Hmm, where do I start? Well, if you look them up online, you'll find they have a number of other locations from here to Seattle. That should tell you something. Indecisive, we read the reviews and decided to try this place anyways. Entered and was greeted by a kid at the register in the back. At least he was welcoming, but then said "Here's our menu, just check off what you want, and I can take your order." Umm yeah... I scanned the QR code instead. I'm old, so I need pictures. The dining is open seating, which to me was fairly clean. The same kid ready to take our order, was also hustling, cleaning up tables. I did like the fact that each table had a thermos for some complimentary hot tea. But OK, back to ordering and the menu... The menu consists mostly of maki and nigiri. These are the simplest forms of sushi to create, therefore I can see why other yelpers mention that this place is more like a fast-food lunch type of sushi joint. I did try a "BakeMe Roll with Scallops" ($12.50) and didn't think it was anything special. I didn't notice the scallops were on top of a California Roll (another eye-roller due to no description online). Also tried the "Dinner Nigiri" ($18.95) and "Dragon Roll" ($14.75) which were both filling. Overall I'll give this place an average score of 3-stars. A quiet, little spot next to one of our favorite burger joints. Our first experience at a Musashi's was in Seattle. I wanted to see if the wonderful experience we had there could be had nearer to home. The food was good and fresh tasting. It took a bit of time to come out after ordering, but it was worth the wait. It's basically a no-frills place that I'd expect would be a hot spot for younger people. But I'm glad I could enjoy the food and the ambience as it was. The Churashi bowl was a mix of fish and rice. Finally came here on a regular Tuesday for lunch around 1130am with the family (hubs and our toddler) We were greeted warmly upon walking in by the staff and chef. It was a small space so it was easy for us to grab the high chair they had available and set it up in the corner. They had 6 tables available inside that can seat between 2-6 people with some bench seating, with a beautiful purple tree wall decal in the corner. Bonus point for being family friendly! You can scan the QR code for the menu but they also have physical menus available as well. You order and pay at the counter and then they will bring it out to your table. Each table has a hot thermo of tea, disposable chopsticks, soy sauce, and the small soy sauce trays. They had tea cups and lower sodium soy sauce available by the counter. I got the lunch nigiri and rolls special and hubby got the spicy salmon roll. I was suimpressed by the quality and freshness of the sushi at such an affordable price! $15 for 5 pieces of nigiri and 6 small roll pieces! Wow! And $6 for 6 piece spicy salmon roll - what a deal! The best part is that they were actually delicious! The rice is soft and perfectly seasoned and the fish are fresh. What a pleasant surprise! One of my top sushi places, hands down! I've been to a lot of sushi places across the US and the world and I think this place was a top contender. The fish was fresh and perfectly fatty. The beef was the most disappointing as the beef was overcooked that it felt like eating cardboard. It was really poor. The chicken was a tad better as I could bite and swallow it. Musashi's popped on my FYP for Instagram and I could not be more pleased. I took my brother and sister in law in last night and I have to say it was well-deserved rating of 5 stars. Here is what we got: NIGIRI: 1. Salmon was incredible I had to go back again. The rice to fish ratio was perfection and it taste PERFECT. Such a great bite. 2. Creamy Scallop: most places put too much mayo, but this one was my FAVORITE so far. I had to get more and share the love with my family by making them try some. ROLLS: 1. Dragon Roll: pretty typical dragon roll. I wish it had a little bit more filling, but overall still good BOWLS: 1. Sukiyaki Beef Bowl: this was a full bowl! It was a great sharing bowl. Yelp notified me of this new sushi spot that opened up nearby and that it was trending, so def had to check it out. It's more of a cafe setting, you order at the counter and seat yourself. Seating is limited due to the size of the space but we were there on a weeknight and got a table right away. The person that took our order was all smiles and made us feel welcomed. The menu mostly consisted sushi, but there were also some grilled items like skewers, teriyaki plates, and specials. We opted for sushi of course, but will have to come back to try out other things. Most of the maki rolls are fish and rice with nori, but I added avocado and cucumber to some of them. Went in on Wednesday around noon for some lunch. Ordered the scallop roll and the combination teriyaki with chicken and beef with a side of their vermicelli slaw and 3 little pieces of grilled zucchini (I think). I will say this; The scallop roll tasted great for the price I paid for. The scallops tasted sweet. The teriyaki combination was very basic in the most respectful way. In other words, they don't do anything fancy and don't try to make it as extra as it needs to be. Just simple grilled chicken and beef glazed with their teriyaki sauce. The simplicity of the proteins highlights the teriyaki sauce (I thought the sauce was great). I've never had a vermicelli slaw, but it wasn't too bad. As for the half zucchinis that came with my order... well let's just say when I saw it on my plate, I thought it was a garnish. Price, Quality, Quantity: 8.5/10 The pricing on the rolls and sashimi are great compared to the other restaurants around here. I only ordered the scallop roll and that tasted great, so I can imagine that the other rolls also are on par as well. The wait was a little bit longer than we expected, but still didn't take too much longer. The fresh salmon was very good and smooth and just melted at the bite. The musashi roll was really good and the saucey tuna melded really well with the California roll it was on top of. I had a sushi craving on a Saturday night and thought I would give Musashi's a try for some take out. It was about 8:00 and I called ahead, they said it would take about 15 minutes but it was ready when I got there in 10. I ordered the chirashi bowl and a scallop roll. The scallop roll was much bigger than I expected and filled with plump fresh scallops. All of the fish in the chirashi tasted fresh and buttery. The only downside was the unagi had some bones in it that had to be pulled out, they weren't the tiny ones that you can swallow. There was a generous amount of fish, the salmon pieces were folded in half and much longer than expected. It would be nice if there was a little more variety in textures in the chirashi, maybe some tamago and seaweed salad to break up the fish, but it was still very satisfying and cured my sushi craving! read more

The sushi at Musashi's is a big step above local conveyor belt joints, but below most of the full service sushi restaurants - which might be expected given that you order at the counter. Nigiri was decent size and quality, and I appreciated that they had a salmon belly special; the rice was slightly dry and bland, but tasted fine and didn't crumble apart. The Oregon roll was made pretty well with crunchy shrimp tempura, but I didn't expect the seared salmon on top to be chopped nearly into a puree (like typical spicy tuna) and it was slightly overly sauced. The eating area is small, modern, clean and pleasant, and staff was friendly. However, the bathroom was beat up and out of soap. My to-go order was entered incorrectly (inari, instead of unagi), which I didn't notice until checking the receipt, and needed a refund & new order to resolve.
