I didn't know what to expect and I honestly didn't even look at what that really entailed on the website, so everything was a surprise! There were only two people there (front desk and hair specialist). I'm not sure if it was just because of the time of day/who was there but I didn't get a deep diagnosis or explanation of the type of treatment I would be receiving. I was told my scalp was inflamed (red from being outside earlier in the day) and that there was a lot of build up. If I had dry scalp concerns, etc, I would've wanted more walkthrough on what they recommend and what they were doing to treat it (I was just there to treat myself and didn't have any concerns so it didn't really matter much to me) The actual treatment itself was amazing though! A really nice man gave me numerous shoulder and neck massages throughout the session, and put a lot of pressure on my head to really massage it out. While the products were good, my hair didn't feel as soft as other head spas. However, I loved that they used an oil/serum before blow-drying, which most places skip. I love these scalp spas. They are uber relaxing and you leave with clean, healthier looking hair. Like other scalp spas, they start with looking at the health of your scalp. From there, they recommend the type of treatment for you. Afterwards, you are led to a massage chair that they turn on before washing your hair. Interestingly, I have never had a massage chair clamp down on my arm before. It was as if I stuck my arm into one of those high blood pressure machine at CVS. The water pressure was pretty strong throughout. Water would splash on my face. The lady tending to me was very good at letting me know what she was doing and checking my comfort level throughout. The different aromas like lavender and eucalyptus made the experience relaxing. After washing your hair, you are led to a chair. I got the 90 min treatment and there were different devices used on my hair, even a white helmet to stimulate hair growth. There were also different serums blown and brushed into my hair. What didn't make it a 5-star experience is that I've had better in San Gabriel where the massages and ambiance were better. I was here around 4:30pm and I could hear the cars outside. Also, at the other spa, my hair was so light, silky and soft. This is still a great experience and I would recommend it if you are looking for a relaxing, luxurious experience in the area. read more

I must've fallen asleep at least twice throughout the session, which was great. I somehow got lucky and was assigned to a private room, but most of the massage chairs are out in the main room, divided by curtains. The staff were friendly and service was good. After seeing some hair spa videos on my Facebook and TikTok of course I've been itching to get one of these amazing experiences myself. My bestie and I found a spot last month that we went to which blew our socks off. I loved it so much I'd tell anyone who would listen. My bf was intrigued and since we both love getting massages he said he wanted to try it. Fast forward to today, after a long day of getting stuff done and running around SoCal he decided to surprise me with a head spa experience and said to find one close by. I found Muse, they had appointments for two available, and pricing was the same as the place I went last month so I thought it was fair. Booked the appointments online which was nice. We got to the place about 10 minutes ahead of schedule, the girl at the front is very sweet and apologized that we had to wait, no problem, we were early. A few minutes after the appointment time we were taken back and had the camera show what our scalp looks like. Or was interesting to see and I liked that they took a little longer examining than my first spot I went to. Then you head into a private (curtained off) area where you are given a little wrap towel and you get yourself situated into the massage chair. I have to say the massage chair was totally unnecessary and took away from the experience- it was painful on certain parts and just uncomfortable to lay on. After about 10 minutes I asked for it to be turned off. Another girl that was there at the same time asked for hers to be turned off also. The lady doing my hair was nice enough, she kept asking if what she's doing is ok and even though it wasn't "great" I figured I'd give her the benefit of the doubt because maybe she's new, maybe it will be better soon. At one point she just had the water pouring over my head, maybe like 10 minutes total, she moved my head from back to side to side during that time. Another 10 minutes or so was spent just laying there, maybe there was steam going at this time because a couple quick seconds I felt like there was mist going up my nostrils. Edit: The business sent me a message and said one was a special hair strengthening treatment and another was a mask that needs the time to do its thing. It would have been nice if I was told what was happening instead of leaving me wondering. Once you're done with the hair "spa" part, you go back out to the chairs and they do some stuff like red light therapy and they blow some stuff on your scalp, use a cool massaging brush and blow dry your hair. This is also where the shoulder massage happens at the very end of the appointment. Overall I felt like this was just "we're new and getting our footing" feel from this place, but I asked the girl up front and she said the business has been operating almost a year. My bf was quite displeased with the experience, especially since it cost about $350 between the pricing and 20% tip. He said everything was very rough and he felt like his scalp was getting scraped off. He's not the type to speak up and he wasn't asked if pressure is ok like I was. I think he would have left less if he hadn't asked me before hand and handed me the cash to give them before we even walked in. Btw- the booking online is just a $20 (each) HOLDING fee that's applied to the appointment, they don't change the whole thing. Maybe I read that too quickly, but I assumed it was pay the whole thing as you're booking. I will definitely not be coming back here. I'm most disappointed that my bfs first experience was such a flop, as there are other places that are absolutely amazing. read more

I've been wanting to try a head spa for awhile and my mom introduced me to this place. We made an appointment in advanced and we both got the $138 spa options, which is the second tier. They offer three tiers. They start with checking the health of your scalp, then determine which type of treatment you need. You change out of your top and into a robe, then you sit in a massage chair before they start washing your hair. You get a full body massage from the chair while they're washing your wash. The masseuse even gave me an in person head, shoulder, and upper back massage during the treatment. After washing your hair, they bring you out to a regular salon chair for light therapy and blow dry. It was a relaxing experience and great to experience once in awhile as it is pricey. read more

The first time is was excellent and I felt the ucelyptus, peppermint and other products that were massaged into my scalp. Today was a lot of water put to my scalp with brush strokes, no products added to my scalp or felt through the process. So bummed with this experience that I will not be going back.
