It has two (yes, two) playgrounds, two (yes, again two) swing sets, a half and full basketball court (with bleachers), a small soccer field (for kids or a NFL Blitz type adult game) with nets included, a pavilion and a small baseball field (incorporated with the soccer field). What makes all this even better is that they include a port-o-potty (no running somewhere else to use the restroom while spending the day with the kids). The only downside I can see is the parking situation (you have to park on the street, so parking is somewhat limited). But overall, if you're looking for a great outdoor place to hang out, or to play a basketball game then this is the perfect park for you.

Our absolute favorite is the mini merry-go-round that is right by the entrance to the park. It tilts a bit and that makes it spin even faster. Not many parks offer this and we loved it! They also have bleachers and plenty of benches! There is also a beautiful walking trail for those looking to work-out or run while their children play! My only downsides are that there are no bathrooms. They were torn down in 2009. There is a disgusting porta-a-potty that I would never use. Also, like the previous poster said, there are NO parking spaces! You must park on the street and risk getting hit by a car while getting our of your vehicle. Since the initial find, I have been back several times to rest, relax, and to get away from the daily grind of life and reality. I've been here a handful of times with my sweet baby and we've walked all around the property. Each amenity is well designed, maintained, and landscaped. I like coming here because it's clean and close, and while it's never felt overcrowded it's still busy enough to feel safe. Here's what you'll find: BMX Trail League Fields (baseball, soccer) Practice Fields Concessions (during certain events) Natural Area Playgrounds Picnic Areas with picnic tables Grills Restrooms 2 Pavilions (large, concrete, covered, capacity of 40 each) The playgrounds and picnic tables have plenty of shade, which is a necessity. The playgrounds are pretty fun -- I'd have loved them as a kid with all the bridges, monkey bars, and swings. There's even a giant swing, this oversized red plastic seat that little kids all squeeze on together. It's also fun for family selfie photo sessions. Come here for a leisurely park visit. Bring lunch and a blanket and a book. Maybe a baby.

If I were rating this based on the ball fields, it would more than likely be five stars. But, being a mom of kids not yet in sports, I came for the playground, and that is how I'll rate the park. It's an okay playground. A little small. It was big enough for my 5 kids because they were the only ones there, but I imagine on a day where sports are going on at the fields, the playground would quickly become uncomfortably crowded. My kids loved the woodsy theme - log slides, large mushrooms to climb on, doors in trees - and it was fun to watch their imaginations run wild. It's a great start for pretend play. Unfortunately, the playground has NO SHADE. No shade over the play structure, no shade over the benches. With the Texas sun and a metal slide, this is not a good combination! I'm no arborist, so I couldn't tell you if the small trees around the perimeter of the playground will one day be huge shade trees or not, but I'd venture to guess my kids will be long grown before that happens. There is a shaded seating area outside of the playground where parents of older kids could sit, but it's a little too far away for most to feel comfortable leaving a toddler, I would think. The bathrooms are clean and nicer than what the typical park has to offer. All in all, North Park doesn't stand out against the other playgrounds in the area. Bicentennial Park is just around the corner and is a much better destination for kids to burn energy and moms to catch a break.
