Service was really bad. One person making drinks, took about six orders in a row and then proceeded to make the drinks in no particular order and no communication on what drink belonged to which person. Pretty ridiculous. I actually regretted tipping the person in advance because it was definitely not deserbed. Drinks were just ok. read more

A nice selection of moonshine whiskey. I particularly like the lemon. They have a traditional moonshine from corn and another made from sugar cane. The sugar cane was sharp but the corn was smooth. There were several other fruit flavored infused options. read more

Just left this place. Went in to make simple bottle purchase. Plenty of supply but system wouldn't accept a sale. After waiting for about 15 minutes and 2 phone calls to manager I was told they couldn't sell it to me. I asked if he couldn't use a calculator and write it down to enter later and was told no. Great customer service at this Distillery. We went in just to browse around, but we'd also sampled 1 shot of moonshine which was $5 dollars. I went with the apple moonshine while my mom and boyfriend had just the regular one which is straight alcohol lol. I ended up just sipping mines which was good, but nothing I needed to purchase. On the other hand, my boyfriend finished his shot and ended up purchasing a bottle and my mom was still on hers which the employee added the rest of the moonshine into a slushy to make it more tolerable to drink. He was really awesome and engaging with us and it was nice of him to not charge her for that slushy. read more

My husband and I love going to distilleries, so we had to stop here. Unfortunately I couldn't drink at the time, but my husband was able to sample a number of the different liquors. He really enjoyed all of them and even got some larger samples to place in his coffee. The ambiance is wonderful and the owner stays open late so when the concerts let out there is a place to hang out and enjoy a little after party. read more

Overall a good experience. The ambiance was nice and the service was great. The reason for the 3 stars is the mixed drinks were weak and the flavor were similar to a seltzers. For the price we expected a little more overall flavor. As for the liquor itself, don't have a review since we didn't do any tastings. read more

This local moonshine haven sells good old craft distilled spirits that are made in the Appalachian Mountains. Born from a deep heritage of distilling spirits in eastern Kentucky, Kentucky Mist takes pride in distilling their vsrious products, and making flavored moonshine that incorporates whole fruis for the a real clean and natural taste. It's a testament to their process which uses no chemicals and no preservatives. I'm partial to the blackberry but the the apple flavor is the best apple pie shine I've ever had. Theses guys know smooth,and I've tried every one of their flavors, and each one if their moonshines have a sweet, almost delicate, finish with just the right amount of burn so yo know it's moonshine :-) The 80 proof infused flavors are my absolute favorites and I was surprised that the infused vodkas are good as well, and I'm not a vodka fan. They've been in business since 2015 with two locations in Myrtle Beach, SC and here at the Wharf in Orange Beach, AL, but their roots go way back. They trace Kentucky Mist's roots back to Little Henry Holbrook and the days of American Prohibition, distilling corn liquor and bootlegging in the Appalachian Mountains. Henry was caught bootlegging his corn liquor to folks in the mountains of eastern KY, and the federal government put him away for a long stretch in an Atlanta federal penitentiary in 1930. Interesting history, while Henry was there, he formed a good friendship with fellow bootlegger, Al Capone. Fast forward to nearly 70 years after Henry's release his grandson Colin Fultz decided he was going to turn the Holbrook family tradition into a legal business and Kentucky must was born. You can purchase small or full shots of the different shines before you commit to larger bottles and that makes it a bit of an alcohol adventure. Bottom line: The staff are all friendly and fun, the place is very welcoming and the libations are all very good. Whether you're into the shine, or not, I can recommend giving this place a try. read more

If you've ever been to Gatlinburg, TN and done the moonshine tours this is a similar deal except they charge $1 per sample shot. If you like doing tastings like this there is another moonshine tasting spot at OWA that is exactly like the Gatlinburg ones where you pay one price to taste several varieties. Kentucky Mist Distillery has three locations with two in Myrtle Beach, SC and this one in Orange Beach, AL at The Wharf. During my visit they only had one guy running the place and they only have a few items to taste so they probably couldn't handle a big crowd of folks. The majority of the space is taken up by merchandise and they certainly do have a lot of items for sale in addition to their booze. Overall this is a fun spot to stop off in if you are doing a bit of day drinking out at The Wharf and you want to make a pub crawl out of it then this is certainly a decent spot to stop in and enjoy for a bit. After getting stiffed on happy hour at Villagio we stopped in here to sample some moonshine. I got corn and regular and we also ordered peach and blackberry. All were good and we had some good conversation with the guys on the bar. A bottle of shine is $34 but we didn't buy any this trip. Next time in will try one of their specialty cocktails made with shine or infused vodka. read more

We visited the wharf in Orange beach, al heading home to Florida when we found Kentucky Mist distillary. Very nice inside. The drinks I tried were worth the stop. Recommend stopping and trying one before walking out. The Summit, Wildcat, and cranberry mule all great. So I can only assume the rest of the mixed drinks are as well. read more
