We stopped into Munson's Chocolates to pick up a few chocolates. They sell by the pound, so the prices for pieces are pretty reasonable. The service is super friendly, and explained to us how their line worked for allergens. We tried the tiramisu, mint, dark chocolate, and caramel truffles, along the peanut butter cups. The truffles thicker outer chocolate shell than I'm used to, but the flavors are very good. The peanut butter cup was delicious, and I love how the caramel truffle was mixed with ganache so it wasn't straight caramel in the middle. They also serve frozen chocolate dipped bananas and cookie ice cream sandwiches. The service is impeccable. The staff is truly friendly and professional, always happy to help. They offer free gift wrapping on purchases from the display cases. The store is very clean and it smells like pure chocolate!!!! They also carry beautiful greeting cards to help with your gift shopping. At checkout I was offered a salted caramel chocolate sample that didn't make the photo because I ate it immediately. Visit Munson's Chocolates at Evergreen Walk for the perfect little day trip and treat! There is so much deliciousness to choose from! Service is A+ from my experience and the chocolates are so rich and pleasing. The cutest and most eye catching chocolates were the pizza slices with pepperoni made of all chocolate. I chose a box of chocolates and chocolate covered pretzels ( coconut and dark chocolate sea salt). Before leaving, I was offered the sample of the day which was a small brownie bite with pearls of crunch on top; delicious! I love the chocolate covered pretzels; the sweetest surprises is that there is a layer of caramel on the inside. Every time I'm in Manchester I always come to Evergreen walk and yet I've never been to Munson's, that is until... my most recent visit. I only got a box of 4 which came out to just a little over 2 bucks. I regret not getting more because these chocolates were awesome. Great flavor, fresh, and luxurious tasting. I'm really glad that they're still in business, especially considering that so many of the shops in this mall have closed down. Next time I'm going to get a large box :) read more

A frozen banana is dipped in a thick coating of chocolate. And I get is sprinkled with peanuts. I love chocolates any day. Chocolate from this place is good. Generally I go for assorted variety of chocolate, where I add 1 piece from each variety. The bark kind of chocolate is my favorite. Shout out to this store while dealing with COVID restrictions! Being such a small store, they reach maximum compacity very quickly but they are so well staffed and organized that I was in and out in no time. So don't be deterred if you see a line outside. Honestly, it was the quickest holiday Munson's trip I've made and I've gone every Easter and Christmas for 20+ years. First visit at this location and it was a pure delight. Staff was EXCELLENT. Difficult to decide on what to buy, but settled on dark and white chocolates, a win win for me. The "manager" was extremely nice as was staff person "Anna" who helped me. Other customers were served with the same caring and sweet personality by other staff.....just a great place. Valentine's Day shoppers are lining up outside the South Windsor store practicing Covid guidelines - as they are practiced inside the store. I have been going to Munson's since I was a child - over 60 years and love their chocolates for myself and for gifts. However, yesterday's line was 20+ outside the store so I returned today. I got there early just after they opened at 10am and joined the short line outside. Frustration by several customers who were only purchasing boxed/wrapped items grumbled about about having to stand and wait in the same line as those who hemmed-and-hawed over picking out chocolates displayed in the cases for their custom boxes. After waiting, the customer in front of me, swore and then left, putting her wrapped box back on the shelf. For efficiency, with 6 staff and 3 pay stations, one staff member could have been dedicated to quickly cash out those who purchased pre-boxed/wrapped chocolates and send them on their way. When I mentioned this to one of the staff apparently I hit a nerve and she was brusque - maybe she's heard this before. Therefore I give them two stars today only for the handling Valentine's Day shoppers. However, I will still continue to shop at Munson's. The chocolates are excellent. read more

I was really surprised at the two other reviews, as my husband and I consider these chocolates the best ever, far superior to others like Godiva, that cost more, but I guess everyone's taste is different. Every holiday and occasion, we buy them as a special treat, and the recipients have always responded with equal enthusiasm. I definitely prefer Munson's chocolates to the product of its other premium competitors. I usually select the milk breakup, and my wife selects the pecan caramel "turtles", but we have both tried many of Munson's offerings and find them superior to other select producers in every respect. I even find the dark chocolate to be a refreshing change from time to time. Munson's chocolates do not have that "waxy" aftertaste that is so often experienced with other products in the marketplace. read more

This last week I went to pick up an order I made online for some favors for my daughters baby shower. Thankfully the person who assisted me checked the actual favors to be sure everything matched my order. Sadly it did not. I had requested some labels that were supposed to say 'A sweet thank you' but instead they said something about joining in the wedding celebration! The person who was helping me was very helpful and called their main office to get the labels corrected. The shower was on Saturday and this was Wednesday! At first the person she spoke with in the main office said they could send out replacement labels but they wanted to charge me $12.50 to which the person in the SW store says she had already taken care of the charge. So the labels were supposed to go out FedEx so I would have them in time to change out before the shower. Not until after the shower did the labels finally show up, I am so glad I didn't have to pay for something I did not receive!! My daughter and I had to remove the labels and just retie the ribbons so the wrong message was not on the boxes. In conclusion I'd say be sure to check your order before leaving the store and if the person in the SW store had not been so nice this review would have been even worse. Messing up an order especially so close to when they were to be used is not good. I don't want to give this store a bad mark but if I knew the exact location of where the office was I'd give them a single star and only because the candy is so tasty. read more
