Municipal Coffee has officially become our go-to spot! It's tucked just inside of Marky Mark's Municipal Athletic-wear store just off Coast Highway in O-side. It's truly the kind of place you find once and then keep coming back to. The vanilla lattes are beautifully crafted; smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced without being overly sweet. And then there's Camden... he completely elevates the experience. You can tell he genuinely cares about the craft. From serving espresso in a ceramic cup to walking you through the tradition of pairing it with sparkling water (very European, very cool), it turns a simple coffee run into something memorable. And the brownie... the brownie... wow. Warmed to perfection with thick walnuts and enjoyed out on the patio, it's dangerously good. Absolutely LOVE this place! I first discovered Municipal last year after realizing one of the owners is Mark Wahlberg and as a longtime fan, I had to check it out. First off, having Urth Caffé inside the store is such a game changer. The coffee is incredible, and the whole setup is just next level. It's not your typical cramped coffee shop. There's actually space to sit, work, and enjoy your time without feeling rushed or squeezed in. The vibe here is unmatched. It's become one of those spots where you can get work done, meet up with people, or just hang out. Kamden, the GM of the coffee shop, is one of the most welcoming and positive people you'll meet. He genuinely makes your experience fun and memorable every single time. This spot is not just for shopping but has an adorable Coffee Cafe by Urth Cafe! I'm not sure how my husband found this place but it's his go-to Coffee Spot for coffee beans to make at home. We also popped in today to grab some freshly brewed coffees. We dropped in on a Sunday morning and were pleasantly surprised by all this place had to offer. The coffee's what drew us in. Seating inside and out was comfy and chic. But we noticed a sale on clothes going on and ended up getting an amazing deal on some nice pieces for me, my husband, and my daughter. This spot is such a unique and fun concept, it's part coffee shop, part boutique, part gym, and part barbershop. Everything feels really clean and well thought out. I went to check out the athletic wear and ended up loving the clothes. They're super soft, stylish, and flattering so it is great for the gym or running errands in comfort. The sizing seemed pretty standard (S-XL) and true to size. I also ordered a matcha latte, which was delicious, and my little one got a hot chocolate that they really enjoyed. They use URTH Café tea and pastries, which is a lovely touch if you're familiar with the brand. Overall, it's a great spot to grab a coffee and browse or meet up with friends for a low-key hangout. I have now been to this café twice. The first time was totally fine and the guy gave me a nice rundown on what they serve. This time was a little different. The girl working was pretty short. That's fine. No biggie. I ended up paying $7.75 for a double shot latte so just be warned it's pricey. I respect that they use good beans and it's organic so it's higher quality. When I received my drink, it was so strong that it tasted like gasoline. I drink coffee every day. I always get a double shot. This was like the equivalent of a 3 or 4 shot drink. They pull ristretto always, so bear that in mind. This is when the kind gentleman barista joined the bar and helped me to sort out the drink. When I asked him how much caffeine was in each shot he claimed that there are 200 mg in each shot. Most shots of espresso have 75. For some reason that didn't seem right. He told me "the coffee world is confusing." Sorry? I'm not confused. But your product is very different from your competitors. In the end, he offered me a larger cup with extra milk to even out my shots. But I think I'm looking at a 400 mg caffeine drink - not what I expected but still very tasty. So, in conclusion, don't ask questions, know that their drinks are strong, and be ready to pay on the higher end for higher quality end coffee. read more

Their Baristas Anna and Keeva are very simply put the BEST in town. They make the most amazing Hazelnut lattes. To compliment their coffees they also have wonderful pastry collection. In the back they have a wonderful lounge area perfect for getting work done. As for their clothing they have a wide selection of workout and golf attire. This is a new retail clothing store in South Oceanside touted as their flagship store. The space offers a cafe (Urth Caffe) as well as a barber chair that someone said will eventually open for special events such as providing haircuts to veterans. They also have a really nice, inviting area in the back of the store where you can sit and enjoy a pastry and chat with a friend. Since this is a new store, it wasn't very busy on the day that I was there, but there were plenty of workers there to help out while I looked around the store, hoping to make a purchase. The prices were a little bit high, but the fabric of the clothing was very soft and stretchy. These are absolutely comfortable clothes. I have a couple of their hoodies that I absolutely adore. Coffee was on the high-end and I'm not sure the syrups were made in house to justify the price, but the the reason I'm even writing the review is because they made my latte with oat milk and I didn't realize it till I was out of the parking lot. So I have a coffee that is undrinkable and cost $8,same price as my breakfast burrito. Otherwise the espresso taste is strong and good, so hoping we can rectify the problem and try again. read more

We buy coffee by the pound here now we've been long time La Costa Coffee fans but not anymore. Having a personable staff is what most every business lacks. Space is nice. Staff is nice. It has a streetwear/marky mark vibe which is refreshing to see in San Diego. Not an watercolored palm tree in sight, thank god. There's a little barber shop for Vibes. Lots of places to sit and work. The bad - the matcha is terrible. It's one of those places that just shouldn't do it since they're stingy with the match powder. It's a cup of oat milk with a slight green tinge and some chunks in the bottom. Not good for the price. They don't have much women's clothing which seems like a missed opportunity. Two pairs of leggings only. Even the girl working there was in Lulu which was odd and didn't make me confident in what they sell. I would go back for sure. I would not order the matcha. The store didn't have a wide variety for women. I noticed the sweaters get little cotton balls . Some clothes are made in China and some in Thailand the material seems alittle cheap. I wanted to buy something so I bought a long sleeve shirt and some socks. The customer service was ok the workers were all chitchatting with one another I couldn't really asked any questions. The presentation of the place is nice. The barista rude. I will never understand how someone can work in coffee shops/restaurants and be rude like that. My husband was asking a question in regards to coffee and the baristas response was "do you want it or not". No time for rudeness. I'll take my money elsewhere.
