I see I have a VERY similar review to at least one other person here. We purchased a sectional sofa from Muse & Merchant recently, after a long search with lots of in-store testing and speaking to many stores' associates. After the couch arrives we very quickly started to experience some problems. We are not very happy with the couch quality or the customer service. The first issue we noticed was the cushion stuffing. The two corner cushions were clearly much less filled than the rest. They were saggy and deflated from day 1. Within a couple days of receipt we called the store and the rep IMMEDIATELY went into a rehearsed reply that this is not covered by warranty because feather couches need regular maintenance such as weekly flipping. Excuse me, but did you not hear us that we got the couch two days ago? The next issue we experience within the first week or two were the constant feathers poking through the fabric. The feathers they use are very small and the points are really pointy and scratchy, making the couch very uncomfortable. If we don't pick and pull the feathers out every time we sit against one, it's really an unpleasant seat. We started resorting to putting thick blankets under us, defeating the purpose of our beautiful new couch. A tech finally came to look at things and they restuffed our cushions, but he said he couldn't do anything about the feathers because we had already done the right thing and selected a premium fabric with a backing that was designed to prevent feathers from poking through. His advice was to just pick out the feathers that do poke through. We're unsure how that will affect the fabric and the full long term but I suppose we will have to live with it. read more

I purchased a couch after a long search. It arrived and it was perfect. After a couple of weeks the stuffing was coming out one feather at a time. I sent the store an email with pictures. I had not heard back so I called the sales clerk. She said yes this is normal did you look at the floor model? WTF..... I asked if I can get some of the pillows refilled as they are flat now. She said we would have to see. As you can see the feathers are all over the floor. I won't go back to have them refilled I will take it some where else. read more

I wandered in here on a quest for a new couch. It was a weekday and not very busy. Staff members were floating around but left me to my own devices until I had questions (something I really appreciate, I hate it when you walk into a store and the salespeople dive onto you like seagulls on a dumpster and trail you around the store squawking). They were friendly and pleasant, and helped me figure out if the couch that finally drew my eye would suit my needs. I paid the deposit, went home and measured my place to make sure (it's a big couch!), called up and paid the remainder, and set a date for delivery. Delivery window was to be sometime between 11-1 on the given day. Miraculously, they buzzed me right at 11:03! UPS could learn a thing or two here. And... these guys set a whole new standard of delivery, as far as I'm concerned. The two of them were personable, respectful, and worked together with a kind of precision and efficiency that I didn't expect; like this was not just a job, but a profession. It wasn't clear if my couch - did I mention it's a big couch? - could even fit in the elevator, and I had some nightmare images in my head of being stuck with it or having to send it back or sell it. But they were up to the challenge: removed the legs and pillows, and with great coordination and accuracy managed to maneuver it into the corner of the ceiling and get it tucked in there. They got it all prepped and set it up for me, and went on with their superhero day. It's only been a few days, but I'm very happy with the couch so far, and hope it'll have a long and happy life with me. I looked everywhere for a perfect recliner that is comfortable for my back yet stylish for my home and found it here, plus I was able to have it custom made with the leather I wanted . I needed a dining table and chairs , Looked everywhere and came back here and I fell in Love with the set I bought ! So purchased that as well! Purchased a blanket and pillow to match the new furniture that I bought and it all blends Gorgeous in my home ! Sales people were great! Only complaint , I was told that due to Covid , the recliner i ordered in September 2020 , that was suppose to be delivered and arrive in 4 months. I month later I asked about the update on the delivery and was then told it is now going to take 6 months ! I checked in again for delivery updates and was told it will take 9 months (not happy for the delay and delivery dates changes). read more

This is a rare find for Vancouver - great looking furniture at reasonable prices. Their owners and staff have (what is apparently not common in Vancouver) excellent furniture taste. Many of their pieces resemble ones you'd see at RH, but better built and better priced. Oh and their staff are friendly and give you room as you walk around the store. I make this a point because many of Muse and Merchant's neighboring stores and competitors say they do but they tail you uncomfortably and keep trying to make small talk. We've purchased a bed and some kitchen stools and they're beautiful well-constructed pieces. I have had my eye on their Bradford sofa for many months (it's such a beautiful sofa, though I'm surprised most of the other guests to their store seem to walk right past it, even though it's front and center) but unfortunately, delivery to where I live isn't feasible. To the person complaining about feathers seeping through cushions, you've obviously never owned feather filled furniture or bedding before. It's completely normal, it sucks, but it's one of the downsides of owning feather! Can't change physics. read more

This has to be my favorite furniture store in the area. Much of the furniture reminds me of a 'Restoration Hardware' look. Staff is friendly, yet not overbearing. I wish I had room in my place to buy all of the furniture. read more

After months of searching for the right pieces, we finally found a sofa and love seat here that we both absolutely love. We purchased those along with some chairs, a coffee table, and a side table. First off, the store is welcoming and fun to visit. You're able to look around and explore without being hounded. Secondly, the staff were really helpful and fun to deal with. They made some great suggestions and were so patient with me when I couldn't decide between two colours for a long time. The delivery team was fantastic. They were on time, super polite, and extremely professional. I tried to tip them and they refused! I've never seen that happen before! I cannot say enough good things about this place. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!! I love the look of the furniture, but unfortunately, the quality is severely lacking. We purchased a bed 2 years ago and it is falling apart. The support beams are made of thin pieces of different woods all placed side by side. They are wrapped in a nice fabric that hides the lack of quality. The wood slices packed together, and I don't mean plywood because that would be a better option that how it's built, do not provide any support and simply break. When I contacted Muse and Merchant, they only offered to fix it at a cost to me. I will never purchase another item from this store. We bought a sectional sofa, a dining table and a coffee table. Spent quite a lot of money here. when the coffee table arrived we found so many scratches on it. the delivery guy tried to fix it by a marker but it was no different. They promised us that the dining table will arrive in two weeks but it's been almost 5 weeks and it still is not here. Extremely disappointed with their customer service. They do not even follow up with you. I have seen much better service and it was a mistake shopping from here. I will not recommend this furniture store to any of my friends and family. read more

While I love the product here, the customer service is either non-existent or terrible. There is either no one around or they don't bother to acknowlegde you at all. As well - despite spending lots of money here - they don't seem to care about retaining business nor making returning customers feel rewarded or valued. Despite being offered a small "deal" at one point (no tax), when we came back later and requested the same deal, we were simply told no. There is ALWAYS room in this business to offer your customers a little break here and there - especially when they have never asked for nor received anything in the past. Disappointed to hear how the Manager at the Coquitlam location handled a very scary situation involving a dresser that fell on top of my nephew. Reasonable prices and very trendy styles. This store is apparently a sister company of ScanDesign and the two are located side by side. There are a lot of neat and unique pieces that would give your home some "pizzazz". We ended up buying a loveseat and chairs that would've cost hundreds more at other stores for lesser quality. Waited almost 3 months to receive chairs that I ordered. When they arrived one of them had a tear in the fabric. I returned it immediately and was told the fabric was cut with a knife and they would not exchange it!! Absolutely false allegation which I will be fully disputing. Their products come from China and the damage was not caused by us. Very disappointed! read more

Bought 6 dining room chairs with fabric protection. Everything was good up until the sale. After they received payment, it's like they forgot about the customer. I was told they were going to be ready in a week for pick up at the warehouse. I go to pick up a week later and the warehouse staff are just opening it 'brand new' out of the box. The fabric protector was not applied, 3 of 6 chair legs were scratched and chipped, and the patterns didn't match on every chair! So then I demanded to speak to the manager. He heard my frustrations and told me he would take care of it. Again he said give it another week for them to fix the issue and they will call me to confirm. Week goes by and I hear nothing so I called them back. Yet again they told me there's another delay due to time fixing all the imperfection. In total my order, which was in stock was delayed 5 times before I could of picked it up. Waited 4 weeks and a lot of my personal time. I've never experienced such bad customer experience before even after spending a lot of money here. I wouldn't want my worst enemy to go through what I had to. read more

We found the dining room chairs that we were looking for, they were delivered in a timely fashion. The delivery people noticed our table was not centered and corrected it for us. Purchased custom sofa from Muse and Merchant. Fabric ripping after 2 months of light use (we have only 2 people in our home). We did not damage this couch. The company itself said it looks like a "pull in fabric" and states we should have noticed defects upon delivery. Asked for manager to call me back, manager did not call me back. They say their "one year warranty" does not apply to the fabric. The fabric is also pulling at the seams at incision points and feather fill is everywhere. Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

I have been here twice in the past month or so. Both times I was greeted and assisted by Edyta. She is a lovely lady and the only person that has offered us help. I noticed a couple other workers there, not sure what their job is but they didn't appear to help many customers. When Edyta wasn't helping us she was running around assisting others. I have yet to purchase something but I am looking for the perfect couch. They seem to have a nice large selection of them from classic to modern looking. I would say that the prices are moderate maybe...definitely not cheap but not high end. I am sure I will be back. read more

They were having their no tax weekend - Was talking to a sales assistant named Anita - She was overly pushy and talked to us like we didn't know anything. I bought the customized sofa in the end of December. They said it would take only 10 days and after 10days they called me it would take ANOTHER TWO MONTHS because they don't have the fabric that I orderd. Well after we picked up the sofa after two months, there were stains on the both sides of arm parts. The sales manager in Coquitlam said I should inspect the funiture before pick up at the manufacture. Since I did not expect any stains(some kind oil spill) on the brand-new customizd sofa just released from the manufacture, the sales manager said they are not responsible for that and we need to talk to the manufacturer. (no idea how irresponsible after selling the product) but they could ASK the manufacturer do something about it. Eventually the manufacturer took my sofa back to fix this morning and they don't know how long it's gonna take. It's April and have no idea when I can get the sofa back. Well, I loved the design and furnitures at the museandmerchant, but I would never buy another product from here. Terrible service. read more

First of all, I like their furniture alot, However, my experience with them was not so good. There was a bar and a mirror that were sold as a set on the floor (floor model), however the tag had separate prices for each. so I asked one of the rep Edyta, to check the single set price for the bar. Her first reaction was..."you can't just buy one. You HAVE to buy the whole thing". I asked her to check if I really just can't buy the bar! She went to the computer and never came back. I went to the her desk and asked if she'd checked? She said she'd have to talk to her Supervisor, and I said well, if there are different prices on the items, why aren't they sold separately? She said I would have to order them in. Well, all along I was waiting for you to tell me the price and the time for the order to come in. I didn't mind waiting for the order, only if she wouldn't reject me so soon. I felt she just didn't want to serve us. She said she would call me today (Tuesday) to let me know when the order would be coming. If I don't receive her call by the end of today. I'm not going ahead with the order. If that's the way a company wants to continue their business. I'd be happy to take your business elsewhere. This isn't the first time buying their furniture, and this time, I've just had it.! read more

If you want self service, this is your place. I walked around the store and no one greeted me until I passed by the cashier desk. Staff is not knowledgeable about products. I asked what kind of wood is used on the sofa leg, she couldn't find it. I bought the sofa anyway and saw the description says it's walnut. Working out a delivery date and time took 2 weeks. The salesperson said they could use an outside delivery company since the dates proposed didn't work for me but then quickly pushed it's own company delivery service. So I relented and settled for delivery in 2 weeks. She said someone would call me a few days in advance to tell me the time frame. No one ever called. So i called the shop and they could not give me a straight answer. She told me to call the warehouse. The guy there didn't know the schedule for the next day!!! I was getting extremely frustrated. So i called the shop AGAIN!!! The lady said the warehouse is closed. Now I will have to call at 930a on delivery day hoping it has been scheduled. And waste my only day off stuck at home waiting. Service needs to be better. The prices are comparable but after this experience, I don't think i'll be back. read more
