doctor is great but their billing is not. They did not honor the insurances in network negotiated price. They charged me 3059.40 but my explanation of benefits showed that I should have paid $1097.90 per negotiated rate. The billing lady stated that the state of Texas allows them to do so If insurance does not pay part of the bill. They charged my husband $5288 for his procedure. His explanation benefit showed that he should have been billed $401.80 After complaining to my insurance, they refunded $4000 dollars and kept $700 additional dollar. check your explanation of benefit always. I would be doing everyone in the city of Dallas a disservice if I didn't alert you on how incompetent this doctor's office is. 1.) My appointment was scheduled at 4:00pm, I didn't see Dr. Coke until 5:00pm. When I finally met the physician, she apologized, prescribed me medication for bacteria only and said her office will follow up with me through email and said she would wave my consultation fee since my appointment time was pushed back to closing time. I was rushed out by Ashley and was told to follow up through email since it was closing time. No surgery date. No plan of care. Just out the door around 5:30pm. Waiting wasn't a problem, the lack of communication for surgery date and consultation fee was an issue and it gets worst. 2.) I call the office back for a doctor's note. They had a hard time comprehending why I needed a doctor's note for my employer but I had patience and told them it was requested for me to take paid sick time. So, they send me another patients plan of estimate with their first name, last name, address, and how much their surgery is going to cost. They have sent me another patients information instead of sending me a simple doctors note. I called them back to let them know. They tell me to destroy it. They will send me the doctors note. It gets worse. 3.)I call the office today to pick up medicine prior to surgery. She says: " you pick up medication after surgery not before" so I arrive for my surgery, Im strapped up with tele monitors, oxygen in nose, blood pressure machine hooked and all of a sudden the doctor comes in: We can't do your surgery because of your blood pressure. The medication we prescribed would have helped. ... This is the same exact I office I called hours before to ask about medication. And Ashley told me I had none to pick up.... I spent $100 worth of groceries for wisdom teeth healing, took off a full day of work, my 76 year old Aunt drove an hour from her home to the doctors office to be my driver. **BEWARE** before scheduling a surgery with this office. We paid for a consultation, given an estimate and was told our insurance would cover a portion of the wisdom tooth removal. We agreed to the price and went forward with the surgery. After the surgery was over the office added on additional costs saying it was more complicated and took longer than expected. There was no way for me to question this so I agreed to pay my portion of the surgery. I received a call from the office several months later stating that their office got it incorrect and our insurance would not cover all of the surgery because she is under 13 years old. She was 12 at the time and turning 13 the next month so we would have absolutely waited until she was 13 when it was covered. I was obviously upset with the office as they were the ones who did not check on our insurance like they said they would. We paid for a consultation so that we could have accurate information regarding payments and insurance coverage. This office is refusing to accept that their billing department did not do their job and trying to charge us an additional $424 on top of what we already paid. We wouldn't have had to pay this if their office would have done their job up front and checked on the terms of our insurance as we were told they did. Awful experience! I was sent to them for an evaluation of a suspicious lesion. She wanted to recheck in 2 weeks and we did. Then she recommended removal. I have spent months trying to get this time sensitive biopsy done! They used the excuse of not getting clearance from the other doctor. Finally i hand delivered the clearance from the first MD to her and this was not good enough. I have no trouble contacting the first physician and they tell me that they have actually sent the clearance to her office two times! I have asked Dr. Coke's office to call and have them fax it to them several times. Dr. Coks's office said they cannot get anyone in the office on the phone (over the last 2 months). Multiple conversations lead to the same result no matter how many times I contact them. I am finding another Dr but I will have to go through this whole process again and waste time and money because the staff at Dr. Cokes office is incompetent and is clearly delaying my medical care! I have read other reviews with similar issues unfortunately not before I saw her. Do yourself a favor and find someone else. BEWARE...Don't do it! Dr Christine Coke is a terrible doctor. Took my son to have his wisdom teeth extracted. They would not allow me to go back with my son before putting him to sleep..not to mention the old lady at the front desk was extremely rude.. we should have left then, I still have guilt today from not following my instincts...during his scheduled follow up visits we would express to Dr Coke that my son's pockets seemed to not be healing well, she would respond rudely and say well he's just not cleaning the pockets correctly..long story short ..jumping ahead to a month later my sons right side of jaw and tongue was still numb. When I addressed this with Dr Coke she was not concerned and sent us on our way. Two months later he's still numb so I took my son to another DDS for a second opinion. This doctor after doing several test discovered that Dr Coke had damaged his Lingual Nerve during the wisdom teeth surgery. This doctor was extremely shocked to hear that Dr Coke could had made such a terrible error in negligence and he offered to help us in any way he could...but the damage was done and needless to say 7 years later my son's jaw and tongue are still numb and his beautiful smile has been affected.. It's heartbreaking as a parent to know that after doing my research and choosing Dr Coke "a trusted doctor/peer of our community" my son had to pay the price for my bad decision to use Dr Coke and Dr Coke's failure to care about her patients and her knowing full well of the damage she caused.. I came to Dr. Coke because she was recommended to us by our orthodontist and because she is in our insurance plan. My teenage twins each had all four wisdom teeth extracted on the same day in March. I'm happy to report all went well. To begin, I had read past reviews of the long wait time. I did speak with the office before our first visit about this and the woman confirmed that, yes, it's true. There can be a long wait time if your appointment is not among the first of the day. she explained that this is because each patient is different and every day there are unforeseen circumstances. I feel that as long as I was mentally prepared to sit in the waiting room for 45 minutes or so, I wasn't going to be upset about it. At least I was warned, and I appreciated her honesty. In the end, we waited about 30 minutes for each visit. Not awful. We went in for a consultation and Dr. Coke and her staff couldn't be any nicer. What really put my mind at ease is that Dr. Coke is also a full medical doctor. So should any complications arise (and she said none to date had never arisen to the point that she needed to employ her MD training), Dr. Coke was prepared. She also gave us all of the pre-op AND post-op instructions at this consultation, which is terrific because there is quite a bit to know. The instructions are much easier to absorb when your mind as a parent is clear, instead of having it all dumped on you the day of the surgery. I understand that not all oral surgeons do this...as if the info is on a need-to-know basis. My daughter was anxious beyond belief about the procedure and started bawling in the consultation. Tissues were handed out and Dr. Coke said she would prescribe Xanax to give to her before the procedure. I'm not a great fan of meds, but let me tell you: that one Xanax pill the night before the procedure made a WORLD of difference in our experience. I will forever be grateful to Dr. Coke for that. The procedure itself was uneventful, thank goodness. I was anxious myself because I had taken the kids by myself, and worried how I was going to manage getting them home. But it was all smooth sailing.The nurse helped me walk the kids to the car and called a few days later to make sure all was well. It really couldn't have gone any better. My daughter did develop a slight infection three weeks to the day after the surgery, which I didn't realize could happen. But it was quickly taken care of and, once again, Dr. Coke and staff were terrific. It was nipped in the bud. I am so happy to have this behind me and wish all of you parents good luck. As Dr. Coke says, irrigation is KEY. And you have to get the water syringe INTO the hole...not just around the hole. TIPS: The follow up visit after the procedure is optional, but I encourage you to take your child, even if all is going well. The visit is part of what you have already paid for, so may as well use it. The nurse can do one thorough irrigation and show the child, with a mirror, how to correctly irrigate. She will know right away whether the child has been irrigating correctly by how much food she is able to irrigate out. Believe me, the last thing you want is to have food particles left in the hole. This is when dry socket and infections arise. Do your selves a favor and follow the pre-op instructions to a T. They are very strict about how much water you can drink before the surgery on the day of. It's no joke. I believe she WILL cancel the surgery if you disobey. read more

While I appreciate what little she did for me, I am absolutely shocked at how much I was charged! My jaw was out of socket (was intubated in hospital) and Dr. Coke was the only oral surgeon that could get me in immediately. Because I'd had 2 sips of water hours earlier it was decided she wouldn't put me under. She took literally less than a minute to move my jaw around until I could finally close my front teeth. Back teeth remain apart though to this day, and she said to come back next day and not to eat or drink for at least 6 hours. I came back the next day to be told my bill was well over 3 grand. And I had to pay at least $1500 up front then around $200 a month until done. Went back to see her and all she wanted to do was send me to a tmj doctor so that person could get me a strap of sorts to keep my jaw from locking open again. That's it. I'm out thousands for less than a minute of work. She said she doesn't set the prices she just puts in the code for what she did. Needless to say, but I've told everyone I know to stay the heck away from this place. I'm glad for what she did, but at those prices I could have gone literally anywhere else the next day and gotten WAY more help for WAY less money. read more

I have not used Dr. Coke's services so I want to be very clear on that point in leaving this review. I have; however, dealt directly with her office in regard to setting up a consultation. That said the person who answered the phone was very polite. I'm writing this, though, so that other parents who are seeking out oral surgeons have the benefit of time saved. Be aware that Dr. Coke's office: A- charges for consultations and B- will not state the cost of said consultation. Instead, the fee "...is between $70 and $130 and...may or may not be covered and... that cost is determined at the time of the consult." Said fee range was not disclosed to me directly by the way - I inquired (well into the conversation). Additionally, that's a significant charge gap. When I asked why the cost was so high, instead of being provided an explanation of the services the charges were to cover I was told, "Actually Dr. Coke is less expensive than most." I simply don't find that an acceptable or reassuring answer. Again, it is my understanding Dr. Coke is an excellent dentist/oral surgeon. However, I want to be very clear that many times parents are trying to find both financial balance and reassurance; and, this office simply did not provide this in our case. read more

The wife had her lower wisdom teeth removed yesterday (she had her upper wisdom teeth removed back when she was a teenager) and I don't think it could have gone any smoother! Thanks to Dr. Coke, everything has gone off without a hitch. We arrived on time, they signed her in in just a few minutes and off she went, they started the DVD and it was Thor. 30 minutes later, they called for me and told me it was done - Thor and I hadn't even left Jotunheim yet! So I walk into the room where the wife is looking pretty dazed. They said she'd be like that for a couple hours and she'd probably sleep it all off. "Get a milkshake for her to eat, nothing with seeds, later softer foods, rinse with salt tomorrow - 1/4 teaspoon of salt to 8 oz water, no carbonated drinks, use the syringe after the 5th day......" a huge deluge of information was laid on me. Followed by, "this is all written in your bag of goodies." Oh good. They said the tooth extraction went easily and quickly and that the wife did great. They helped me take her to the car and we brought her home, she ate her milkshake and she napped on the recliner for 4 hours. We watched a movie and went to sleep and she's feeling great. No bleeding from the sockets. The wife is normally a pretty slow healer so something is definitely going right. Thanks Dr. Coke! P.S. I read another review and it got me doing some google research. According to what I found, a panoramic X-ray is equivalent to 1 day exposure to naturally occurring radiation that is constantly around us everyday. For whatever that's worth to you. read more

Dr.Coke is an exceptional oral surgeon. She is highly trained, skillful, and professional. I would highly recommend her to family and friends. I had 4 very difficult wisdom teeth removed last week. I am 30+ years old and due to the odd positioning of my teeth, I was a highly difficult case that several other oral surgeons wouldn't even come close to considering. Dr.Coke took on the challenge and was very detailed in explaining my situation. She took the time to answer all of my questions. I never felt rushed in visiting with her. The surgery went smooth and quick, with no complications. Recovery has been surprisingly well. Considering, I was a high risk case for several challenges to occur, I have experienced minimal pain or swelling. Her staff is very profesional, polite, personable, responsive and helpful. Every time I've called or visited they've treated me with respect, patience and professionalism. Yes, the office visit wait can sometimes be a bit lengthy, but that is only because Dr.Coke treats each patient with respect and professionalism, providing thorough explanation and patiently answering all questions in detail. Funny how people complain about the wait time at Dr. Cokes office. They forget that Dr. Coke is a one Dentist office and she never rushes to get you out. She is a perfectionist with a great bedside manner that makes you feel comfortable. They tell you to be prepared to wait. She gives you her full undivided attention when she is with you. Had a consultation appt at 11am today for my daughter to get her wisdom teeth removed. We were early. Per the note on the door, we called the office to check in and was told the waiting room is full. We waited outside. Office finally called us back about 11:15 to let us know we can come in. Once inside, we waited at least another 30 min. before going back to the room. Again, we waited in the room for another 10-15 min before someone came to do the preliminary stuff. At that point, I asked how much longer before the dr comes to talk to us. The nurse said that she was finishing up with another patient and she's on the last tooth. I asked, how long? She said maybe another 15-20 min. At this point I'm very frustrated , I asked if the dr can just call us because I had to get back to work. When I scheduled the consultation, I was told it would take about 15 min. Here is it, almost 1.5 hours later and still no consultation. I don't know why she would have a surgery going during our appt? There was no communication from her staff as to why she was running late. After 9pm tonight, dr calls and apologize for calling so late because she had personal issues at home. Honestly, I don't give a crap about her personal issues. We all have personal issues but that is unacceptable to waste 1.5 hours of my work day and blame it on something else. She still has a business to run and my time is just a important as hers. I would have gladly rescheduled today if her staff would have communicated that she was running late. So, rather than being understanding and apologetic, she blames it on COVID, her personal issues and that I "must" understand that there are some things out of her control and expect delays. Like I said, I would have been happy to reschedule if her staff communicated to me. Dr also asked me who our general dentist is because she wants to include in her letter when she sends the report that I do not like to be late. I told her she has no business doing that. I have been with my dentist for over 20 years and have never had a problem because they are very professional and run their practice right. They respect their clients' time and communicate when there's a chance of them running even a few minutes late. If you're looking for a great dentist, try Dr. Eseroff in Frisco. Anyway, we already had our appt for the wisdom removal scheduled. So I told the dr that on the day of surgery, if she is running late, I would like it communicated to me so I have the option to wait or reschedule. Dr didn't like that because she wants me to reschedule now if I think I may want to reschedule if she's running late that day. If I reschedule that day, then it's an open spot that she can't fill and she'd loose out on the money/business. Those were not her exact words, but she said something similar. I then mentioned that I lost out on making money for the 1.5 hours she wasted of my time while waiting in her office. She called me rude. Right back at ya lady. It was unprofessional and unacceptable to make me wait and not get consulted and then calling me after 9pm to blame it on something else, no apology for inconveniencing me, telling me to expect delays and only caring that she will be losing business if I reschedule that day. I had an appointment to have a tooth pulled that had broken off at the gumline. I drove 50 miles to get to her office. In the initial appointment, in FEBRUARY, I was given a yellow sheet of paper that I was supposed to keep up with until my appointment in AUGUST! Supposedly I was told, and the paper said "No food or drink for 6 hours before appt. and NO CHEWING GUM. When I called the Friday before my appointment to confirm time (I had heard nothing from this office), the girl reminded me no food. BUT she said nothing about gum. If you like having your time wasted, this might be a place to try. I was sent to this office via referral to get information on a tooth extraction and implant. When I tried to make the appointment over the phone I was subjected to Play 50 Questions: All I wanted was an appointment for a consult for informational purposes, but I played along until we got to "address" and then the insurance card information, which I didn't have on hand. I said I'd pay cash and ended up with an appointment over 30 days away. I called the referring dentist back and to their credit they called Dr. Coke's office and made an appointment for me for 4 days later. On the day of the appointment I arrived 10 minutes early, finished the paperwork a couple minutes before the appointment time, and still had to wait 20 minutes, and this was at 10 a.m. When I asked about the wait time I was told, "Appointment times are approximate." No, actually, they're appointment times. If I walked in at 10:20 and with the excuse that appointment times are approximate, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have been accommodated. That's not how "appointments" work. It's how walk-ins work. A few minutes later I was retrieved and talked to a nurse, I assume, who then said she'd check to see whether the doctor was in surgery or whether she could talk to me. Since the entire point of my being there was to talk to the doctor, I wasn't happy about that. The doctor was available, it turned out, but they acted like it was an afterthought, like it wasn't the entire reason I was there. As for the extraction procedure, it takes about 45 minutes, according to the nurse, but they tell you in the paperwork that they will make you sit in their waiting room for "40-60 minutes" from your appointment time until you're actually taken back for the surgery. It's good that they're up front about how they intend to waste your time, but it would be better if they did their surgery prep before the patient shows up. That's extremely rude and disrespectful to make people just sit there for zero reason as part of your SOP. Finally, I was told that my driver had to not just drop me off, and not just pick me up, but remain there cooling her heels for the entire 3 hour process. For what purpose? In case of an emergency? What would she do that she couldn't do over the phone? She's not trained in medicine. Were they going to use her car and a chain for the extraction? No. So she didn't need to be there throughout. So forget that. Again: They are open about how extensively they plan to waste your time, and I suggest that you believe them because my experience is that they do. read more

I would give this 0 stars if yelp would let me. I took my 15 year old son for consultation to remove wisdom teeth to Dr. Coke. Prior to this, our kids dentist for 8 years has taken my son's panoramic x-rays and then recommended this consultation with a dental surgeon. I am not a big fan of getting unneeded x-rays done, esp panoramic ones, esp on my children. So I called Dr. Coke's office to ensure they connect with my kids dentist and get the x-rays from them, prior to our appointment with Dr. Coke. When i showed up for the appointment, i realized they double booked us since they made us wait for close to an hour. Once we got our turn, Dr. Coke's staff told us they did not connect with our dentist, but insisted that its not a big deal to get another set of panoramic x-rays done again, after all insurance will pay for it! There are several things wrong with this picture : 1. Dr. Coke's practice was sloppy and should have gotten the panoramic x-rays from our kids dentist. 2. They don't care about exposing healthy kids to radiation from panoramic x-rays (this is the 2nd one for my son in 3 months, and health professionals recommend no more than 1 panoramic per year), at the opportunity to make a quick buck. 3. If they are careless about overdoing just the x-rays, will they overdo the dental surgery too? 4. The reason why health care is unaffordable for most Americans is because of doctors like Dr. Coke. I am writing this review so other families don't go through the same hassles that we did. read more

Expect to wait AT LEAST an hour AFTER your scheduled appointment time before being taken back to a room...and then more waiting until seen by the doctor. Hi! First off I want to say how amazing and caring Dr. Coke and staff are! I felt so relaxed and ready(though I was actually really nervous) for my procedure! I would highly recommend anyone to see her that needs dental treatment! I had my impacted 3rds removed. For a few years I was told by several oral surgeons how difficult it would be to attempt to remove one of them. An if you are to have any teeth removed and more then one . It's better to do them all at the same time. I went in for a consultation and she recommended for all 3 to be removed. An she removed all 3 with no issues! I've been a Dental Assistant for 4 years and I've seen a lot an I've assisted a few oral surgeons and I will admit it is scary to watch and most patients end up with a lot of pain. Not me! I am certain that my experience with Dr. Coke was unique in many ways, but in case this is in any way indicative of the general manner of the office, I offer the following cautionary tale: Today I brought my son to his scheduled oral surgery, the goal of which was to help a molar erupt. Our appointment was scheduled for 0840, and Dr. Coke had not arrived by 0940 when we left. Before the surgery, we were instructed to visit an orthodontist and have an apparatus attached to his lower jaw, which we did at considerable time and expense. When we arrived today, the nurse in our room asked us why the apparatus was in his mouth. When I said I didn't know, she berated me for not paying attention in my initial consultation. According to the surgical plan the tooth with the apparatus was scheduled to be extracted. This understandably caused confusion. Incredibly, the nurse and office manager looked to ME (the patient's father) for direction. I had to leave the room. My confidence in the team was eroding. It was at this point that I suggested that we just talk to Dr. Coke to clear it up. Oh, Dr. Coke is stuck in traffic. According to Google Maps w traffic there is no traffic where she claims to be stuck. Besides the point, really. Things happen. I suggested that I return to the waiting room and wait for Dr. Coke. In the meantime, I had already paid 1670.00 for the procedure so I thought it would be useful to see the itemized breakdown of the charges maybe this would shed light on what was supposed to be happening today. I requested the itemized form from the lady at the front desk. She said it was impossible to generate an itemized receipt until after the surgery. I tried to explain that I'd like to see what was planned to try to clear up some confusion. She asked if I could understand what she was saying "I can't produce the list until AFTER the surgery." I asked if she understood, "I've paid for the operation, certainly there is a list of things i paid for?" I lost that one. I was called back again by the office manager, I assumed because Dr. Coke had arrived. But no. Dr. Coke was now nearly an hour late, with no ETA offered. The office manager explained where she thought the mixup happened, and I agreed. However, I was beginning to feel very uneasy about having any of these people touch my son with a sharp instrument. I relayed my request for the itemized list to the office manager, who replied that she could produce it easily. I inquired as to why the front desk refused. I was berated again, and this discussion led to her asking us to leave. For the past hour my 8 year old has been in the chair, waiting for a very scary procedure. And now we are being asked to leave because Dr. Coke was not going to make it in time, and because the office manager felt I was being too hard on members of her staff. Did I mention that this was the second 1500+ dollar surgery that I had bought from Dr. Coke to get this molar erupted? From the first surgery, nothing happened except the growth of a cyst around the tooth in question. From the second surgery, we bought orthodontic work, then wasted our morning dealing with what felt like a terrible mix of apathy and incompetence. On my way out, I informed the very full waiting room that Dr. Coke was "stuck in traffic." None had been informed that the Dr. was not yet in the office (nearing 10am). In light of this, I'm recommending that you visit any one of 10 other oral surgeons in the North Dallas area, and if you find your regular dentist recommending Dr. Coke, ask for a second choice read more

Great oral surgeon. She actually saved me money because she thought that I should keep three out of four of my wisdom teeth. Although, she asked me to see my dentist just to make sure that her opinion is correct. I went to a different dentist (the other dentist wanted me to take all of my four wisdom teeth) and the new dentist agreed with dr Coke. Dr. Coke is nice and easy to talk to. Dr. Coke is professional outstanding and amazing Oral surgeon and medical doctor. What distinguishes Dr. Coke is that she is a oral surgeon and medical doctor. Her years of experience and training by far out do other general dentists. In my personal experience Dr. Coke had to do oral surgery on my to remove a tooth on my bottom jaw so I could have braces put on. Dr. Coke went out of her way for me and made me a priority after Dr. Willis struggled to remove the tooth after three attempts. I was sedated for about 15 minutes with a I.V. then after waking up the tooth was gone and I felt little pain the next day. In knowing time was a issue as I am first year law school student at Yale Law School in New Haven, Connecticut Dr. Coke went above and beyond for me and did a professional job. She will do my dental implants too when the time is right. Dr. Coke is the only oral surgeon I would recommend to anybody in need of a oral surgeon. She is understanding, polite, incredibly smart and skilled and the recovery or down time after oral surgery is minimal although it does depend on what your specific needs are too. I had the most awful experience at Dr. Coke's practice. The Dr and her staff were very inconsiderate and unprofessional. If you have plenty of time to sit and wait, then this is an office staff. They overbook patients, and there is never an apology for the hours you sit and wait. As Dr. Coke said herself, she "is the best" so there is no choice but to sit. I had my lower wisdom teeth removed a week ago. The procedure went well and I have felt minimal pain although I still have some sweling on the left along with soreness. More bothersome than anything. I called the office today and was told it could take a couple of weeks to get back to normal. I relaly appreciated the kindness of the staff and the dr. Dr. Christina Coke, DDS MD has been great to work with during my emergency oral surgery. Staff is AWESOME! I had plenty of calls keeping on task to prepare for this surgery due to being on other medications as well as health issues to manage before and after the surgery. So STAFF and Dr. COKE get 5 STARS. Plus counseling and scheduling included phone calls and text messages that helped me manage my timeline. High level of communication as she called my Cardiologist, Neurologist and Family Practice physician so every one was on board on my treatment plans. She is very thorough and will go above and beyond for her patients! I applaud Dr. Coke and her TEAM. They are there for you and to make you as comfortable as possible.
