Adorable little cupcake and cookie shop! It's a bit confusing to locate at first, but when you do there's tons of parking available! The shop itself is sparkling white and all of the goodies are arranged so beautifully behind the case. We loved our chocolate and red velvet cupcakes and especially the edible sheep on top! I can tell they were baked with love!! Delicious frosting and rich cupcake base. Will definitely be back again! Thank you!

Way too expensive, about $5 for a cookie, which is only above average, but for $5 should sing and dance.

I moved back east not long ago, and finally got the chance to check out Blue House Bagels in July…read more Since then, I have been coming here (quite literally) every weekend. First, the staff are amazing here, they are friendly and kind and always keep up a good vibe and attitude no matter how packed or busy the place gets (and trust me, it gets PACKED). The interior of this place is adorable, and feels like you're really stepping into an old preserved colonial home. The bagels are always fresh, and due to the sourdough they don't cause any bloating or make you feel stuffed in a bad way. They're always coming up with new combinations and flavors and it's hard sometimes to know what to pick but I am not complaining! The biggest thing to keep in mind is get here early if you can, as they don't have much parking (you can sometimes find parking in the small lot next door). I am a huge bagel breakfast sandwich fan, and I can see myself coming here every weekend for a very, VERY long time. If you get the chance, grab some of their starter that they sell in house, on Amazon, or even at Shoprite in Canton if they still have their display going! Keep doing what youre doing Blue House Bagels, you guys have it right.

The Blue House Bagel Co. was another business I had unreasonably gargantuan expectations for. I…read morehave wanted to visit for a very long time, and heard extremely positive things about it. Never mind its awards. So when I finally went this morning, I was afraid the bar was set at a level it couldn't possibly live up to. Somehow, it still blew me away. It's an adorable building (yes, it is a blue house). The side door main entrance was open and clearly marked, and then the layout inside was so well thought out and it couldn't have been easier to navigate as a first time customer. I had a pretty good idea of wanted I wanted ahead of time, and was just hoping that even though it was a weekday, they weren't already sold out of anything (I know they get extremely busy and have a very devoted following). They had been posting a lot about their Egyptian dukkah bagels. I love dukkah (they use cardamom, sesame seed, clove, paprika, fennel & E.V.O.O.), so I ordered that as my bagel choice for their Blue House sandwich. They have many brilliant sandwich options as well as the option to build your own. They also have many house made schmears, pastries and other goodies. They even do stuffed bagels. I believe they are a completely, if not predominantly, sourdough based bakery. So my sandwich, the Blue House, had egg, white cheddar, heirloom tomato, greens, and herb aioli. Watching them make the sandwich was incredible and a treat in itself. The level of care and craftsmanship they put into each sandwich is rare. I could tell which one was mine and just had a blast watching! Very happy foodie. The bagel was toasted just enough, but the chewy sourdough texture wasn't lost. It was a remarkable bagel. One of the best I have ever had. I hesitate to call it the best after just one visit, but it was good enough to entertain that thought. The sourdough recipe also made it extremely light and it agreed with my finicky health/dietary needs better than any other bagel I've had in years. The topping ratios were just perfect. Rarely do bagel sandwiches with an aioli have enough, and they put plenty without making it overly saucy. Just brilliant sandwich construction, which really is not taken seriously enough. I brought a French toast bagel to my mom with a tub of their apple & honey cream cheese, which I tasted of course. Whipped and super light. Flavor unlike any other schmear I've had before. It was an incredible flavor. My mind really was blown. Everyone working was cheerful, warm, and friendly. It was a wonderful environment, and from what I had seen on social media it seems like it's always that way and I great place to be with passionate people behind it. I honestly see it being very hard to go to another bagel shop any time soon. This was just an overall fabulous experience. Every aspect. I cannot wait to go back. I will say it had very steady business around 8:45 on a Wednesday, so be prepared for them to be busy.

We popped into one of those pop ups today when we picked up our pre-ordered loaf of Rosemary and Thyme Sourdough Focaccia from Honey Bear Bakery on West Mary Drive in Simsbury, not too far from the Stop and Shop on Bushy Hill Road. Honey Bear sells a variety of sourdough breads (classic and whole wheat), cinnamon rolls, dinner rolls, and three types of sourdough focaccia (Rosemary & Thyme, Jalapeno Cheddar, or Cinnamon Sugar), chocolate chip cookies, and loaves of honey wheat bread. By the way, they mill their own wheat flour daily. They have a "farmstand" out front but suggest you place an order through their website (like we did). Our loaf of Rosemary and Thyme Focaccia (infused with fresh herbs and olive oil) was $12. I have to say that the website ordering experience and resulting communication were excellent. They accept PayPal and sent me a few e-mails and texts reminding me of my order and pick-up day and time. There is a kiosk on the side of the road at their address, and the names of their preordered customers are written on the boxes. Walk up customers have a box to place their cash. Our Sourdough Focaccia was delicious, I mean really full of flavor! We popped it in the oven for a teense and had it for dinner with smoked salmon, cream cheese and a bit of chopped onion. We were so impressed with their overall product and customer service that we went back the next day for some amazing looking cinnamon rolls! As if everything Honey Bear has isn't enough, well they also run sourdough baking classes!

The cheddar, jalapeno, and sourdough all tied in together perfectly. I look forward trying the various flavors. If you love sourdough, I highly recommend ordering from this baker!

If you prefer, call ahead and they will build one fresh to your liking for you to pick up and bake at home. The interior shopping area is small. As for the Housatonic location we ordered some fabulous Almond Croissants and Baguette and San Francisco Bread loaf. Whoa delicious.
