We gave all of our vendors a timeline for the day and Bob was great to keep everything on track. Making announcements when people needed to sit, when dinner would be served, and anything we threw at him. He considered where the buffet was going to be, where the stage was going to be - and then even sent me notes on planning. He was even able to provide the generator needed to maintain the electricity levels needed to cook the meal. The night of the event, I arrived a few hours early, as we do to start preparing the food. Norman had not only already arrived and set up, and was testing lights and sounds - he had showed up earlier that week to set up the stage and space for our event. This led to a seamless evening - as everything had already been put where it needed to be put. I've been the vendor at weddings that the set up is still happening when we're arriving to start cooking the food - and it's chaos. Not with Norman! For the lighting and sound of the evening - it was amazing. On the side, I also work in many local theatre groups - and his efforts were among the best I've seen. With great touches, downloaded additions, and his attention to detail - each number by each performer had it's own unique lighting and backdrop - and the music had absolutely zero hitches. We've all been to a theatre show, and had the sound go out - not with "Light and Sound" - the music was flawless at every stage of the night! While we struggled a bit with catering and who would do our hair and make up, when it came to our choice of DJ, there was only 1 choice! Months beforehand, Mo met with us and meticulously went over many of the details that one doesn't even envision; procession music (Music to walk down the aisle to? Oh yeah!), music to walk back to (ABBA? Yes we did!) We had music to walk into the reception to, toasts, first dance, and all the traditional things this non-traditional couple hadn't thought about, but Mo really made it the most classy, fun, funky, and joyful experience I could ask for! There are few things that could make or break a wedding day: 1) The Bride not showing up 2) The videographer or photographer having car troubles and needs to be picked up 10 minutes before ceremony starts. 3) The DJ missing important cues for music at critical times in the ceremony or during reception. 4) Your brother in law, holding your cake in the backseat, could, in a lurch, impale the cake with 3 fingers trying to save it from impacting on the backseat of the jeep. Poor Bobby's blazer! Fortunately, only #2 and #4 happened and it actually made for a more memorable day full of laughter. I knew #3 was a forgone conclusion that I didn't have to worry about, and I was right! (As for #1, we got 2 brides for the price of 1, and that's worked out pretty sweet.) She's also one of my favorite club style DJ's, as she knows her way around a turntable and has all the classics of Motown, R&B, Old style classic love songs from the 50's and 60's, 70's and 80's, as well as being up on all the modern hits. I know I will always find my Curtis Mayfield fix with Mo, who has been spinning since the 60's. A Class Act like her is not just hard to find, it's impossible to find these days.
