From the moment I stepped inside, they wanted to make sure that I was comfortable and satisfied. The student stylist that I had was very sweet. She was very thoughtful and carefully explained what was going to happen. She waited for her instructor to join us and once she did I then proceeded to explain what I was looking for. I brought a bunch of pics with me of what I wanted and also of what I did not want. They listened to me explain that I wanted a more of an ashey blonde with highlights look. I wanted to stay away from chestnut, honey or auburn tones and add to the fact that I am a naturally dark brunette. I presented them, with no doubt, a series of challenges but they both rose to the challenge. I ended up being at Beau Monde for over five hours but I did have over 100 foils in my hair! They were both very on top of it and and at times both of these ladies were working on me. The end result is something that I have always dreamed about. Im not sure if this has something to do with the location centre (Xstream learning centre). Day 1 and 2 the kids got to do some circuit building with the basic (very basic) Littlebits kid. It was boring and a repeat for my son and he spent most time playing Minecraft on the computer! Day 3 and 4 was supposed to be programming basics but instead they were playing with 3D pens. Not sure how much of engineering skill was used in the 3D drawings. My 9 yo treated it like a game! I wish we had known this before enrolling! Dont think we would ever want to go back. Wish PDX had better STEM camps for kids who really want to do something.

At my first appointment, we confirmed my two small tattoos directly next to one another would be classified and priced as a single "small" session at $200, and my next visit was rebooked at that same classification with the front desk while Averie was present. During my second session, the treatment went ahead as normal and Averie and I chatted throughout the treatment for ~30 minutes with no mention of any price change. Only after it was complete did the front desk tell me I'd be charged for a "medium" instead, bringing the total to $300. When I pushed back, the explanation I got from Averie felt jumbled and inconsistent. I paid the difference anyway because I'd already received the treatment and didn't feel I had a real choice. Deciding pricing after a service is done, when the client has no ability to say no, isn't something I can overlook, especially with a licensed provider where trust matters. I'm not sure if I'll be booking future sessions here. EDIT: The owner has reached out to rectify the situation, so I'll adjust the stars rating but leaving this up in case there are others who run into this same issue for transparency.

The studio itself is beautiful, welcoming, and clearly very professionally run. They offer a wide range of services, including microneedling, laser treatments, tattoo removal, and more, and the entire space has a polished, high-end feel without being intimidating. Angela's treatment room is lovely and comfortable, and she has a way of making the whole experience feel relaxed while still being extremely precise and professional. I am a little crazy when it comes to Halloween. It takes a week to decorate the house and we have a…read morehalloween buffet every year. So, when my husband, told me the West Coast Haunters were having a convention at the Double Tree Hilton in Portland, I was amped to put it mildly. The convention included a friday night bus tour of Scream haunted house. Which had sold out by the time I got to the website, but I emailed them, and they could not have been nicer about helping me secure tickets for the friday night tour, which included 3 full size tour buses. The tour was supposed to be lights off haunted tour and then lights on. The Scream tour was really the warehouse, due to the change of location. It was a learning experience, so I was okay with it, but there were other haunters not impressed with the fact that it was just looking at their storage facility when the description was two full haunted house tours. We went to Vancouver, Washington for the next haunted house and they put on a dinner catered by Q'doba. Then they let us go through the haunted house lights off and then lights on. This was a really good haunted house, it took awhile to get through it. Since these conventions are usually focused on professional haunted house owners, serious home haunters and FX makeup people, it is really informative. It is hard to be afraid going through the houses anymore, since I am now a halloween junkie looking for the next best scare but I can appreciate when it is done well. We are looking to open a haunted house in the next couple of years and made some great connections with owners willing to share tips and have us come and check their stuff out. So the networking aspect of this convention is priceless. This convention is still coming together, so looking past the growing pains, as they put it to us at the ticket booth, I think they have done a great job. The school for the Deaf, has done a great job, as well, with the entire thing. If you go to the website you can read the history of haunt and the School for the Deaf, it is a really cool. We did win $100 raffle draw for a year of the Haunt Cast, so that was a great way to end the weekend. The vendors there were all pretty nice for the most part. I initially chose Daela because I had an excellent experience with their laser treatments. Before…read morethis most recent visit, I had actually received injectable treatments there on two separate occasions with no noticeable results. However, because I was so impressed with the laser side of the practice, I wanted all of my cosmetic treatments in one place. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, believing perhaps the previous injectables had simply been an isolated experience. Unfortunately, after my third injectable treatment, I once again saw absolutely no visible improvement. From the moment I arrived, the appointment felt rushed rather than welcoming. No numbing cream was offered before the procedure, making the injections more uncomfortable than necessary. Upon asking for some numbing cream, while I was speaking, a foam-like substance was placed on my lips that went into my mouth, leaving an unpleasant taste and numbing the inside of my whole mouth. The entire appointment lasted only about 15 minutes, leaving me questioning how thoroughly the treatment had been performed. Most concerning was the outcome. There was absolutely no visible change whatsoever in the specific areas I requested to be treated, not even a subtle improvement. After three injectable appointments with no noticeable results, I felt compelled to share my honest experience and initially left a one-star review. Shortly afterward, Lina, one of the owners, reached out to discuss my concerns. My husband spoke on my behalf. During that conversation, I genuinely felt she heard my concerns. She offered complimentary laser treatments as a goodwill gesture, and I appreciated what I believed was a sincere effort to make things right. Because I felt my concerns had been acknowledged, I voluntarily removed my original one star review and replaced it with a four-star review. I did this because I wanted my review to reflect not only my disappointing injectable experience, but also the fact that I believed the business cared enough to address it. Unfortunately, that goodwill did not last. My husband then began receiving repeated harassing text messages telling him that I would not be allowed to use the complimentary laser treatments unless I changed my review again, this time to a perfect five-star review. He was told my account would be flagged and the complimentary treatments would not be honored until I rewrote the review to their satisfaction. That crossed a line for me. Reviews should reflect a customer's genuine experience, not be influenced by pressure or conditioned on receiving services. I could not honestly write a five-star review because it simply was not true. Money has never been the issue. I am happy to pay for excellent cosmetic treatments and exceptional results. What I cannot accept is paying for injectable treatments that produced no visible improvement and then feeling pressured to change my honest review in exchange for services that had already been offered as a gesture of goodwill. A medical spa should be a place where you feel pampered, cared for, respected, and confident in the treatments you receive. Instead, I found myself having to defend my experience, explain why I was disappointed despite seeing no results, and ultimately defend my right to leave an honest review. I appreciate that the owner initially reached out and attempted to resolve the situation. However, the subsequent pressure to change my review fundamentally changed how I viewed the entire experience. For that reason, this review reflects my experience in its entirety. I will be reporting Daela to the Oregon Medical board that regulates medical spas. I have decided to take my business elsewhere. There are many excellent providers for injectables and laser treatments, and I believe every patient deserves quality results, respectful treatment, and the freedom to leave an honest review without feeling pressured or manipulated.

They also give you a book written by Bruce Milleto. The barista portion was 100% hands on and you learn by doing and doing and doing. They have over 10 commercial espresso machines and more than enough milk to practice latter art. They are very easy going with the equipment and are not anal at all. They are very user friendly. I had some knowledge on how to pull shots and steaming milk but they really opened my eyes and taught me knew information.They also teach you other methods of brewing coffee. The class is led by Josh and man he is such a cool ass dude. Very friendly and outgoing and patient. I can tell he really loves what he does. Great guy with a lot of soul. Matt Milleto who is the vice president is such a down to earth guy very easy going and mellow. They both gave good hospitality to the students and provided us with really good food as well. They are both very welcoming and make you feel at home from day one. The school is also very intimate and the classes stay small.

I've looked into current offerings and have been in touch with many recent grads as well. I also align strongly with Yelp intended ratings and 3 stars is literally an OK rating so I don't hand out 4's and 5's to just anyone. If I could give Epicodus a 3.5 I probably would because it is OK but not something I would say is really GOOD or for everyone. Here's the Cliff's notes version: Yes code school will get to into tech, no it will not make you a developer or super hireable. Epicodus offers an ok middle-range priced education with some support but you have to be a self-motivated person and understand that tech is not hiring Bootcamp grads like they did in 2015 so be prepared to do a lot of work on your studies and portfolio in order to get a job. The points below cover: 1. my background and scenario 2. curriculum 3. internship 4. jobs 5. $$ I had an education and career before tech but needed a shift. I did a lot of self-study for years and in the end, needed a space and people to hold me accountable and Epicodus did that for me. I couldn't afford to jump all in right away so I did the intro night course and while that was financially a good route I still recommend doing all the courses as the full-time day package if you can swing it. I saved for years to do it and you should know it is VERY difficult to work while in this program as it takes most hours of your life for 6 months. In school, the courses have since been rewritten and that is GOOD as they were still fairly rough 5 years into the company's history. Now if you're really self-driven you COULD do all of the coursework yourself as it's online but having pairing buddies and a class you go with daily IS a huge help to staying accountable AND more similar to most jobs you will be going into. Teachers are underpaid and often former students, that is fine but I think for what you are paying it's difficult not to have a better education from the top. The internship was the real seller for me but the reality is it's often a hit or miss if you get something worth your education and if you've already worked in offices or on teams this section is not as important to you. What tech really needs is folks who are both technical AND good with other humans so if you need to learn that and this is early in your journey the school setting and internship may be helpful to you. They try to bring speakers in to show you that there are many more directions in the industry than just to become a developer and in all honesty, I think this education makes you a perfect fit for Support roles in highly technical companies which gives you a foot in the door. We all have different skillsets and they focus very heavily on becoming a developer so coming out of school I had little knowledge of ALL the amazing roles you could go into from engineering to product management, support or people managers! You have to do a lot of that research and learning on your own, be proactive in your journey. Epicodus is a tough one financially, it's cheaper than a lot of the top tier schools but you don't get the small class numbers and more hands-on education as those higher-cost options yet it's more than the cheap ones where you do it all yourself. So if you just need some accountability and a team to learn with this could be a good option for you. If you're super self-motivated the cheaper options will get you the same education for less and no difference in your attractiveness to companies looking to hire you. Some side notes... the facilities are great, clean, large and lots of computers. I appreciate the space they have created for you to learn especially if you don't have the tech yourself. I'm very happy to see they have jumped on board with the pay assistance models as an option for under or unemployed students looking to make the shift. So in the end, yes Epicodus gave me a few tools to get a job in tech and I was lucky to get a great gig right off the bat but quickly learned I was unprepared for the role. This has led to a few shifts and some better fits but I am not your average bootcamper, I am high human skills and low tech skills. People management is likely where I fit best into the industry and that is the goal. I encourage you to do your research and assess what is best for you financially and educationally and pick whatever school fits your end goals.
