I agree with several previous reviews, the owner (Mary) and her staff have created a store with a very cool vibe. We just stumbled onto this place and glad we did. Awesome selection of clothes and even thought I am not much for shopping or fashion, Socorro and the rest of the team made me feel right at home. They even brought me a superb amber lager while I was trying stuff on! My wife and I had a great time and we highly recommend checking Mary's place out. So there has been alot of new development in the Carlsbad/ La Costa area and it seems the new hip trend is to build apartments/condos with retail space below it. Well that is where the den is, under some nice, new condos on Carlsbad Blvd. Surfer meets fashionista is the best way to describe this unique lil shop! The Den has an excellent varitey to choose from in all price ranges from some of the best designers out there and the staff goes out of there way to make you look and feel great. With brands like Hudson, Affliction, Aqua, 7 Diamonds, Howe & Obey, just to name a few, how can you go wrong. With the limited runs these designers have you're guaranteed to be unique. I've shopped at The Den enough that they know me & what I've purchased in the past. It helps with any new item I'm looking at and what it would also go with based on past purchases, how's that for cutomer service & believe me it really helps when picking something out. The Den Rocks!!! I have lived in the Carlsbad area for close to twenty years, and married into a fourth generation family, and love the closeness this community offers. It was a breath of fresh air to see The Den open up, a lair for Fashion( see the article in Carlsbad magazine) within walking distance.Nice drive to L.A. or O.C. for what?,traffic, headaches, rude wannabes from MA.?No thanks I'll walk or ride my bike. I have been shopping there since it's conception, I find that they not only offer exciting cutting edge new fashions but do it with extraordinary customer service!! We love this place.."surf meets fashion " and the brain child behind the concept was the first to do so here in our quaint little town, others have followed since, but none come close (that's why I found the last review so uncanny, Jenna B. you should stick to shopping at "Ragz"...) I can't say that I have bought anything at the store yet but I will as soon as more of the new lines come in. I had been searching for a store in the area that carries Affliction, Monarchy, Roar, and a few other brands and I think I have found the store. The store is small but I think it is adequate for the market in the area. When I went in, I knew that when I go back in I will be able to get a personal shopping experience, in which I will probably end up buying way too many things. read more

This place is pretentious, overpriced, and really, the clothing is not anything fantastic. The sales people made me feel unwelcome, the clothes were behind the trends, not as cutting edge as they would like you to think. If you want to pay too much for clothes that are already behind the times, and be treated poorly in the process, go ahead and shop there. Otherwise, take that nice ride up to OC or LA if you're really looking for the kind of fashion The Den claims to carry. read more

Great experience! I went into the Carlsbad location today. Kristina with a K and Annie like the orphan were extremely helpful not to mention they were hilarious! I love The Den and it's staff! It's the best men's clothing store in North County. I go there bc of their impeccable sense of style with a rock n roll edge. I had a show opening and went into the Den hoping to find a great shirt. The women who work there are always incredible at helping me find exactly the look I was hoping for and I left the store with a shirt and pair of pants that combined to be one of the best looks I Feel I've ever achieved. Thank you Mary and company for helping me feel amazing on a big night in my life. Stay Classy! Oh, and yes their women's clothes rock and it's great to get my wife gifts at The Den.
