I am part of Murray's annual maintenance program where you pay one flat fee and they come out twice a year to perform maintenance on A/C and heating systems. The value is amazing, and the program gives you a discount on any parts you may end up needing to replace when they inspect the system. Everyone I have worked with is friendly and has worked at the company for years - they all remember me (and my dogs!), they don't track dirt in the house, they wear masks, they're honest and upfront about what you do and don't need to fix, they are always offering ways to save money, and they occasionally throw in a free filter as a thanks for my loyalty to them. We haven't needed any major fixes yet, but that is likely a testament to how well they keep my systems maintained. If I ever need a major fix or replacement, I'm definitely going with Murray. read more

I have had the privilege of getting our furnace serviced by several skilled professionals from Murray HVAC during the span of twenty-seven years. They are conscientious individuals who do excellent work and explain the reasons for what they are doing. I have learned a lot about the heating system in our home just by listening to their pertinent comments. Just yesterday (May 6, 2021) we had an ancient mercury-pilot ignition system replaced. Terrific service. Honest and efficient. My AC was out, the fan ran in the condenser but the compressor never turned on. A much more common issue than I thought. I was pleased with the way they quickly explained what they were doing. They replaced only what needed repairing and I wasn't up-sold on maintenance or new parts that weren't needed. They came, they diagnosed, they fixed! Final cost was much cheaper than I thought I was going to pay. Very happy that the guys were respectful of my wife's garden (where the condenser sits). Our hot water heater started leaking at 11 at night (and by leaking I mean pouring copious amounts of water onto the floor including the carpeting). We called Murray and Cory came out 20 minutes later. He drained the tank made sure there would be no further leakage that evening and arranged to come back in the morning and install the new tank. They gave us a great price and Cory even cleaned our boiler and bled the radiators at the same time for no additional charge. Plus he showed us how to maintain the boiler which no other HVAC company we've had out has ever done. I would give them 6 stars if I could. They've won me over for life. Thanks Murray! read more

I preface my comments with the qualification that we have a long service history with Murray and that by personality and background I am a fairly engaged and knowledgeable/DIY homeowner. Murray installed our HVAC system and has subsequently maintain the system for over 20 years--periodic cleanings/"tune-ups" and a couple of emergency/"no heat" situations. I typically have been present when Murray has done work at our house--to observe and learn. To counter-balance a previous review, I feel obliged to report that our experience with Murray has been excellent over the span of 20 years. The service technicians have all been knowledgeable, pleasant and quite willing to explain what they are doing. As a homeowner you are often put in the position when dealing with service providers (HVAC, plumbers, the myriad of services needed to maintain your home) where you have to take the leap of faith as to what they are doing or recommend doing is the right or optimal thing to do; e.g. replace the motor or replace the whole system. We all do it and we have all been burned by the unscrupulous. I have always felt that the Murray technicians have been "straight-up" and forthright. Reliable and honest gets my loyalty every time. As a post-script to this note that I posted at least a month ago, I am a bit chuffed that Yelp removed this review. I feel it is well within their guidelines. I am a consumer and absolutely no association with Murray HVAC. They have consistently done good work for us; they deserve a good review. I am a knowledgeable homeowner and feel quite qualified to assess them. read more

Excellent service! Very friendly, fast and detailed service. My air conditioner stopped working, so had them come out. The technician, Dennis was incredibly friendly, which is always nice to see! He got it up and running in no time. Was nervous about the cost and being cheated (adding on stuff that's not broke), but Murray HVAC Inc. does NOT operate that way! We had a mysterious problem with our boiler leaking an oily fluid in mid August. Cory diagnosed the problem and provided a fix for our 30+ year old boiler that didn't require an expensive replacement (although we know that it is probably nearing the end of its useful life). The fix involved replacement of the pump and its relay, something that would need to have been replaced anyway when the boiler gives out. We may get another 5-10 more years out of our boiler, maybe only one year. In any event, we didn't need to do a high cost total replacement now. We will call Murray when that time comes. read more

We had used Murray off and on over the years -- initially when we moved to the area and lived in a huge house that seemed too big to heat adequately. They figured out the problem -- our giant boiler was not a match for the dinky iron pipes in the old house. Their solution -- add more pipes -- seemed silly at first, but on reflection and upon execution, worked brilliantly. Recently, on the coldest night of the year (we hope) our furnace (we now live in a more normal space) stopped working and the interior temperature started plunging. We called; they came out essentially right away, figured out the problem, replaced the part (they had to run back and get it) and all is now normal. And the price was, well, pretty reasonable, all things considered. They were considerate, well mannered and professional. We will call them again when we need them. read more

Finally tried Murray Heating after hearing about them from a number of different people. They've been around forever and the current owner is the son of the guy who started the business back in the 40's. Cool! The technician they sent knew all about my Nest thermostat-no other company I have used knew anything about it. Cool, again! Anyway, the technician cleaned the heck out of my air conditioner, made a few welcome suggestions about my stupid furnace filter (I can never change it without shredding it to bits! Arrrgh!) He wore shoe cover booties in my house, arrived on time, and was nice to me. That's enough to warrant another chance when the need arises. read more

Our heat went out in the middle of the night! I called and Cory returned my call within minutes! He was very polite and very willing to come out at 1 AM!! He arrived and put on shoe covers and was very mindful of our pets!! He immediately put us at ease and re assured us that he would handle our issues!! He went downstairs and found that the pilot light on the boiler went out. He replaced the thermocouple and had the heat back on in no time! He was very willing to show my husband everything on our boiler which no other company had ever done. While he was checking the boiler to make sure it was working properly he found another unrelated issue. Our water heater exhaust pipe was loose and slightly leaking into our basement! He reconnected the exhaust pipe and checked for carbon monoxide. He also located a gas leak on a valve and fixed it. Mind you this was at 1 AM! Cant say enough about Murray HVAC and will be calling them anytime I need them. If you want the best, call Murray!! read more

They explained things clearly and showed me what to look for over the winter season. They were pleasant, punctual and polite. Plus, they loved my dogs. Avoid this place at all costs. We have a Murray installed Carrier furnace (8 yrs old). We have had them out for service calls 3-4 times. We were always suspicious that our run of the mill unit that they sold us usually required "special parts" and multiple visits to repair, but paid anyway. Our blower motor went out Sat night, so we foolishly called them again. After an hour or so, the technician declared that we needed a "special motor" that he did not have and that he would have to make a special trip to the warehouse to get it (for an extra $100). The warehouse did not open up for him, so he returned that night to install a temporary motor. He then returned on Tuesday to install the correct motor. He left an "itemized" bill that totaled $1000 even. My wife called the office to discuss the bill because we felt that the time was overstated, wondered why he left his van running in our driveway the whole time and then charged us a fuel surcharge and how it conveniently came to $1000 even. She was told the owner would call her back. Before he called, the technician RETURNED TO OUR HOME, entered through a door he claims was ajar and demanded that my visibly pregnant wife sign the bill. She told him that she had called the office to discuss the bill and would not sign. He became belligerent and said he would not leave unless she signed (I was on the phone with her and heard the entire exchange). She had to call the police to have him removed from our property. When the owner finally called me back, he defended his employee's actions (despite the fact that his refusal to leave constitutes trespassing) and refused to adjust the bill (which was a minor concern at this point after his employee basically tried to strong arm my wife into signing the bill). I know this is a long standing company and that they will likely say we are crazy, but this is all true. We plan to just pay them the $1000 even to make this go away, but wanted to warn others against letting these people into your home. read more
