Unfortunately, our experience began on a very disappointing note. Scheduling our appointment with Natalie was unnecessarily stressful and frustrating. The process lacked the level of professionalism and customer service we'd experienced in the past, making what should have been a simple task far more difficult than it needed to be. Our experience did not improve once we arrived. Nicole was unprofessional from the moment we met her and remained that way throughout our entire visit. Her demeanor was unfriendly, and her interactions with us lacked the courtesy, respect, and professionalism that every patient deserves. Rather than making us feel welcomed or valued, she made the entire experience uncomfortable and unpleasant. Overall, the quality of patient care fell well below expectations. read more

had a very embarrassing and unpleasant experience with the office manager. She never even introduced herself before accusing me of owing them over $1,000 -- which was completely incorrect. I immediately tried to explain that I had already paid in November 2024 for my two dental crowns, but she kept repeating that there was no record of any payment. This all happened in front of other patients, which was humiliating and stressful, especially knowing I was right. At one point, I mentioned that I had just paid $5,000 for an upcoming surgery, and her response was, "Oh, congratulations." I found that comment incredibly insensitive and unprofessional, given the seriousness of my situation. I said is nothing to congratulate me for a mayor back surgery, and she responded oh well my husband has one of those . Eventually, I told her to call me once she had proper documentation showing that I owed anything and left the office. About twenty minutes later, I received a call from Stacy letting me know that it had been a mistake and that I didn't owe anything after all. The least the manager could have done was to call me herself and apologize for her behavior. Because of this experience, I will never return to this office. No patient should have to deal with that level of disrespect or lack of professionalism. read more

Wow! I cannot say enough great things about this place! My fiancé has been coming here for years so we chose to bring our kids here and they LOVED it! They were so gentle and kind with everything! My kids are so excited for dentist trips now! The staff are the SWEETEST people! I decided to book myself an appointment and honestly I've never been happier. I haven't been to the dentist in a little over 10 years. I had a horrible experience at my last dentist office where they told me I needed procedures done before I could even get a cleaning. North Texas Dental Associates said that wasn't the case at all. They were so sweet with me, walked me through everything they were doing, came up with a treatment plan and went over all the costs. Not only were they so caring with me, but I got a blanket, a massage chair to sit in while they did everything and I got to watch a show. Once everything was done, they gave me a cute box to take home! I haven't been this excited about going to the dentist as a woman in her 30s in over 20 years. A huge thank you to Angie, Dr Hillstrom, Dr Ross and all the staff in the office. I can't wait to come back! This was my first time visiting North Texas Dental. It had been some time since I had visited the dentist and I was a little nervous about what they would have to tell me. Everything was beautiful, comfortable, and clean. The staff was very welcoming, efficient, knowledgeable, honest, and up front. They were also cost conscious for me, without me having to ask or say anything. I have had bad experiences with other dentists saying that I needed all kinds of work that was going to cost a fortune. But that was not the case here, and I felt that I could trust what they were saying was needed to be done. My hygienist, Suzette, and dentist, Dr. Hillstrom were absolutely fabulous! Read carefully others' reviews regarding billing practices at North Texas Dental Associates. We have an ongoing, months-long disappointing experience with North Texas Dental Associates stemming from dental cleaning appointments in February 2024. We feel it's important to share our experience so others can avoid similar issues. Our February 2024 visit was advertised under a "New Patient Special" for $199 per person, which was a major factor in choosing this practice. However, we were charged a significantly higher fee of $390 per person for a total of $780, which also included charges for a full suite of x-ray services that were not provided for one of us. After the conclusion of the appointments, certain members of the professional staff attempted to pressure us into signing dental plan agreements for the $390 per person fee, which we declined. The high-pressure sales tactics, reminiscent of time share sales techniques, made us feel extremely uncomfortable and trapped in their office. We relayed our concerns to North Texas Dental Associates, noting that with the overcharge, we certainly paid for the "complimentary" NTDA-branded plastic key rings and water bottles, which were of no interest to us. Despite several attempts by us over nearly seven months to resolve this issue amicably and obtain the refund owed for the higher-than-advertised charge, the practice has delayed the refund and continued to pressure us into signing their dental plan agreements. In August 2024, nearly six months after our appointments, we were informed in writing that the practice might attempt to charge us an additional $568 to $583 (on top of the $390 per person already charged for the dental cleanings) if we continued to refuse to sign their dental plan agreements. This felt like an attempt to surprise bill us. After reading other reviews, we believe we are not the first to encounter issues with North Texas Dental Associates' billing practices. Over the course of the past several months, representatives of North Texas Dental Associates have verbally and in writing acknowledged that the charges were incorrect and agreed to a refund of $482 based on the actual services received, with no conditions attached to receipt of that refund. Had North Texas Dental Associates simply issued the refund as promised, this issue could have been resolved. However, despite these acknowledgements, North Texas Dental Associates has remained uncooperative in issuing the refund in a timely manner. In late August 2024, just as we were informed that the refund would be forthcoming, North Texas Dental Associates unexpectedly imposed a condition on the refund, requiring us to sign a release that would prohibit us from reporting our concerns to "agencies, organizations and boards" as well as "all types of press and media, social media posts, online forums, internet or paper reviews and other similar media." This unexpected demand and the conditions therein by North Texas Dental Associates was a blindside, and we chose not to sign the release, particularly as we believed that restricting our ability to report our concerns to the proper regulatory agencies might be against public policy. This type of behavior raises serious concerns for us about the transparency and integrity of North Texas Dental Associates' billing practices. Unfortunately, the matter remains unresolved, and we have still not received the refund from North Texas Dental Associates. We will update this review should we receive the total refund owed. NTDA deserves more than 5 stars. I just left my first appointment with them and I'm confused... should have I enjoyed the dentist that much? Every single thing about their practice has a personal touch to it. When you fill out new paperwork, one of the pages lists perks they provide to make your experience more comfortable. It included things like memory foam neck pillow, moisturizing lip balm, headphones, blanket, glasses, cold bottled water, hot towel after treatment, and more. Hi wait am I at the spa? You can select which ones you want and the staff makes sure they follow through on that. I saw Dr. Patel, who was great. He was extremely personable, conversational, and welcoming. Beth was my hygienist and gave me the most gentle teeth cleaning of my life. On top of all that, it was the most beautiful, clean, bright & airy office. New patients: they give you a little welcome gift. Mine had a handwritten note and a really cute necklace, among other little gifts. I can't recommend them enough. read more

Let me preface this by saying that I had a really bad experience with a dentist in college. They filled cavities poorly which caused an incorrect bite and months of pain. I've been a little gun-shy with the dentist ever since, but I was raised my entire life getting biannual cleanings and caring for my teeth, so I've remained consistent every six months for my entire adult life. 10+ years later, I'm still afraid of the dentist, hate getting my teeth cleaned and struggle with anxiety when my appointment comes up. Enter North Texas Dental Associates - I have been going here for 5+ years and have had a great experience consistently. The dentists are extremely kind and patient. They are gentle and capable. Hygienists have been thorough and sensitive to my concerns or discomforts. I have seen at least three different dentists and five or more hygienists and that has been my repeated experience. I have been a patient here since like 2014. I wanted something to help me feel more confident about my two front teeth and the fact that the enamel had been worn down. I originally was offered to get bonding and the process went well. I ended up not needing care aside from the occasional cleaning. I went back recently because they suggested many times that I get veneers. I finally agreed and set the appointment. I had a few reschedules because of various reasons but then ended up in the office to start the process. I first received a temp setting. This is just an impression that stays on your teeth until you receive the permanent set. I only had my two front teeth done. When I received the treatment plan, it was discussed and signed. In the agreement, they stated I had wonderful insurance and that it would cover both teeth. There would just be a bit of a fee. I went in for the perm veneers and the color was AWEFUL!!! Like completely unnatural. Preemptively, I had overheard them state the color, and noticed that the chosen color was 5 shades darker than mine. This was sort of offensive!!! Then I left there with another temp set. On the way out I was told that one of the teeth in fact would not be covered and they asked me to pay over $200. I was pissed but blew it off. I have struggled with the teeth for a long time and just wanted it to be over. The next time I went in for the correct color it has been like a month at this point. I went in, they got everything situated and I approved the color. It is still not fully correct. On the way out from that, they hit me with yet another fee! They said that I had to pay for the re-shading??? WTH I was so angry and said I wouldn't pay for it. I am pretty sure Dr. Hilstom came up to the front to tell the staff to not charge me, as this was not my fault at all. Fast forward to like last week? One of the veneers just literally fell off. Like, at night before going to sleep. So, when they do veneers they file down your tooth. It is gross and uncomfortable because it is sensitive. I called them that night and left a message explaining. I also sent an email to the office manager. No response. So I drove over there and requested an appointment. In the beginning, I was told that I can come in whenever I needed to put it back on. So I did. I am not walking around with the veneer falling out. It was SUPER inconvenient because I had a doctors app. So, they told me that they could not help me and that I needed to come back at noon. This was the same time as my app. I also had an app for my son. I was told that I could come back at 12 or 2. But they had more availability the next day. I was SO angry. After moving my app around, I accommodated them. I went in at noon and was lectured and told that the veneer shouldn't have fallen out and "what did you eat?" Like I am an idiot and chose to eat something that would harm it. I didn't even floss because I was paranoid. They are expensive and I wouldn't risk that. Plus, if the adhesive lasts 7 years, why the hell would it fall out that easily??? Anyways, I waited in the lobby for another 20 minutes and they came to get me. Dr. Hilstom was SUPER rough with my mouth and honestly, I just felt hostility from everyone there. They all have sadistic smiles when they ask you for even more money. They have no compassion. It is very much like a bad relationship. It starts off well with presents and you are adorned. Then, over time they treat you like crap and take your money. Then, they pull you back in again and you pay even more. After I finally left, they tried to charge me $75. WTH! They truly nickel and dime. It is horrible. The work is not good. It may look like a nice facility but I do not see that lasting long. There ARE better places out there. Just do your research. I found a dentist closer to me, that was actually willing to get me in the same day when the veneer fell out. You guys lost generations of patients from this situation. I will not recommend you and I will not give you another penny. read more

North Texas Dental is truly the Ritz-Carlton of dental practices. Everyone was cheerful and glad to see me. My appointment started with my hygienist, Angie, greeting me and giving me a tour of the facilities. Every person waved and said hello. The cleaning and xray process was incredibly thorough, and Dr. Ross was professional and explanatory (and nicely humorous). The practice is state of the art and almost seems luxurious. This place is full of Crooks !! I thought I found a good dentistry to go to but I was wrong. I got an estimate for how much my procedure is going to cost me and how much my insurance is going to pay. So I agree to the price and went through with the procedure. 3 months later they told me that my insurance didn't cover the rest of the payment so I have to pay the rest out of pocket. What the FUCK !!' Why would you waited 3 months to tell me when you supposed to know up front on what the insurance cover or not before I did the procedure ??? I was really excited about switching my dentist clinic to Ntdassociates but I didn't even make it to my first appointment because they called me to cancel my "re-scheduled" appointment (which I had over 4 weeks ago so that I could specifically do it during the holiday and not have to take a day off work). They're solution was to either give me a 7a.m. appointment on a different day or give me a mid-day appointment after the holiday break which would require me to do what I purposely planed on NOT doing and request a day off. I was very disappointed when the called to suggest to cancel my appointment altogether. This is a place that closed down for Covid and was able to re-open. Perhaps they have plenty of patients and they care to gain new ones(?) Either way, I'm glad that I got to see what new patient care looks like from the office staff side, however, I can't speak for how the doctor's treat their patients. Hopefully you've had a better experience with them. ******UPDATE****** I'm leaving my original experience just so people can see what happened and how it was rectified. Soon after my cancelled appointment Dr.Hillstrom took the time to personally get in touch with me. He listened to my account of events and apologized for the situation. Not very many doctor's take the time to reach out to patients and try to rectify the complaint. Dr.Hillstrom made sure I got scheduled within the time frame I was originally requesting, which I thought would be impossible...but he made it happen for me. His office is super clean and beautiful! I had my first cleaning there with Michelle (which she's very gentle and thorough ). As I sat there with my hygenist I picked up on the fact that Dr.Hillstrom is attentive to ALL his patients. He visits with them regardless of what they are getting done or who is working on them. I was very impressed with how warm and approchable he is. If I could give NTDA 10 stars, I would. Not only is the team wonderful and nice, they also make your cleaning feel like a trip to the spa. Upon arrival, I was given a sheet to select the amenities I would like during my cleaning (see pic). I watched a movie with a comfy neck rest and blanket during the appointment. At the end of my hour, they gave me a gift bag (see pic) with goodies including a necklace, water bottle and dental care kit. THEN....on Monday, I received a box fro Tiffs Treats filled with warm cookies with a note that thanked me for making them my dental provider (see pic). I truly have never been treated better. This review has been almost a year in the making. Dr. Hillstom's dentistry is overshadowed by his incompetent billing/business office that has an extremely high turnover rate. The billing department totally messed up on both Hubby and I's bills and mine was just a routine cleaning. The first office manager went through an elaborate bill ceremony before treatment in which we had to sign an official document showing our responsibility. We paid more than our responsibility and was still sent a $150.00+ bill. Several phone calls asking for clarification as to why we still owed more fees, with no call back from the billing office, we get a letter from a collection company. I was finally able to talk to someone competent after leaving a message for Dr. Hillstrom personally. The office wrote off the amount, but Hubby is still left with a half completed implant. We will look for another dentist to complete the work since we do not want to go through another nightmare billing fiasco with NTDA. Tip to Dr. Hillstom: hire a competent billing department and make sure patient's calls are returned. That speaks more for your business than the necklace, t-shirt, and water bottle gifts. read more

It's taken me time to leave a review because I had mixed feelings about this office. Sorry for the long review. The staff is very friendly, and they are all very accommodating- but my issue was with Dr. Patel. My first initial appointment (cleaning) was fine and I had concerns. I had to come back for two fillings. Dr. Patel originally told me he would do the fillings on two different days so that both sides of my mouth weren't numb. That was fine with me. So when I came to get my first filling done, afterwards Dr Patel asked if I would be okay with him going ahead and doing the other side without any numbing. I was very hesitant as I already hate any dental procedures period. But he assured me it was very small and that if at any time I felt pain, I could raise my hand and he would stop. So I agreed. Well he gets started and it's immediately uncomfortable and I tried to bare through it but I finally had to raise my hand and say it was too much. He asked if I could please hang in there "because he was too far in and it wouldn't be long"- he basically said he wasn't going to stop. What choice did I have? I already raised my hand like he said to do and he did not stop like he promised me. I was very anxious and in pain. I left that day knowing I would not be back to see Dr Patel, and I moved to Houston shortly after. Guess what? My new dentist has NO problems numbing both sides of the mouth in the same day. Good dentists, but the billing is outsourced and office will not answer or look into billing questions. Best of luck if you have insurance dispute. Billed for small amount my insurance did not cover. Invoiced on last of month, sent in check immediately for full amount. 6 days later I was invoiced again showing payment over 30 days past due. Called the office and they told me they don't do the billing, and gave me a number to call. Office told me the billing service will call you back in 48 hours. Its been over a week still no call back. Now I don't know if check is lost in mail or what. So, I decided I would pay on line. You cannot figure out their password/user name policy and they leave no clues other than it can't be more than 9 characters. I was in computer security and passwords we recommended were 12 characters with special characters specified. So, now I thinking paying on-line is probably not a good idea. Called office again and asked to speak to office manager. Well, they are going to call me back in couple of days. BTW the check finally cleared 14 days after I sent it in, but still no response from office. Good dentists, but good luck with insurance and billing. read more
