I have used Dixon Florist (now Munster Florist) for the last 3 or 4 years and can only offer praise for their outstanding service.

I followed the shop on facebook and their arrangements are stunning. I drove from Crown Point to Munster to order an arrangement. The flowers are beautiful but what is more important to me is customer service. This guy was not friendly at all. What a shame his customer service skills weren't at least half as nice as the arrangement. He needs to keep in mind when people on the other side of the counter are ordering flowers they could be going through something. I will never order from here again even though the arrangements are beautiful. read more

I live out of state and wanted a daisy bouquet delivered to my mom in hospice. My order was taken over the phone and I was very specific about what I needed it to look like- daisies and more daisies! I told her the price point I was willing to pay and they absolutely gave me what I wanted and above and beyond. Without giving too much personal info - the delivery was quicker than expected and really touched my heart. You all know what you did to help me honor my mom. Not a happy experience! They entered the wrong delivery date, a week later than what was on my order. I called and they delivered 2 days late. My niece sent me a photo of the order, it looked nothing like what I ordered. For $90 they could at least have made an effort to match a color besides yellow. I knew they didn't have tulips and agreed to a replacement of pink roses or carnations but the lack of the deep pink roses and light green little flowers left this bouquet as lifeless as the photo shows. Initially I called a different floral service and went through the push button circle jerk and hung up the phone. Then I called Dixon. My call was answered right away by a real human who was friendly, helpful and professional. I missed the deliveries for the day but they were able to make it happen. So impressed. read more

After the last three orders of delivered flowers arrived looking about 50% like the flower bouquets depicted in the Teleflora photos, I think it may be time to move to another vendor. I understand that accuracy of an exact match may not always be possible, but looking SOMEWHAT like the photos just doesn't cut it, especially when I opt, and pay more, for the Deluxe or Premium version of the bouquets. Vases are wrong, the bouquets are smaller (isn't that always the truth?), and even the ornate, "extras" are even different. I don't know exactly how the Teleflora thing works, but I would think that a certain stock level of "required parts" are acquired ahead of time and made available to make the bouquet look like the bouquet, right? If no stock available, then limit purchases or block purchases of said, sold-out bouquet. Ugh! Anyway, these guys can do better. I used to know Robert, the owner. Great and personable guy. I know he can do better. Actually, it was because him that I chose to have Dixon's supply my remote, flower-delivery needs. read more

I was so disappointed with the violet basket that I ordered for my sister. I live in Florida and was hoping that Dixon florist would do a much better job with the violet basket. It did not look at all like the Teleflora picture. It looks like something a child would put together. I called Dixon florist and he told me that they use the baskets they have and a ribbon was placed on it. In other words, that was all they could do because violets are now so expensive. So disappointed with this place. Ordered a bouquet for $70 from teleflora which was made by Dixon's and delivered to my sister. Honestly almost cried from embarrassment at what they delivered with my name attached. I'm posting a picture of what I received vs what I ordered. It's honestly just insulting and this place is taking advantage of people. I spent a lot of my paycheck on these flowers to try and bring light to someone's day. I could have gotten this for $15 at the grocery store. Never again will I purchase from this shop and will spread to word to others considering it. read more

Zero stars. My husband made the mistake of ordering from Dixon's again this year even though the last 3 years have been terrible service. Not only do the arrangements never look like the photos, but they delivered my "Valentines Day" flowers a day early (?) and when my husband called them to let them know about the mistake, they told him "Oh, our mistake! We can go pick them up". I had already received the flowers to my work place at this point. So they actually suggested that they were going to come into my work and take the flowers from me? How ridiculous is that!? After all of my co-workers saw that the flowers were delivered (obviously a day early), they were actually going to have someone come and take them back? Ha! Please do not use this florist if you live in the Munster/NWI area. I promise you will be disappointed. You will pay for filler flowers because "they do not have that exact arrangement". Don't advertise arrangements that you don't ever have. Read the reviews people. 90% of them for this florist are awful. read more

Went with my fiancé. Nobody else in the store, yet they were "too busy" to help. Usually it's customary to say congratulations when you have an engaged couple come in. Nobody else in the store and she probably didn't even acknowledge us for a good 10 minutes. Had questions about flowers she just pointed us towards some catalogs wasn't able to answer any of our questions. Hope it was just a friend looking over the store, not just an employee refusing service to an interracial couple. She did muster up energy to take down our number to have someone contact us within a few days. Wouldn't be surprised to find out they only have availability for white heterosexual weddings only. Two weeks later they called us to let us know they were booked on our wedding day. By that time we already went with Hohman Floral. read more

Awful experience and didn't even get to the flowers, went in 3 days before mother's day and asked the woman behind counter, if I could order a corsage for Mother's day. She barely picked her head up to look at me, and uttered, "nope, no way" I said, "excuse me". She then said, Can't do it. I was shocked at her lack of customer service, her ability to brush me off, to the point that I didn't even care to think about another option with her an potentially buy some flowers and make my own. Dixon's Florist has always been my 'go to' florist. From weddings, dances, funerals and just sending flowers or arrangements to say 'hi', they are it. Their dish gardens are beautiful and grow so well. Going into the store there is always something new and fun to look at and usually buy! I understand that when I send an arrangement farther away the recipient may not get exactly what I ordered from Dixon's, but that is understandable. Bob and Gayle are amazing at what they do and will walk you through the flower ordering process and help you with any plants that may need some extra attention. I received flowers from here and the arrangement was absolutely beautiful. When it was time to select a florist for a funeral I remembered the lovely arrangement and went to Dixon's. We visited the store during the COVID-19 pandemic and I felt immediately comfortable/safer when I saw the signage on the door requiring masks. Unfortunately upon entry I was greeted by an unmasked employee noting that she had forgotten her mask. The second employee emerges unmasked as well. This made me question the whole establishment but I stayed and continued planning the arrangement despite my discomfort. I'm so glad that I stayed. We selected a beautiful casket spray filled with white premium flowers as well as some arrangements in vases. The flowers were amazing. We received Full bloom white roses and hydrangeas along with other beautifully arranged premium flowers. The flowers were one of the best decision that we made for that special day. The in-store service was average at best but the product spoke for itself and was amazing. I plan to make this my new florist. read more

Dixon's Florist recently did the florals for my wedding at the Drake Hotel Chicago, and my guests and I were absolutely BLOWN AWAY by the work they did. I will try to be methodical about my review so I can highlight the exceptional work done by Gail, Bob and their team. Their work was the absolute highlight of the wedding. 1- The Planning Phase: I considered a number of florists in and around Chicago for my florals, and every single experience was negative. Each required an hour long phone consultation- during my working hours- during which they were condescending about my (sizable) floral budget and sent through the bare minimum for estimates, replacing the flowers I had requested with inexpensive bulk orders. From the second I spoke to Gail, she was an absolute joy. "Just stop in whenever you like, we'll get you exactly what you want"- and she did. I came armed with pinterest ideas which she made come to life on the spot, and I couldn't believe how reasonable their prices were considering the quality of the florals and their craftsmanship as a team. We signed with her on the spot and I never for a second regretted it. 2- The Day of: Gail and her team were dressed to the nines, and their happiness was radiating. It was such a joy to see them the day of, and the flowers absolutely EXPLODED in the ceremony, cocktail and ballrooms. I never in my wildest dreams thought I'd have such beautiful florals at my wedding- the bridesmaids bouquets were so fragrant, my bridal bouquet so exquisite, and the florals for the place card and centerpieces and flaking the stage were unbelievable. I felt like I had woken up in a Midsummer Night's Dream. Everything was flawless and perfectly executed. I cannot recommend Dixon's florist highly enough and I am so thrilled to have had the opportunity to work with such a talented team. I went in to Dixon Floral and PICKED OUT a floral arrangement from a PICTURE for a friends birthday. I got an arrangement TOTALLY DIFFERENT. Only thing correct was the color of the flowers. TOTALLY RUDE PEOPLE...especially the women. read more

Used them for the first and LAST time over the holidays. They are over priced, and my order was wrong. All i needed was a dozen white roses (Opened), no vase. The roses where all closed and the staff couldnt care less that I wasnt happy with the service. The gentleman who arranged the flowers was the most rude! I will never use them again. I have been a customer of Dixon's Florist since the day they first opened. I have used them for my grandchildren's baptisms and communions. My son's wedding and my relative's funerals. All of the arrangements have been breathtaking. I have received so many compliments on the flowers, it is a true testament of the fine work of Dixon's Florist. Dixons created our wedding bouquets and centerpieces. We received so many compliments on the outstanding work they did. The brides bouquet was overflowing with stunning orange and purple flowers for the fall wedding . The bridesmaids flowers matched perfectly. Gail and her team are wonderful to work with. I ordered centerpieces for a bridal shower with specific colors to match the bridesmaids dresses. When I picked up the centerpieces, there were all of the colors except the color of the bridesmaids dresses. They were beautiful but not what I wanted. I would advise anyone that needs to order flowers, to put the order in writing and state that you will not pay for them unless they are exactly what you ordered. read more
