I am so sad like literally sad. My parents went up to the vineyard for the weekend to check out our houses and brought me back what was supposed to be a lovely present a reminder of my misspent youth but instead of the beautiful light pink spotted with Cape cod cranberry fudge of normal size that I was expecting I got a hot pink tiny sugary blob of disgustingness. The fudge was always the length and width of the box and the depth was about half the box so that they could fit two pieces of fudge in their perfectly now it's maybe a third of what it was. Not only that my mother bought me Cape cod cranberry but there are no fucking cranberries. Cape cod cranberry was a beautiful light pink spotted with delicious Cape cod cranberries now it is a hot pink nightmare of sugary garbage. It's so sad that murdick's fudge has become garbage like many other things on the vineyard. Welcome to the fucking Hamptons... Alright idk where these good reviews are coming from. We stopped in here because the line for Mad Martha's was out the door. Walked over to Murdick's and saw that it was completely empty- should've taken that as a hint. We got two ice creams- the Moose tracks and peppermint. I swear that's the exact same moose tracks that they have at Aldi. It legit tastes exactly the same down to the quality of the PB cups. AND it was horribly freezer burn. Almost to the point of it being inedible. I ate what ice cream was on the top of the cup and was just scraping at ice chunks after that. Peppermint was also freezer burn but not as bad. Tried the cashew peanut brittle and an assortment of fudge. Peanut brittle was similar to hard toffee. The taste has good, but it's consistency would be good for pulling out your molars. The fudge had a disappointing consistency, it was a bit more dry and chalky then the creamy fudge I was expecting. Fudge that will make you drool I have been told many times that Murdick has the best fudge in the world. I haven't yet eaten every single piece of fudge in the world so I can't be sure it's the absolute best on the entire planet, but I do know that Murdick's fudge is good. Very, very good. The fudge comes in parrelliligrams about four inches by two inches and one each thick. Each one seems to weight about ten pounds and I estimate each square contains appropriately 8*10^6 calories. I shared my square with three other friends so that still gave me 2*10^6 calories from the fudge. Certainly enough to feed entire small countries. Over looking the phenomenal propensity of the fudge for making you fat, it is absolutely fantastic. Delicious. rich and creamy with intoxicating flavor. It is hard to imagine any fudge better. Murdick's has lots of different flavors and the biggest problem is trying to decide which one you want to make your butt bigger. The sin of gluttony is rampant in this place and if this particular location isn't enough Murdick also has stores in Oak Bluffs and Edgartown. As much as you try, Murdick will get you. If they don't, Mad Martha's ice cream , right down the street will. This is a very dangerous place to pass through if you are on a diet. As if the fudge wasn't seductive enough, a case of fresh Kettle Korn is sitting right in your field of view as you walk in. The smell is enticing and demands your attention. Oh yeah, if you glance to the left you'll notice all the ice cream flavors. No matter which way you look something is going to look very very tasty. The best fudge in the world? I stopped in here while visiting Martha's Vineyard for the day to grab some ice cream. They had a lot of flavors (as well as a big assortment of fudge) and it was so hard to choose! We ended up getting the muddy boots, vanilla ice cream with brownie and caramel, in a cup. It came to $5 which I found pretty expensive, but I know we're in a tourist location as well as an island so it was understandable. The person inside was friendly and the store was clean. I walked down the streets in one of the towns of the island of Martha's Vineyard, and decided to get some good dessert. They offer a great variety of fudge, which is their specialty, and a small piece is a great choice if you want an amazing dessert or an afternoon snack with cold milk. I had the Chocolate Peanut Butter and the Penuche. The Penuche is made from brown sugar, butter, and milk. I really liked the creaminess of the Penuche, but I liked the buttery stickiness of the Chocolate Peanut Butter even more. They also have some great ice cream. Most of it is Haagen-Dazs branded ice cream, but it's great ice cream. I had Dulche de Leche, which is an amazingly good caramel flavored ice cream. I also had the Brownies a la mode, which is pretty much brownies mixed with a vanilla ice cream. The softness and the flavor of the brownies went really well with the cold and creamy flavor of the vanilla ice cream. Overall, this is a good place to get something sweet here, particularly some decently good fudge or some great tasting ice cream. They serve Gifford's Ice Cream which is very good. I had both chocolate lovers and mint chocolate chip and enjoyed them both. Pricing is fine, service is fine. It's hard to be special when you serve someone else's product but if you like Gifford's (I do) then this is a good stop for ice cream. Stopped in and bought some unbelievably delicious fudge yesterday. However the owners should be ashamed of themselves for leaving their workers on a 100 degree day in a little box of a shop with no AC and virtually non air flow. I thought they were going to melt on the spot. Tourists kept stepping into the shop and walking back out immediately. I wouldn't have left my dog in that store. I wanted to bring a gift home for the family and well food is always a good choice. I choose three flavors of fudge; chocolate peanut butter, butter pecan, and peanut butter. Of those the chocolate peanut butter was by far the best. The texture is excellent. I am not the biggest fudge fan so I also bought the cashew brittle. I wish I had bought ten pounds of it. It is the perfect combination of salty and sweet. I highly recommend giving this place a try. read more

Okay, here's the thing- in VH the Murdick's shop also sells ice cream. Let me just tell you that this little gem outshines the rest-Bernie's and Mad Martha's- by far. Sadly, the ice cream isn't homemade, but Gifford's (Maine) I don't care- it's delicious!! Mississippi Mud Pie, Salted Caramel Truffle- and OMG the Girlscout S'more.....you taste the graham cracker, the chocolate pieces are huge and the marshmallow is noticeable whipped through. Priced the same as the other shops. The service was excellent, the young lady on Sunday night was quite personable-smiling, talkative and sweet. read more

I always make it a point to stop in at Murdick's when visiting, and I'm never disappointed. The fudge is crazy-delicious! So far, I've had the Butter Pecan, Chocolate, and Chocolate Rocky Road. You may put on a few pounds, but it just may be worth it. The fudge is very flavorful, kind of a full, silky texture and the Butter Pecan is just that - nice "buttery" taste with lots of pecans!
