I initially had my instrument sent to another shop for evaluation, but after speaking with Jason…read moreand being told he was interested in taking on the work, I had it shipped back so he could handle the repair. That meant paying additional return shipping out of pocket just to get it to him. Before drop-off, Jason reviewed photos and quoted the job at around $995 with an estimated turnaround time of about 3 weeks. After that, the experience went downhill. From December through April, I had to repeatedly follow up just to get updates. Communication was almost entirely initiated by me. Early on, I was told things were "looking promising" and that he'd be getting to it soon. Weeks turned into months with little to no progress. At one point, he said he should have more time over Spring Break and expected to finish it within a couple of weeks. That did not happen. After months of waiting, I was finally told there had essentially been no progress and that he would not be able to complete the job due to other commitments. So to summarize: * The job was accepted with a ~3 week estimate * The instrument sat there for several months * Communication was inconsistent and mostly one-sided * The work was never completed * I incurred additional shipping costs based on his willingness to take the job That's not how a business should operate. If you take on a job, you should either complete it in a reasonable timeframe or communicate early and clearly if you can't. Letting something sit for months and then backing out is not acceptable. This cost me time and money that I didn't need to lose. I could have left it with the original shop and had the work completed, but instead I trusted this process and ended up back at square one. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this shop to anyone who values reliability, communication, or follow-through.

There was no damage or anything, but it just didn't play right. I brought it to San Antonio so I could noodle around with it in my hotel room and finally decided to find someone to take a look at it. I found Marco on Yelp and the reviews looked good. I met Marco at his shop and pointed out the issues. He quickly identified the problem and gave me a very reasonable quote. When I picked up the guitar, it was perfect. He fixed the problem and gave it a good cleaning and polish. It looks better than it has in a decade. Marco is friendly, provides excellent customer service, has reasonable prices, quick turnaround and is extremely flexible with scheduling. When I come back down here, I'm bringing my old 80's era Strat and have him get it back into shape. I can't recommend Marco highly enough. Do business with him - you won't regret it!

I went to GC to get the Fender Jaguar my father had left me rewired. I was told that their tech…read morecould handle it. If you know the Jaguar, there is a lot going on and not a job for the novice. After about 3 days I was called and was told that they could not figure it out, as signal was not passing through. I was referred to another guitar tech in the area and so I reached out. They called me back and told me that unfortunately, wiring was not their strong suit, but they knew a guy that was the right person for the job. Thus I was referred to Marco. I texted Marco and asked about repairing my Jaguar. He responded right away with photos of other wiring work he had done as well as many other similar fenders he had rebuilt and rewired. I knew I had found the right person. So I met with him at his shop and showed him my Jag. First off he knew what each switch did as well as some subtle tweaks that he could do to the Jag that would make it play even better than stock. Marco had it about 2 days before he started sending me photos and videos of the completed work, as well as one of him playing the Jaguar to demonstrate all the functionalities of the switches, to which I had never been educated on. I told Marco how appreciative I was that he brought new life to my father's guitar. He WAS/IS the right person for the job and I will ALWAYS go to him for any other wiring work. His rates were very fair and the value that I received was exceptional! Thank you Marco! I'll bring you my Ric 360 next!!

Only once can I think of a positive experience which was one I dropped the instrument off for repair about a week and half ago. This was the only time I was not talked down to or made to feel uncomfortable. I've played clarinet for over 20 years...I'm not dumb regarding what I need, etc Today will be my last visit to this store. In early August, we overhauled his clarinet with new pads. My son had some bent keys and things that needed to be addressed recently, but I was surprised to see one of those things was 4 new pads in less than 10 months. I mentioned it to the individual assisting me and he was like no that's normal, etc. He became very condescending towards me. From my experience, that is not normal, so I am within my right to question it. The older gentleman on the back just kind of nodded his head and didn't make any comments. As I was reviewing the receipt with the repairs and examining the instrument, he walked over to the door and stood in a semi confrontational stance and stared at me as if to hurry me up and rush me out of the store. Go to another shop that will appreciate you, your business, and not talk down to you.

I didn't have that much time since my concert was the next Sunday. He said to bring it in and he'd do it right then and would only take about 20 mins. I took it in, he explained what he was doing every step, which was awesome, and although he ran into an issue, and I had to leave it, he was done a couple of hours later, but I was already home so I picked it up the next day. He cleaned it up, along with my case, and it was a joy to just chat with him. Very knowledgeable and personable. I will for sure be back.

They asked if I wanted to drop off my sax to have it repaired or if would like to wait. I had time, so I waited. Although I played music in college (as non-music major) and have friends who know how to repair instruments, I had never seen the process. Beto explained how he was fixing the pads, the springs, the leaks, the motion of the horn. He showed me how he checks each key against the others to make sure that the horn, from a technical standpoint, plays well. I also saw work being done on two trumpets. Rogelio tested my horn, and it played and sounded fantastic. I'm happy with the work they did, and they offer a 90 day guarantee on their work. I look forward to playing on my recently repaired horn.
