That meant paying additional return shipping out of pocket just to get it to him. Before drop-off, Jason reviewed photos and quoted the job at around $995 with an estimated turnaround time of about 3 weeks. After that, the experience went downhill. From December through April, I had to repeatedly follow up just to get updates. Communication was almost entirely initiated by me. Early on, I was told things were "looking promising" and that he'd be getting to it soon. Weeks turned into months with little to no progress. At one point, he said he should have more time over Spring Break and expected to finish it within a couple of weeks. That did not happen. After months of waiting, I was finally told there had essentially been no progress and that he would not be able to complete the job due to other commitments. So to summarize: * The job was accepted with a ~3 week estimate * The instrument sat there for several months * Communication was inconsistent and mostly one-sided * The work was never completed * I incurred additional shipping costs based on his willingness to take the job That's not how a business should operate. If you take on a job, you should either complete it in a reasonable timeframe or communicate early and clearly if you can't. Letting something sit for months and then backing out is not acceptable. This cost me time and money that I didn't need to lose. I could have left it with the original shop and had the work completed, but instead I trusted this process and ended up back at square one. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this shop to anyone who values reliability, communication, or follow-through.

When I picked up the guitar, it was perfect. He fixed the problem and gave it a good cleaning and polish. It looks better than it has in a decade. Marco is friendly, provides excellent customer service, has reasonable prices, quick turnaround and is extremely flexible with scheduling. After about 3 days I was called and was told that they could not figure it out, as signal was not passing through. I was referred to another guitar tech in the area and so I reached out. They called me back and told me that unfortunately, wiring was not their strong suit, but they knew a guy that was the right person for the job. Thus I was referred to Marco. I texted Marco and asked about repairing my Jaguar. He responded right away with photos of other wiring work he had done as well as many other similar fenders he had rebuilt and rewired. I knew I had found the right person. So I met with him at his shop and showed him my Jag. First off he knew what each switch did as well as some subtle tweaks that he could do to the Jag that would make it play even better than stock. Marco had it about 2 days before he started sending me photos and videos of the completed work, as well as one of him playing the Jaguar to demonstrate all the functionalities of the switches, to which I had never been educated on. I told Marco how appreciative I was that he brought new life to my father's guitar. He WAS/IS the right person for the job and I will ALWAYS go to him for any other wiring work. My son had some bent keys and things that needed to be addressed recently, but I was surprised to see one of those things was 4 new pads in less than 10 months. From my experience, that is not normal, so I am within my right to question it. The older gentleman on the back just kind of nodded his head and didn't make any comments. As I was reviewing the receipt with the repairs and examining the instrument, he walked over to the door and stood in a semi confrontational stance and stared at me as if to hurry me up and rush me out of the store.
