    Ackee patty
    Lacey W.

Hey readers, let's get straight to the point. Before I get into food I'll discuss everything else. Ambiance is ok it's a patty shop, it's clean and the service was very good, the lady to ring me up was very nice, no attitude or anything. Alright so time to get into the reason you're probably reading this review... The Ackee patty is a 10/10 hands down, it's very flavorful I wouldn't change anything about it. The mixed soursop juice was so refreshing. I wasn't a fan of the jerk eggplant patty but I wasn't upset at trying it out either.. I'll def be back for some more ackee patty and juice as well as trying another menu item

I am not a vegan but was plenty hungry. Stepping into this establishment ferreted by a smiling face and delicious smelling food. Service with a smile always a great Segway. I didn't intend to make a purchase when I walked in, but the smell inside this establishment convinced me. Say to me a patty labeled ackee and I could not resist. Purchased 1 patty , a ring and a chocolate chip cookie. So no pic of the cookie... devoured instantly. It was amazing, delicious, moist and the chocolate used tasted "premium ". Next was the ackee patty. The flavor of the ackee filling hit on all levels. The crust was flaky as you would expect. This was a definite hit. Looking forward to trying some of the other patties on their menu.

My coworker told me his wife had taken him to Likkle Patty Shop. It's 100 % vegan. He said they tried many different filled pastries. I decided to check it out. When I walked in I was greeted by a very nice young lady. She was knowledgeable about all the different patty's, and sweet treats. The shop had a great ambiance. They had a nice picture wall. I ordered their beef patty made with lentils. The jerk eggplant pastry had a nice kick to it. That was my favorite. The garlic coco bread was so fluffy, buttery, and garlicky. It was amazingly delicious. I bought a lemon button cookie. It was so delicious. The young lady let me taste thier root soup. The broth was very well seasoned. They also serve breakfast It was very refreshing to eat vegan food that taste so delicious. When your in the town of Windsor, CT stop by Likkle Patty Shop. To all my Yelpers lets keep eating our way through the world.

"Don't worry, about a thing 'Cause every little thing, gonna be all right" (Bob Marley) What does the word "likkle"mean? Well if you think likkle sounds like little, you are right. Likkle is a Jamaican slang word for Little, so that nugget ties in nicely with the Bob Marley lyric! Anyway, I've enjoyed Likkle Patty Shop's vegetable patties before. They're a fixture at Farmers Markets and I bought them in Coventry and Ellington. Now they have a real deal brick and mortar store near the center of Windsor and you can get your patties either fresh or frozen. I was in the area yesterday to drop off 110 pounds of non-perishable food at Foodshare, and knew I was super close to Likkle Patty so I popped in around 3:00. A delightful young lady helped me choose among what was left of their spiciest patties. The store closes at 4:00 so there wasn't a huge fresh variety remining. I ordered a Calypso Patty, an Amazing Ackee Patty ($7 each) and a $3.50 piece of plain Coco Bread (the flavored varieties were sold out). The Calypso Patty Crust is uniquely purple from Purple Corn Flour! The spicy filling is made from Caramelised Turnips, Sweet Corn, Baby Kale, Tomato, Scotch Bonnet Pepper, Herbs & Spices, and Sea Salt. It was fantastic!! Ackee is the national fruit of Jamaica. I didn't know what ackee was so I looked it up and read that it tastes like scrambled eggs when cooked. The Amazing Ackee patty's crust is yellow from annatto and turmeric, the filling is from Ackee, Scallion, Onion, Coconut Oil, Garlic, Scotch Bonnet Pepper, Herbs & Spices, and Sea Salt. It had a real mild delicate flavor, and it sure did look and taste like scrambled eggs. Amazing Ackee indeed! My two patties and the coco bread ran me $18.79 and I just realized I haven't written about the coco bread. It was soft, almost pillowy and pretty darned addictive. I really enjoyed what I bought there. The patties are flavorful, filling, pretty to look at and very satisfying.

Was so excited to take home some patties after hearing about them on Connecticut Public Radio, and they did not disappoint!! Our favorites (in order) were the eggplant, chickpea/zucchini, spinach, and spicy squash, but all of the patties we tried were really good!! The ready to eat eggplant patty was hot and delicious right away, and the frozen patties reheated perfectly in the oven with their full crispiness. The patties were full of vegetables and seasoned to perfection, and there were plenty of options to satisfy both spice and non-spice lovers. The owner's cousin was very helpful and friendly as we chose our options. The location was tucked away in a small set of business, but very conveniently located off the highway less than 15 minutes from downtown Hartford. We definitely plan on returning to get more frozen patties for a patty party!!

Split pea & green plantain soup and chickpea & zucchini patty

I tried the split pea and green plantain soup. Delicious with small chucks of plantain. Flavorful but not spicy. Chickpea and zucchini patty is so flavorful and the crust is soft and delicious. I'm not vegan but would go back again and again for these items.

What an awesome Vegan and Black owned business this grab and go Jamaican Patty shop is. And don't let the word Vegan turn you away. This business started out as treats being sold at local farmers markets and the stand was always busy and would sell quickly out of items. I showed up around 10am on a Saturday as to get a chance at grabbing certain items before they sold out of them. As soon as I opened the door we were greeted by happy staff ready to give us suggestions. Now you can't grab a patty and not get coco bread and I mean who can resist Coco bread topped with garlic and herbs definitely not me. So we grabbed 2 of those. They also had Plain & Everything Coco Bread. They advertise on their Facebook page what patties they are making for the day. So of the options available we went with 2 Spinach, 1 Broccoli and 1 Jerk Eggplant. The patties and Coco Bread were nice and warm. And, I was swayed into grabbing their Signature Soursop Blush to wash everything down and let me tell you it didn't disappoint. It was refreshing with a light rose floral and tangy from the SourSop I'll definitely grab a Family size one next time because I will be back. We brought our box full of warm treats home and the smell of garlic filled my car the whole ride back it was torture as soon as we got home we immediately opened the flap on the Coco Breads and stuffed them with one of the Spinach Patties. The first bite was Heaven the nice soft warm and Garlicky Coco Bread and then slightly crispy exterior of the Spinach patty filled with garlicy spinach, mushrooms, red peppers, onions, cumin and coriander. My older daughter kept asking for more bites the hubby was going on and on about the Coco Bread. He said next time we all have to go and eat them when they are nice hot straight outta the case. He loves to eat things that are piping hot.....I thought it was perfectly warm......I prefer enjoying things without burning my mouth. So you know from above that I had bought 2 other Patties, we were stuffed so we saved them for later that night. I just popped them in my oven at 350 for about 10 minutes and they were perfectly heated up. We split them the Broccoli one was really flavorful reminded me a little of the Broccoli pies the Italian families make but the crust was so much more flavorful and added to the experience. The Jerk Eggplant one is considered their Hottest of the bunch. It was perfectly spicy were you still taste the flavors of the interior but had a little slap of heat to the mouth. I eat spicy food all the time so to others who don't enjoy a bit of spice it may seem hotter to them. If you haven't been down here you definitely need to stop in a grab a patty and Coco bread. During the Spring and Fall this will be a great place to grab something and head over to the Windsor Boat launch right down the street and walk the trail while chomping on a delicious patty stuffed cocoa bread and drinking a soursop blush.

What a great honor to highlight a black owned business during Black history month! I've been obsessed with their Patties since checking them out at a local event. So I was happy that they now have a store front in Windsor. I love the concept of fresh vegan Patties. So many different and colorful options to choose from. Hands down my favorite item is the coco garlic bread. It's super buttery and delicious! Combining it with the curry chickpea patty took it to another level! So incredibly amazing!! Highly recommend checking them out for fresh vegan options!

INCREDIBLE- the service was amazing - Cairo was so polite and patient with me! I left with a few items including the MOST beautifully flavored cherry chocolate cookie I've ever had. 10/10 I recommend.

Found this place after browsing 'Yelp' for a Friday lunch spot. It's a quaint grab-and-go restaurant with vegan patty options. I decided to purchase the chickpea patty, spinach patty, a scone, garlic cocoa bread and a frozen lentil patty. Before driving away, I ate the chickpea patty with the cocoa bread and it was delicious. On my way home had the scone as my dessert, which was also great and not too sweet. The staff was friendly and the place is extremely clean, so I would definitely recommend. The prices are a bit steep, so I wouldn't go often, but I'll definitely support this business again.

Two years ago I wrote a review saying how much I liked Paradise Restaurant. Well, I'm here to tell…read moreyou that NOTHING has changed. Again I had the jerk pork , which was tender and flavorful. And the jerk sauce was beyond,beyond- exquisitely sweet and incredibly spicy, just as it should be. I would highly reccomend Paradise. In fact, don't walk but run to an incredibly satifying culinary treat. Great job once again !

My favorite…read moreoxtail now lacks flavor, some pieces were under cooked & chewy; the Jerk pork tastes like store bought jerk seasoning? It's just average now so I really need to find a better Jamaican as my go to spot. However, I'd still give 3 stars for the food for being average but not bad. What drags the score further down was what the cashier/server did. It was the first time a guy served my food here, it never happed with any of the ladies before. He hit the 18% tip box on the screen without my consent, saying "this is where you tip" & just hit it & went head charged 18% for a take out without my consent. As with most takeout places, tip is not expected because there's no sit down service. You can't just charge tip without customer consent. Taking money without consent is technically stealing, I was shocked. Maybe that's why I saw half the people there paid cash? Anyways, super disappointed with my lunch experience today. After 10 years of loving paradise Jamaican, telling everyone how great it was, I think I am gonna have to walk away from now on. Goodbye Paradise.

Nice little location, plenty of tables to eat at in the dining section if you're inclined to eat there. Interesting murals on the walls and some pictures of prominent Jamaican people in history. They don't have a menu on the wall per se, but a paper menu on top of the counter you can look at that looks like it changes daily as well as a menu online. A nice young man rang up my order, which was quickly filled by a pleasant lady that I chatted with while she fulfilled my order. I gotta tell you my car was smelling good on the way home! Everything was wonderful, the oxtails were very flavorful, somewhat labor intensive to eat but hey.....that's oxtails! The jerk chicken had excellent flavor and with a decent spice level kick. The rice and peas were awesome as well as the steamed cabbage. We also picked up a jerk chicken sandwich on coco bread with fries (which was only $8.95!!!) that was very tasty and a couple of mild beef patties for good measure. We enjoyed every single item we brought home from 1Love. Definitely will be making a trip back again soon. Stop by and check them out, you won't be sorry you did!
