Muse Paintbar is such a fun place, whether it's a date or an activity with friends. There's painting, drinks, and bites all under one roof. What more could one ask? As I entered the studio, I found a bar counter and a menu for the bites. There are about three rooms for paintings, along with clean washrooms and a hand-washing area. I made the reservation online for my friend and me, where we could choose between different slots and see the painting we'd be working on in advance. They advise arriving a few minutes early to place an order for food and drinks. They also have validated parking spots. I ordered the cheese pizza with hot honey and a strawberry lemonade for myself. The staff is extremely friendly and approachable. They led me to my table, which was nicely set up with a canvas, paint, brushes, water, paper towels, and an apron. Our instructor for the evening was Steve. He took the stage, where he had his empty canvas and paints, along with a finished version of the painting displayed behind him. As we began, I looked at Steve and said, "I am so intimidated, for art isn't in my bones." He replied, "Don't worry, you don't need any experience in painting." And thus began our painting session. With a small group of six people, Steve guided us through every step, from blending colors to different painting strokes. He made the entire experience smooth with his humor, knowledge, and patience. The staff brought the food and drinks to our tables. The bites were extremely good, though I admit it can be challenging to paint and eat at the same time. Steve was kind enough to give us breaks to eat and interact between paintings. The whole session lasted about two hours, but time literally flew. My friend and I enjoyed the entire experience and didn't even realize how therapeutic painting really is! Once we finished, I couldn't believe my own creation; it was far beyond what I thought my artistic abilities allowed. I truly thank the entire Muse Paintbar team and Steve for such a memorable evening. And Steve was absolutely right: you don't need to be an experienced painter, just patience and attentiveness work here!

The spot itself can hold up to about 40 people. It is a little tight but it works. You can bring your own snacks and beverages. There's a table in the front for you to set them and I guess as long as you let everyone know that it's yours no one else will eat it... We just kept it on our own table since we have people that did not make it to class. We started late-about 30 minutes and we ended late. It appeared that we were waiting on a group of about 6 ladies. It gave us time to get our wine and cheese together! The directions that show up online are incorrect. They told us to go to south 9th but the address is actually the one listed on this post. This was a grand opening so maybe that's why. Anyway, great time and I would definitely recommend it!

Um, no...we were all on time so let's get this party started. I don't really care for doing 2 different paintings in one sitting because you have half the class just sitting there waiting. I understand it gives more variety, but it just felt rushed. Overall we had a good time and we are likely to go again but I iust ask to start on time. The folks who are late can just play catch up when they decide to show. ;)

It was a drop in event so you could arrive anytime between 8pm and 11pm. On arrival there were no instructions beyond grab an apron and canvas and sit wherever. If I didn't frequent sip and paint events I would have been completely lost. The canvas designs was cute and there were several adult themed ones for "Freaky Friday". The brushes and paint were definitely low quality and wouldn't mix/ blend well. There were no rags or paper towels however we did receive a few napkins. All of the supplies honestly gave very much Dollar Tree. During the event, the entire studio was illuminated by a red light which was not conducive to a painting experience. You couldn't see the true colors you were using or mixing without utilizing the flashlight from our cellphones. Even still the red looked orange. I'm not sure if the "DJ" was the owner/manager. It seemed they were playing music of a music app but instead of having a playlist he was playing random songs which was not making smooth transitions.

There is not paint inside the water guns, its just water color. And you get the scrappy dollar store water guns. You cant paint with it, it ruins your entire canvas if you do. Its literally just to spray the walls and each other if you want to. Our service was poor, everyone was running around like a chicken with their head cutoff. We showed up for our 6 o'clock class and didnt get painting until close to 6:45 because we were just waiting around for someone to get us started. For what it is, I think it's way too expensive. $45 to paint a canvas in a blacklist setting... wild. The paint and canvas you use probably costs $7, if that.

We looked through the Project Gallery, which had quite a variety of signs to choose from, and each of us selected a different one to make. These were the first signs any of us have ever made. They provided us with all the quality materials, tools, and personal instructions need for each project. The entire staff was personable, friendly, and knowledgeable with the variety of projects we choose from. Emily, was a godsend! She was very patient and detailed in answering our questions. She even assisted us when we doubted our ability. Kathy, the owner, was right there helping as needed while working with another group also. We never felt rushed. We brought a charcuterie tray and drinks with us to nibble and sip on as we worked. Such fun!! Keep in mind when picking projects and setting aside enough time to complete them, that the smaller signs could take an hour, the large ones can take two hours, and the real big ones can take even longer. Plan accordingly. I would definitely return to Hammer and Stain - Mt Juliet for more fun!!!
