We first came to this place in summer of 2024, had a tasting and loved the lemon drop and banana pudding . The worker helping us then was very friendly and helpful. We came back in Sept. 2025 on a Thursday to restock since we were in town and helped by another worker (didn't do a tasting this time) and he was also nice. I'm not really a drinker, but the name of the building caught my attention and I had to see what they have. They have 13 different types of moonshine for you to purchase and you can do the Murder Train Tasting to try them all for only a $1 dollar. Most of the moonshine were too sweet for my liking, but I did enjoy the pickle moonshine which they added some Bloody Mary mix into the drink which made it taste even better. Such A Fun Place!!! Great Staff! We've been multiple times and it never disappoints. It's such a neat experience trying all the different flavors of Moonshine and learning different ways to mix it in drinks. The staff have great ideas and are eager to share. Just ask! The Owner, Stephen, is dedicated to his craft and a humble man. He's fun to talk with. For us, Stephen makes the visit extra special. I believe we've purchased every favor at least once. My husband and I brought our kids to owa and took a little break as we always do coming in from Pensacola , today we decided to stop into murder creek as we usually do to get some samples for him , usually a few bottles to go for the house and I like to get chocolate and pecan moonshine over ice with half n half , ironically just as it's described on the menu. As soon as I went to order it the bartender cut me off and said it wasn't froze up enough and I said oh I always just get it poured over ice and he snapped and said we never do that as long as I've been here and I've been here for 17 years and I let him (Nick) know I definitely have had it plenty of times before from other people that actually offered it to me before . He was very rude and made my husband want to just leave but he had already poured his shots so I told him to go ahead and finish up . 1 star for service , 5 stars for the uniqueness of this place. We were intrigued just by the name of this place and couldn't wait to get inside to see what this place was all about. Moonshine! Lots of flavored moonshine! There's a large wrap around bar in the middle of this place- so, be sure to have your photo ID. We took a look at the menu and were excited to choose a flavor and give it a try. The 4 of us stood at the bar and noticed two of the 4 people working the bar serving people. The other two weren't waiting on people. Long story short after 5 minutes of standing at the bar we ended up putting our money back in our pockets and walking out. We weren't sure if the staff behind the bar were assigned to a certain side, if we needed to walk around and chase them down, wave our arms in the air, or what but we decided enough was enough and left. Told my daughter about our experience there and she said the different flavors were just sweet like added kool aid. I would've loved to find out for myself. Anyway, so happy to see new shops like this one open at OWA. This place has cool merchandise, I really wanted a t-shirt, and there is a wall of different flavored jars of moonshine. Before we walked in we could see all of the palettes and boxes and were very confused if they were open or not. We went ahead and tried to door and walked in and had to walk through all of it. We did the 5 for $5 samples and for the most part the moonshine was pretty decent, not the best but okay. But the server was incredibly condescending, i don't now if he was trying to come off as cool or what but it came off like he was an asshole. Not to mention he had a cigarette hanging out of his mouth almost the entire time while serving multiple people. (I have read some of the other reviews and have seen others mentioning him.)This was Labor Day weekend and the store was pretty busy and they only had one person on staff who was serving and when anyone wanted to buy the moonshine they had had to wave him down for him to then leave the bar and go to the cash register. In all I wouldn't recommend and probably won't be coming back. read more

Young guy working the bar was cussing at customers after they asked him why he needed to be so rude to them. He told them to get the F out if they thought he was so rude. He also used the R word in a derogatory way we left him and several other people left because of his attitude as well. The server on Sunday April 14th around 3pm to which I believe he said his name was Johnathan was so rude and condescending to me as well as my guests. We had so much fun tasting at Murder Creek! Everything was so good! We bought some to take home to our adult son! The staff are so friendly. The moonshine is God awful now. I came here when it first opened and it was great. The shine was smooth and the flavors were awesome. Now it tastes like rubbing alcohol with some flavor. I had a friend here from out of town(the smoky mountains). So I thought I'd take him to our little shine spot. He started calling it shits creek because it gave us both the shits. Not only did we pre-buy pick it, but we ended up waiting in line for over 20 minutes. While we were waiting for our tasting, we were told to "take a load off." Meanwhile they did not ask for anyone else in the entire establishment to "take a load off. "They were very rude and unprofessional. Moonshine 10 out of 10 employees 0 out of 10. Jody is the most unprofessional employee I have met, she talks down to people that are older than her. And does not deliver the same customer experience to every consumer that walks in the door. I'll be as kind in this review as this worker was to me. First, I liked the layout of the store, selection of merchandise. My review is focused on one of the workers. Incredibly rude immediatly, to say the least. This worker lives at least two hours away to work at an amusement park, and ridicules visitors from out of state by calling me sheltered based off my home state (not sure how traveling across the country makes me sheltered by a podunk townie who has never moved away from their tiny home town). Sidenote; I suggest he looks into what medicinal means as he attempted to correct me on it, wrongly. Also he completely ignored us in the middle of our sample round for a couple that came in that he might have known. If nothing else, how is treating a paying customer rudely apart of your business plan? The family I was visiting also won't be buying any more product, in case you were concerned. They were upset by this reflection of a Alabamian who works in a highly trafficked tourist stop. The staff was incredibly rude and condescending from the time we walked in the door until we walked out in the middle of a taste testing. I'm a local who had out of town family visiting and this is was down right embarrassing. I'm not asking you to kiss my a** as a customer (I worked in the service industry for at least a decade, I know what it's like) but being that way is not how you sell product and create return customers, especially a seasonal location. We were prepared to buy many bottles and talk this place up to our family and friends and possible make this a yearly thing. I'm not sure why businesses have moved away from believing this is how you grow and prosper. But it's too easy to take my business, as well as everyone we tell this story to, elsewhere. Best Bloody Mary ever!!! We were told we had to stop and try this Bloody Mary and it was so delicious we got another one to go and bought all the moonshine and mix to make at home! Ashley told us about each flavor of moonshine and what drinks you could make with them. The possibilities are endless. Jodi is AMAZING!!! I came in last week visiting from out of town and Jodi was so helpful and welcoming. She did a wonderful job of explaining and going into details about every type of moonshine they carried. She was very knowledgeable about the products and answered all our questions fully. She even gave us suggestions and samples of what to mix with them! We stayed in here for over an hour because we really enjoyed her that much! I planned to buy one moonshine but ended up buying 4 just so I can tip her more on top of the original tip. She was lovely. I would 10 times out of 10 come back just to talk to her. read more

Our 1st experience was Amazing. The gentleman doing the tasting took his time and explained everything to us. Our 2nd experience was also wonderful with the gentleman that did the tasting. Our 3rd experience with Jody was horrific!!! She is condescending and down right rude. Even her fellow coworkers we're angry at the way she was speaking to them & us. She was so rude that several of us started complaining to the owner while the tasting was going on. The owner said it was just a act but he would speak to her. I didn't have the impression that he cared about our complaints. For some reason she thought it was a good idea to do a tasting with 20 people at 1 time. She yelled and talked down to people the whole time. She only calmed down a bit after people started calling her out on her attitude in front of the owner.
