months out, cancellations with rain, etc.). Benjamin had a little trouble finding the property for the quote, but that's because we built the house recently and GPS isn't always cooperative. I had to call the company to see where he was at. The woman who answered the phone for the company was always kind and understanding. The man who did the quote was the company owner. He was willing to work with us on the price, and he said he could get it taken care of the following week (wow, no 1-2 month wait!). We decided to go ahead and schedule the tree removal. While the company did show up at 8 instead of the 12-4 window we were given, this wasn't a big deal (we told them we were going to be home anyway). They did an amazing job taking down the tree and were done within an hour. Very professional group. They had to take the tree down in sections but were very careful, and they were thoughtful about the property (minimal damage of other trees, despite it being a giant oak going down). Overall, we are really impressed with the work. When we need a tree taken down again (we live in the woods, so we definitely will), we will call them first. Highly recommended.
