I have no idea what kind of medication or needle they used to numb my jaw, but it was better than when I had my wisdom teeth removed. He is kind, has excellent bedside manner, was gentle when working on my mouth, discussed the procedure with me with options and modified my pre-op medications to my needs, gave me thorough post-op instructions, and saw me post-op without hesitation. He even took time to discuss my son's concerns for wisdom teeth removal while he was there at my post-op visit. And the office personnel were equally wonderful, kind and informative. The procedure was explained and I was given the exact amount the insurance would cover and what my obligation would be, which I was delighted to find was very reasonable. I would highly recommend Dr. Miller and Pure Oral Surgery in Richardson, and would not hesitate to return should the need arise.

My appointment was scheduled at 4:00pm, I didn't see Dr. Coke until 5:00pm. When I finally met the physician, she apologized, prescribed me medication for bacteria only and said her office will follow up with me through email and said she would wave my consultation fee since my appointment time was pushed back to closing time. I was rushed out by Ashley and was told to follow up through email since it was closing time. No surgery date. No plan of care. Just out the door around 5:30pm. Waiting wasn't a problem, the lack of communication for surgery date and consultation fee was an issue and it gets worst. 2.) I call the office back for a doctor's note. They had a hard time comprehending why I needed a doctor's note for my employer but I had patience and told them it was requested for me to take paid sick time. So, they send me another patients plan of estimate with their first name, last name, address, and how much their surgery is going to cost. They have sent me another patients information instead of sending me a simple doctors note. I called them back to let them know. They tell me to destroy it. They will send me the doctors note. It gets worse. 3.)I call the office today to pick up medicine prior to surgery. She says: " you pick up medication after surgery not before" so I arrive for my surgery, Im strapped up with tele monitors, oxygen in nose, blood pressure machine hooked and all of a sudden the doctor comes in: We can't do your surgery because of your blood pressure. The medication we prescribed would have helped. ... This is the same exact I office I called hours before to ask about medication. And Ashley told me I had none to pick up.... I spent $100 worth of groceries for wisdom teeth healing, took off a full day of work, my 76 year old Aunt drove an hour from her home to the doctors office to be my driver. All for the doctor to cancel because of her office's incompetence? Save your money. Save your time. Save yourself.

I got a bad feeling from the moment I walked in. The receptionists were not friendly, the place smelled funny, and from the look of other clientele, it was apparent that this was a very low-price-low-quality establishment. But my tooth was hurting so badly, I chanced it and went forward with the procedure. After a 45 minute wait, here is what happened: First, they took me to the consultation room, where Dr. Hill confirmed with me what medicines I was on, and tapped on the tooth to make sure it was the right one. I began to ask several questions about the procedure, and was told "my assistant will handle that after the procedure." Then, before answering any questions, they demanded that I pay beforehand. Another red flag. They also charged me a $55 "consultation fee" which they neglected to mention when I called about pricing. Apparently, the doctor checking which tooth he is going to pull counts as a "consultation." Also, important to point out that I heard the doctor and a receptionist discussing what tooth they were going to pull on another patient. She had written "13" instead of "20". So she scribbled it out and wrote the right one. Ummmm, that's a little scary! When I was taken back to the room, the doctor came in, and gave me several shots in a row. While they were 100% effective at numbing me (which is a huge consideration, I know), I think he gave me about 6 shots in 15 seconds. Literally just stabbing them into my gums. Nothing like I've ever experienced in my years of having dental work done. I was obviously very nervous about having a tooth pulled (almost hyperventilating) and he barely offered any assurances other than a quick "I'm the one that has to worry - not you." Gee, thanks. It took him 5 or 10 minutes to remove the tooth. Then I never saw him again. He said his assistant would answer all my questions, despite my request to talk to him. I should have been concerned when I was having a dental assistant answering questions about recovery from a major procedure. She knew nothing! I asked what I needed to do to prevent dry socket, and she said I didn't need to worry about it. I said "Well, I've heard I shouldn't suck on a straw. Anything else?" and she said 'Oh, don't worry. You can suck on a straw." WHAT?!? That's tooth extraction 101. No, you can't. I hated the practice so much that I refused to even go back for my checkup. I felt like a herded cattle being rushed through so they could charge as many "consultation fees" as they could. They could not care less about their patients. STAY AWAY.

My husband went there first in the summer of 2022 and had an ok experience. They talked him into some services (not paid for by insurance), as vanity got the best of him. It was a waste of money, but that's on us. I went next about a month later. The dentist told me I needed to replace a filling that was roughly 30 years old, as it could crack and fall out at any time (I had asked about it because it was old-school black, and vanity got the best of me). Out of fear, I booked the appointment before I left that day, but was unable to follow through due to a change in my insurance coverage. I am so glad I was forced to wait!! I started reconsidering the dentist's advice, and went for a second opinion at Modern Dental. Not only did the new dentist say my filling was as solid as a rock, he was able to replace it (in house, the same day) and for half the cost. My husband went for his final visit there on Dec 7, 2023. He said they again tried to talk him into services (again, not covered by insurance), and this time he opted out...and began shopping for a new dentist. Fast for to 2 days ago. I received a bill for $150!! No itemization on the invoice, just a note about x-rays taken on Dec 7 (covered by insurance). I called to find out why we were being billed, and they couldn't answer me...said they'd call me back. I called them yesterday, threatening to refer them to the Attorney General in Texas if they were not able to provide an itemized statement of medical services. They finally called me back today...something about there was a billing error (by their 3rd party billing company), and that we only owe them $25 for a fluoride treatment on Dec 7, 2023. I told them I would not pay them a dime until I got an itemized list of medical services...we'll see if they send me one...
