We frequent this place for their beef udon. It's decently sized and they are always generous with the beef. They use bulgogi beef for their udon and it's around $11 for a large bowl I believe- cant beat that price nowadays. Sushi is ok- they could cut their fish slightly bigger and make sure they rotate their plates out more often rather than leaving the old ones on there in hopes of someone taking it off the belt- that would be nice. Came in 30 min before closing time and was able to get seated to get some warm miso soup and a roll there . The rolls I took home (a sweet chili and jalapeño) one were fresh and warm. This was my first time here and I appreciated the clean and cozy feel of this restaurant. You can sit counter style or in a booth but I would say not recommended for groups bigger than 5 due to the small layout. The staff were very friendly and accommodating with the service and new sushi plates and rolls came out regularly ensuring freshness. There is a menu explaining all the rolls but honestly I just started picking out what looked good and it also helps to see the pricing of the color coded plates on the wall. Each plate ranged from $2-$4 which is super reasonable and a great way to try a variety of rolls. I especially loved the eel nigiri, spicy tuna rolls, and the special sushi pizza. The food is not regularly temp. checked though, don't let the condensation fool you. I grabbed two items meant to be hot and they were literally ice cold. And my salmon nigiri was actually warmer than the hot option was. The service is great, everyone is super polite, quick to help and get you checked out too. They have some tv's on, music playing, it's not noisy but there is background noise. The decor feels a bit cluttered, and it's not cleaned often (you can literally see the layer of dust). This place is back to 5 stars in my book again. Fresh quality sushi. Tasty veggie tempura. Nice customer service. Accurate orders. Reasonable prices. Clean table settings. My only complaint is with their hand sanitizer bottles. One time I lifted one of the bottles up and the cap was loose so the sanitizer went all over my clothes and the floor. Another time, I pushed the pump and because of a clog in the spout, the sanitizer gel shot out onto my daughters' face. It was a miracle that it landed between her eyes, face, and forehead instead of into her eyes. This issue is not bad enough to take down a star. Great place for quick sushi - this is not a fancy, best of the best type of place, this is my friend's and I's post breakup spot, so think that type of vibe. Lots of delicious sushi that you order to be made, maybe grab a plate of fried fish while waiting - honestly it's about fun, easy, and yummy sushi. They kicked us out at 8:32 when we came in. Apparently they changed their rules to 8:30 last seating but didn't lock the door. they were very happy to tell us we couldn't eat there and literally laughed at us and said "your to late last seating happened earlier"so we probably wont eat there again. They also still have their open sign on till their actual closing time 9:00. If your gonna change rules at least be kind enough to explain that and/or lock the door and turn off open signs, real shame because we really liked it here. 0/10 service skills 10/10 food just not today Edit: Manager apologized and informed me that the new regulation is last call at 845 and some employees must have misunderstood Changing the rating from 1star to 3! read more

Sushi was unimpressive and below average even for train sushi - the sushi rice had too much vinegar and most of the rolls had too much mayo/sauce/condiment on top to appreciate the flavors of the sushi. There was not much variety on the conveyer. There were also cheap, wrapped Costco madelines and macaroons on plates (we buy them frequently for our home) that are incredibly overpriced for this restaurant. We entered and ordered hot tea. What came out were two mugs full of barely-warm water and cheap green tea bags, which we had to steep and time ourselves. No additional water or tea was provided, and one of water mugs foamed with dish soap residue that could be tasted in the tea. By far the worst tea experience I've had going out to eat. Water was not provided or offered until most of the way through our meal. A DoorDasher was standing in the enterance waiting to pick up an order for a very long time, and he had to check in for the time estimate multiple times just to be told that they weren't sure when it would be ready. Sushi Zen is an okay sushi track in Aloha that I have been to a few times over the years and ordered takeout/delivery from a few times. I like it because they offer some different items than other sushi track places, ( ie mushroom and jalapeno bombs, sometimes beautiful berries) but I will say sometimes the rice isn't quite right and the fish seems just a little less fresh compared to our favorite sushi belt. Not inedible or bad, just not quite as good. I am home stuck indooors in dim light for 48 hours after having my face fried by the dermatologist, so of course we ordered sushi. It is our version of comfort food. I needed comfort. We ordered: -2 salmon nigiri ( 4 p/$6), ok. Dryish rice -2 unagi nigiri ( 2p/$3), missing their traditional nori belt and a little undersauced. -2 seared salmon ( 4 p/$6), fully cooked not just seared. Not my favorite. -2 avocado cucumber roll( 8p/$8-9). Yummy. -2 potstickers( 6p/ $6), deep fried. Fine. -Crab lover's roll, a california roll with crab stick on top( 8p/$10). I thought the rice was a little dry/hard. -jalapeno poppers, which is krab salad and cream cheese stuffed in a jalapeno half and battered and fried ( 2p to an order so 4p/$8 and we paid for both orders and only received 2p, but we asked to have rest refunded by the delivery service). No word on that yet. They were good. They are better in person vs delivered. They need to be eaten warm. All in all a good experience. A little expensive after the delivery service fee and tip were added. My teen wanted to rank it a four, I see it as a 3.5. I think it is fresher and more reasonably priced in person. It's a fine place for sushi belt. When I have eaten inside it has been clean, they are quick to fill your water, and they are very efficient. People complaining about service not being friendly enough need to head down the road to Red Robin instead. Just sayin'. read more

First time getting this. Had high reviews so was excited. The yakisoba was definetly a small portion. It was a bit dry and if I had one whole piece of broccoli I'd be impressed. Definitely skimpy on the vegetable. Sad because the flavor was good. The sushi was fresh, the jalapeños fresh as well. It was fine, nothing special a little on the skinny side. A friend of mine wanted me to try her sushi place. I was very excited to try because walking in, the restaurant has a great presentation and smell. We sat down and lady ask what drinks we wanted. She came back with drinks and as soon as she gave our drinks , my friend ask is we can order of the menu. During this time , a family walked in and she left to go help them which was completely disrespectful. You don't help other customers while you are helping others customer. We gave them the benefit of the doubt that she might not heard us. We continued to sit there for another 8 minutes, for her to go around and help the same family she left us for. Keep in mind we have menus in our hand while the family was already eating and wanted to order something off the menu. At the moment we left and the people next to us nod their head at us to validate that we weren't over reacting. I feel bad because it's the employee's that makes the brand look bad. read more

The new chef finely diced up the mango, whereas the previous chef did small meticulous cubes, that have just a little more flavor burst. And if you don't want package, wasabi/horseradish stuff with your takeout make sure to ask for real wasabi what you didn't have to do with the previous owner. read more

Sushi Zen look like much when you walk past, yet stopping in is one of the best decisions you can make (if you're a sushi lover of course). I got the Sushi Pizza and wow. A classic, sushi roll done right, and with a twist... flat. The perfect combination of flavors. Great little sushi joint, I go every Monday, more than worth it. Highly recommend the the underrated Sushi Pizza, the tasty New York roll, the Crab Lover and of course the strangely, yet aptly named Eyeball. The service is always top notch, even when it's a bit busier. Another great thing is it's quite consistent, so you know what to expect every time. Definitely one of the better Kaiten belt sushi places in the greater Beaverton area. The atmosphere leaves something to be desired but they definitely make up for it in quality of food and service. The dining area is small and tight which does make social distancing a little challenging during this time but they do have some measures in place to help with this. I typically judge a sushi restaurant by their Salmon Nigiri as this is likely a good indicator of how fresh their fish. That being said, I will say it is amazing. The fish feel fresh with a nice sweetness and overall mouthfeel to it.
