I recently purchased a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe from this dealership and drove it less than 100 miles before the engine completely locked up. I understand the risks of buying a used vehicle, but a catastrophic failure this quickly is unacceptable and indicates serious issues that should have been caught before the sale. The warranty I purchased did not cover the failure, and the sales manager told me my only option was to buy another vehicle and take a loss on the Santa Fe. That was the only way to recover any of the money I had already spent. I also test‑drove a Kia Sorento on their lot that had obvious front‑end problems. This raises major concerns about the quality of the vehicles they are putting up for sale. It genuinely feels like they are placing unsafe or defective cars on the lot and leaving customers to deal with the consequences. Purchased a new Pathfinder and come to find that the dealer had installed a tracking device inline with the OBD II port. They did not disclose this or show the cost anywhere on the sales order. The only indication was a random text that was supposedly from LoJack. They have turned their operator into a useless AI answering service as well. This Dealership has become very shady and will lie and cheat their way into selling you something. This all began just after the purchase from a private owner in 2018 by Matt Bowers Auto Group. Buyer beware - our experience with this incompetent dealership has been less than satisfactory. We have only had our vehicle 7 months and have received nothing but a runaround since the day after the purchase. Starting with the salesman, who by the way is no longer there and left shortly after our purchase, to the service department {specifically Adrian) to senior management. The sales team and management will make you feel welcome and appreciated during the purchase, until after the purchase when they could really give a shit about you. The finance department was less than professional and didn't seem to know what he was doing, which explains why the service plan was not associated with our vehicle. My wife went in today for an oil change, which is covered by the maintenance plan we purchased only to discover that the finance department never attached the plan to our vehicle for some BS reason - just another delay as they sort it out and get the plan attached to our vehicle - pure incompetence. My wife went in for an oil change and has been sitting at that dealership for over 3 hours and is still waiting - 2 cars came in after her for an oil change and have already received their service and are gone. My daughter purchased a vehicle from the Nissan of Murfreesboro. In less than 2 weeks she drove it about 500 miles when the vehicles checked engine light displayed and had white smoke coming from the tailpipe as well as a shutter in the engine. It is unsafe to drive. I called and spoke with the sales manager Ken seeking assistance. This was after reaching out to the salesman Caleb who never returned my call like he said in "15 minutes" Ken said he would follow up with me. He never did. I tried calling on 4 different occasions. Each time I ask for Ken, I would wait on hold greater than 45 minutes each time I would hang up and try to call back. I did a search for staff at Nissan of Murfreesboro and found another used car manager Thomas who transferred me to Ken and magically answered the phone since it was an internal transfer. Ken advised me that the dealership really could not help. And recommended to me bring the vehicle to the service department so they could look at it. Unfortunately, the vehicle is undrivable and would be towed- the estimates I received were $200 to $400 dollars and when I asked Ken if he could help once the vehicle was towed there and diagnosed- he said no all they could do was look at it. My daughter is on a fixed income and works for less than a livable wage and has 3 young children. She saved for months to have a down payment to purchase a dependable vehicle and chose Nissan of Murfreesboro in good faith. The fact that the vehicle is no longer operating is not an issue, but the fact there is no willingness to listen, or help on an issue that impacts a young family's livelihood is a terrible way to conduct business. I had the vehicle towed to a local mechanic in our area. They quickly diagnosed the issue as a bad engine. The #2 cylinder and the #4 cylinder had no compression and the most cost-effective means to repair would be to replace the engine with a used engine for about $7500, or a new remanufactured engine for 11K. The mechanics' opinion is the engine had issues before the purchase of the vehicle. I humbly ask for any assistance from both the general manager and the partner who have never responded to by email. I recognize that used vehicles are purchased "as is", but "as is" from a reputable dealership like Nissan of Murfreesboro should leave the lot in a condition that will at least allow the owner the opportunity to drive the investment in a safe workable manner. That is not the case with this vehicle. She purchased it a little over two weeks ago and as I stated but about 500 miles on the vehicle. Do you know when you walk into your house and your clever dog has taken a crap somewhere, but somehow was able to hide that dogpile in some dark corner... you cannot SEE or FIND it... however you KNOW that the crap exists because the SMELL is making your knees buckle? This synopsizes my experience with Murfreesboro Nissan... I drove my 2012 Nissan Juke to Murfreesboro Nissan dealership on morning of 8/23/2025, My own FIXD device in the OBD port indicated the ignition system needed a reprogramming, later that day I received a video text message from the technician stating explicitly that NO starter or ignition system was malfunctioning and that a reprogramming should fix the issue - same as what my FIXD device indicated. So, I verbally authorized the 400-dollar reprogramming. Three days later, I arrive at the dealership shop only for the representative to tell me that the starter was no good and needed replacement, with a sneaky grin. And now, the total cost was going to be 1200 dollars. Angry as hell, but with civility I tried contacting the manager, only for him to basically play "phone tag" with me. I paid the repair bill but specifically requested to keep the "core unit" (my original starter) so that I could have it examined by MY OWN Independant mechanic, but I was denied the core unit. So, in short, (1) my own diagnostic device indicated only a reprogramming was necessary, (2) the technician-mechanic concurred, (3) magically a whole new problem emerged, (4) the price ballooned, and (5) when I requested to keep the item necessary to verify this new expense - I was denied. This FEELS like a "bait and switch" with a stench every bit as strong as that dog stinking up the house with that hidden pile of crap. It's talked about in the community as not having good service encounters which has been my experience, especially these last few years. Today, tire rotation with an appointment took 2 hours. I came in Tuesday night cash in hand to buy a vehicle advertised on your website. Took it for a test drive, was satisfied with it, then went in with the salesperson to try to come to an agreement. I had to go home and tell my daughter, who just had her deceased mother's car that she was willed totaled in an accident, and was excited about getting the car that we must continue to look elsewhere. The person who sold me the car, I do not take issue with. The person who wrote up the documents and paperwork is a lying manipulative shyster. I was very clear about what was important to me about the title . He verbalized understanding , and gave the impression that it would be completed accordingly. Imagine my surprise when I got my title and discovered he put me and another person it!!!! At first , I thought he made an honest mistake and called him to correct it. It was then that I discovered that he knowingly did this. He even admitted to me that he understood our conversation, but that he "couldn't write it up that way" . I am well aware of what the state law says, and he was incorrect. He then tried to tell me that it is a Nissan policy that it be written the way he did, however when I spoke with Nissan they informed me that it is not a black-and-white policy. I told him that I had already talked to Nissan... But he remained indignant on keeping the paperwork, and title exactly as he had decided he wanted to do it. I despise him and I despise that dealership ...and I will never recommend anybody to go there. Greatly improved after I spoke at length to the Service Manager, Mr. Byars, about my experience in May 2021. It truly means so much when you can see the difference from sharing your thoughts and expectations. I hope they continue on a positive path. Here was the difference I noticed: 1. Greeted by associates as soon as I entered the bay. 2. An associate came right to the vehicle as I was still trying to figure out the check-in online. 3. Desired services were verified from what I entered online. 4. I was asked about when I would need to have my vehicle returned before leaving. 5. The entire check-in was about 5-7 minutes. Truly valued my time. 6. Vehicle was ready before expected time. 7. Any future services recommended were explained and no pressure trying to get services completed too early. 8. When I returned to get my vehicle it was also a time-efficient process and I was finished in about 5-7 minutes again. When I spoke with Mr. Byars he offered to comp the service if I would give them a second chance. However, I explained that my only expectation was to see a difference. I really didn't want to write this review but this my second time dealing with Murfreesboro Nissan In 2020 I purchased a 2014 Toyota Tundra love the truck no issues but on December 26 2023 I took my Nissan Sentra in for transmission fluid replacement my wife and was walking their lot just looking at their inventory when we was approached by one of the sales person he was a real nice man he asked if he could show us any car on the lot while we was waiting on our car in the service department. We decided to just look at a couple of cars while waiting on our car we decided to test drive a certified pre-owned 2018 Nissan Maxima with 42000 miles on it while driving the car I noticed that the low tire pressure light was on in this car I drove the car back to their lot. We decided to look at other cars we didn't like any of them the salesperson said that let's see what he could do on the certified pre-owned 2018 Maxima 42000 miles we decided to purchased it we was told that if we bought it. It would come with 3 year free oil change service. I get back to finance department we was signing the paperwork I noticed that we-owe paper wasn't in purchase paperwork I asked the finance guy about the we-owe paper he said that I had talk to my salesman about that we before we went in the finance department the salesman had took the we-owe paper into his manager to approved in came out of the office and put paper into the finance paperwork so I just assumed that it was approved he didn't tell me that it wasn't approved because he knew I would have walked away from the deal. We got the car at a fare price so I let that go later that week I took the car to my local Discount Tire store and found out on this certified pre-owed 2018 Nissan Maxima that the front driver side tire had a broken tire bead seal this mean that the tire will not hold air. I contacted the sales person crickets he never responded to me about the tire so I just purchased another tire myself for this certified pre-owned 2018 Nissan Maxima the next thing that happened to the car I was driving to work early morning the next week and I heard a loud popping sound from outside the car I pulled over and it was the outside A-pillar window trim piece had came off some how. I text the salesman about this he didn't respond a few days went bye I texted him back to see if he forgot about me he said that he had forget about it two days after that we called me so that could talk with someone in the parts department I was told that it would cost me $240 to replace that A-Pillar trim piece that's crazy I just purchased this car and no help with a certified pre-owned car. I'm very disappointed with this dealership I want every deal with this dealership again to me all the they care about is making the sale zero help after the sale. read more

I made plans to get an oil change and tire rotation at Murfreesboro Nissan's service dept on 2/22/25. I typically go to a different Nissan service dept but since I was in town for the day this was an easier choice. I called a few days prior to determine if the service dept would honor the free tire rotation since I had purchased the tires at another Nissan service dept. I was told they would. I got there early Sat ready to wait for the service to be done. I told the service person, as I had been instructed on the earlier call, that I had a free tire rotation. Before I could get my computer out in the lobby I was told they can't honor that. I asked to speak to a manager. The manager wanted to know who I had spoken to, which I didn't recall. I was treated as if I was lying. I proceeded to tell him that he had lost a sale then (for the oil change), ultimately a customer. A tire rotation is likely the lowest priced item on their menu. It certainly makes sense to argue with a customer, lose a sale and lose future business. SMH read more

Came here to get my car serviced back in September/October after purchasing a Nissan Altima from a third party shop. Save your money and go somewhere else! Their service department lacks knowledge and transparency. I brought my car in several weeks to get work done and their report kept coming back to have the same work done. When I asked if it ever got fixed they said that yes, but the technician was just going by the miles, which is just lazy work. So if I didn't pay attention I would've paid twice for the same maintenance work. The representatives reply was to email their managers; TBYARS@BORONISSAN.COM, DKELLY@BORONISSAN, TVERBA@BORONISSAN ... I never herd from any of them. Not sure who the technician was but all you can do is talk to the rep which honestly also doesn't know about cars. Oh and in addition to that they wanted to charge me $60 for a cap that I ended up getting at autozone for $3. When I brought in my other car and at this point was mostly to use their bogus points I had earned, the rep. said that if I get the $240 used-car-inspection I can use that credit towards the fix. Then when it was all said and done he apologized for the misunderstanding and said that wasn't the case, when I complained he offered to at least do the $100 diagnostic which I can use towards fixing the car, and when it was all said and done, it still didn't apply to any of the work done. I think by now you get my frustration. To top it off the work by a technician I guess named Nate P. said I needed a new driver belt which is weird cause I literally got one the week prior and when I checked back with the place they insisted the belt was fine. This technician also said i needed an oil change but that also got done a week prior. I mean I could go on and on but you get the point. I went there recently for a recall and an oil change and they tried to get me to replace the cabin air filter for $60. I declined at the time, but then they sent me the Car Fax that showed the Cabin Air Filter had been changed 6 months (4000Mi) prior, right before I bought the car. As I was doing paperwork I noticed my sales rep and his manager had doubled my income and submitted that to the finance lender. I told them I didn't make that much in a year And the finance manager said it's okay don't worry about it. I was worried about it. I got a call from the finance lender and they asked for proof of income and I told them the correct amount I made every month. Turns out this dealership lied to the finance lender about my income and I didn't get approved through that lender. So I go back the next day to get approved through a different lender and turns out they lied again to another finance lender just to approve the se again and ran my credit like 14 times in 2 days. After I agreed some numbers and got the finance part figured out about the vehicle they told me the Saturday I bought the truck that they would detail it for on the next Friday. Well Thursday comes and I get a call back from the sales person saying they can't schedule me in until after Christmas and that all the detail guys went home already. I bought the truck over a week before Christmas and they are putting me off again? Please just go to a different dealer and find you a dealer who won't to lie to you as bad or mistreat you or put you off. You're a customer not a number!! read more
