Update: We ended up purchasing a beautiful safe for over $5k from a local safe dealer--worth every penny, and their customer service was top-notch! We also bought a stunning Green Mountain grill, though from another store. The three items I mentioned in my initial review that we wanted to buy, we would have gladly purchased at Murdoch's if things had gone differently. Since that post, we've returned to Murdoch's twice more, but unfortunately, not much has changed. We've bought five additional guns--but not here, again due to our customer service experiences. When we stopped in during the winter to look at snow blowers, the salesperson couldn't answer our questions confidently. I wish I could give Murdoch's a better rating, but it's just not the kind of experience that makes me want to spend my hard-earned money. Customer service and profiling issues need improvement. This store could have made several sales but missed the mark. read more

Since we were in the area we thought of checking out the sales at Murdoch's. Each time I go in they change the layout. Some times the sales racks are in the back and sometimes in the front of the store. I've been wanting to purchase one of those tactical flashlights and saw them last time. They have a variety of flashlights and camp gear. What peaked my interest was this compass/ whistle because well you never know. I'm not Lewis and Clark so... There were variety of long sleeve and short sleeve clothes, pajamas and boots. I saw some previous pictures of Ariat boots I got my eyes on. If we could give them no stars we would. One of the worst customer service we have ever seen. Nasty and unhappy people that work there. We wanted to buy a generator from them online, and they refused to allow us to ship it from their store. We would pay Fedex and arrange for pickup. They refused saying it was their 'policy' not to ship these type of items. No reason why, just it's their policy and was rude as can be about it. So we purchased a Harbor Freight Predator generator instead and they shipped it to us for free. Just one or two bad people at a store can make a customer never return for a lifetime ! read more

Came by to check out their stock of cargo pants with reinforced knees. They were having their sale so it was a good time to visit. I browsed while he was looking for the pants he wanted. Saw the cutest home decor and some on sale too! Unfortunately they didn't have the pants he wanted. No tan color. We drove to the other location to check their selection. My review is based solely on the pet (dog) merchandise. A few months ago I went in only to discover they have a ton of dog food, toys and treats! They carry the brand of dog food we give our dogs plus treats. I like the bulk treats you can buy too. I bring my dogs inside every time I go and they get a treat from the staff every time. Cashier staff are friendly to me and my dogs. I prefer M over Petsmart. read more

I purchased a Honda Generator a few years ago years ago and I made the mistake of leaving the stale gas in for a few years, it would not start so I took it back to the Parker Murdochs and they got it running great at a reasonable cost. I ordered 2 pullover sweaters from noble outfitters and it's been 15 days. They use fed ex and now fed ex service has been so bad that they will not let you talk to a customer service live agent. Murdochs knows how bad fed ex is and still continues to use them. I would have paid more for shipping if I was given an option. I have had to have someone waiting for this package for 3 days now and still no package. Murdochs customer service doesn't care.. they just basically say that it's all fed ex. Once they shipped it that none of this on them. So basically they don't care about me as a customer. It has cost me so much time and money and they offer nothing but to say they shipped it... well fed ex has to have had very bad service and to go thru the lengths they have to avoid talking to upset customers and who cares because companies like Murdochs still use them. And Murdochs just say thank you and have a good day and hang up on you.. that's what brought me here to yelp.. they just said that to me.. thank you. Have a good day and hung up. I heard commercials and always wanted to stop in. I was looking for some particular garden boxes so thought I would have a look around and see if they existed here. I was a bit taken back by how big the place actually was once I stepped inside. It's big, bright and really well organized. I was easily able to locate things and there was plenty of room to maneuver the extra large cart through the isle. Unfortunately I was not able to find what I was specifically looking for, not sure if it even exists. Well, it's not really my kind of store. I don't have a big need for cowboy clothes, ranching supplies, etc (yes, there are some yard supplies, etc. that a backyard gardener might find useful). However, the store was nice and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. And, the pricing seemed good. Based on these three things, I would definitely put them ahead of a "Big R". They have a large selection of premium dog foods and the prices seemed better than you would find at Petsmart/Petco. read more

I came into this store yesterday with my family and we had browsed the racks and found a sweater with a great clearance sticker so we wanted to purchase it. When we got to the counter, it scanned in incorrectly to us because the Mark down should've been greater. So the cashier asked another woman for help, and as she helped she yelled that she couldn't honor the discount because "someone" had put that one on top of it, insinuating that we had changed the stickers. It was extremely embarrassing that She would yell it so loud in such an accusatory manner, instead of just saying it was a mistake. super rude. I love going to this store too, and that was so unacceptable. read more

If you are purchasing a gun from Murdoch's -- watch out! I just bought what I thought was a Savage rifle from them. It was displayed as a Savage, and the person behind the counter was talking about it as a Savage. When I got home and looked close, I saw it is a Hatsan! I searched for this brand, and found it does not get good reviews -- and had Murdoch's not represented this rifle as a Savage I would never have purchased it! They have a "no return" policy on gun purchases. So even though I got this thing about an hour ago, I can't take it back...even though they misrepresented what I was getting. Fair warning -- be sure you look really closely when you are at the store, and DON'T TRUST a thing the folks behind the counter say! read more

We purchased a chainsaw from Murdoch's. When we picked it up, we found that it was out of the box and already had oil/gas in it. When we asked about it, we were told ALL equipment is tested before sale. We used it three times for only a few minutes only because it wasn't starting nor running properly and was leaking fuel. We called two Murdoch's in the area to ask about replacing it and had no assurance whatsoever. We brought it back to this Parker location. Blake was helping us and was cold and acted put out by having to deal with it. We were told that in order to replace it, they would need to send it to a repair person first. I thought they took everything out of the box before sale to ensure the item functions. Ridiculous. We told them we would rather simply return it and we were told they would not accept a return without also having it go to a repair person. We asked to speak with the supervisor (with no suggestion from Blake that this might be a helpful course of action) , Caitlyn, who was equally unhelpful. She refused to replace it at all and said that she would not accept the return without charging us for a new chain and bar. I'm sure they will resell this chainsaw to someone else who, unfortunately, will be stuck with a non functioning chainsaw and no hope for a return or replacement. Rather than making this right and working this out with the manufacturer, Caitlyn and Blake made it our problem and refused to make any effort to stand by their product. Bottom line: we were sold a used, malfunctioning chainsaw, and we're stuck with the unpleasant task of trying to make it right. After having this discussion at the front of the store, which was embarrassing and unnecessary, Caitlyn finally agreed to provide a full return, but only after telling us she would not sell us anything else, effectively telling us she no longer wants ANY of our business. If that was always an option, why not start there and actually take care of your customer. Directly from Murdoch's website: "Murdochs.com stands behind all of its products. If I could give negative stars I would. My boyfriend and I are in the market for 2 new guns. We spent the last few days checking out different stores, holding different styles and brands to make sure we love what we buy. We are both currently gun owners and have been shooting most of our lives. After going to into our last stop for the day I was disappointed and shocked by the two men behind the counter who not only didn't bother to offer us any help even when I asked how much a gun was. They were too busy speaking to each other to bother with us. The gun case was a disaster. You couldn't find anything One gentleman was 40's with a fu Manchu and the other was a mid twenties kid. I usually go there for dog supplies and then I wander over to the gun area. I was the only customer in the area with 3 people standing behind the counter not doing a damn thing but leaning their asses against the counter and they quickly left the area when I was about to ask a question. This happens nearly every time I have gone in there. Absolutely the worst customer service I've ever seen. I guess it's hard to get good help these days but I have not been treated this way at Cabelas or Sportsman's Warehouse. I will never buy another gun or ammo from this place. read more

This is a big store with a wide selection of items and attractively arranged displays. The general look and feel of the interior is, in my opinion, more appealing than most other chains; and that makes a difference, however small. I also prefer the staff here. They are super friendly and helpful! We came in looking to price a reel mower. Not only did someone ask us what we were looking for, he stopped what he was doing (stocking shelves), walked us over to the product, and talked with us for nearly ten minutes! He explained the products Murdoch's had, why they were priced in a particular way, the different brands, and even other stores where we might find more selection at lower price points. We left without a reel mower (this time, since we were just looking), but we benefited from this clerk's knowledge and willingness to help. We did find some really nice stainless steel water bowls for our cats -- only $7 each, and they are large bowls. Much less expensive even than Walmart. read more

Murdoch's has a huge selection of things for your Dog... I don't have any ranch supply needs but they seem to have plenty of that too and the back is full of western wear likes cowboy hats, boots, and western shirts. If you are looking for a western themed gift you can find those in the front. This is a perfect anchor store to have in Parker. The only downside is that the lines can be long and slow on busy days. read more

What a difference a day makes in your opinion or a place. I wrote a very bad review of this store last night and this morning thought wait let me give them a chance. The 10 percent off a new saw that I used once didn't make me very happy at all being a life long customer, however I decided to give them a chance. I received an email from Stephan this morning saying why don't you bring it in a saw this new should not have these issues. So I returned his call and decided what do I have to loose right? He went above and beyond to fix my saw and then proceeded to tell me every detail about it. I am so HAPPY my faith in Murdoch's is restored as I often buy from them even if the price is somewhat higher just for the customer service aspect. The employees name was Jordan, and he was extremely short with me and quite rude. Instead of pointing me in the proper direction, he told me ""I work in the back, I don't know where any of that shit is" so I proceeded to ask another employee that might be of more assistance but to make a long story short. I love Murdoch's and I don't even know why. Before they had even opened I wandered in on a whim and was stopped at the door and told to come back next week! I find myself here mostly for the clothing, they have a lot of Carhartt stuff. To date I have bought various gloves, hats, scarves, work boots and boot polish. They have pet food and some supplies but not a huge selection. They also have power tools. Well for me, that's pretty much the highlights. This place belongs in Parker. read more

Had several bad experiences with chain saw help and service at this store. Mainly with what looked like a bunch of 16 year olds who had no idea what they were doing but acted like they did. Train your people or don't have them helping in areas they don't understand at all. Was sold wrong parts, had to return and had two bad repair experiences. Its a long drive for me to go there.
