However, after spending over an hour in the car to try to get here from my aunt's house in Greenville, I was rudely yelled at by the owner when entering the store. "We close in 6 minutes!!!" This was the beginning of the end for me... I live in Houston so I only get to come here when I'm in town visiting family or if I make a special trip to come stock up on fabric. I happened to be in town the weekend of Easter and tried to come here on the Friday before Easter, only to find a handwritten sign on the door that they were closed (for Good Friday) and would be open again the next day. That was a bummer, but I asked my husband if we could try to come back on Saturday as I bought fabric from here previously and I needed more of it. My family in the area lives in Greenville, so it was quite a drive to get here from their house. I saw here on Yelp that they close at 4:30pm, so we rushed and I ended up walking in 6 minutes to 4pm. How do I know this? Because as soon as I walked in, the owner screamed "we close in 6 minutes!!!" at me. I responded, "online says 4:30pm and I'm from out of town". She rudely replied "well online is wrong - we've tried to fix it but it's wrong". I rushed to grab my fabric and with 2 minutes left to 4pm, she yelled from the front "are you ready to check out?!" They had already rushed everyone else (all 2 other people) out the door and I was the only one left. Listen, I get that it was a Saturday and you're trying to go home....but you weren't open the day before due to a holiday and you now have a customer in front of you who's ready to spend money and also told you that she's in from out of town... To be treated so rudely, by the OWNER, nonetheless, is absolutely unacceptable. Next time I'm in town, I'm sticking to spending my money at the other 3 fabric warehouses next door as I will NOT be coming back to this place.

Great prices... clean store... bad customer service…read more Today WOULD have been my third visit, except I was RUSHED out the door and told they were closed.. 10 minutes before they actually closed. Then the rude lady who pushed me out the door felt the need to correct me and say it was 5 minutes until closing, and that they didn't have any customers so they were closing early.. It wouldn't be a big deal but I sat in over an hour of traffic to get there and really needed 20 yards of fabric to finish a project that is to install tomorrow. Awful customer service from this particular lady.

It's a smallish space, but well-curated. Some items were not priced; I asked one staff member the price; then another wanted to charge me nearly twice the amount at the register... This kind of dissimulation, intentional or not, is distasteful. Each item should be priced so this doesn't happen. It also saves staff being asked questions.

They make you do threading three times so you can remember well. The staff was friendly enough until I changed my mind about getting a couple of chairs recovered. I signed the purchase order and a few days later, decided that I wanted to use the fabric originally planned to recover the chairs for drapes instead. I explained that I just wanted to order some different fabric for the chairs from them and use my own upholster. They totally refused to refund the labor costs even though the new fabric and not even been purchased for the chairs. This is very confusing. If you don't want to use their upholstery labor, then why should you have to pay for it if you change your mind and want to use your own sources for the labor? I had to buy additional fabric from them to get the chairs recovered in order not to lose the much inflated price they charge for labor. I think they could easily have refunded the labor costs since that service was no longer desired. Now I am looking at a 7 week delay in getting the finished chairs returned. In addition I have to bring the chairs to the store in order to dodge another charge. I could have gotten them turned around in 3 weeks for a much more reasonable price. I was NOT told this was the policy when I originally made arrangements. I feel very ripped off and will never do business with Calico Corners ever again! Please spare yourself some grief and do not use Calico Corners! I am now very concerned that the workmanship will not be up to par even after a long wait! This was a very expensive mistake! The new location is perfect you feel like I've found my sewing and embroidery community. The staff is amazing and knowledgeable I explained the bird nesting issues, and how I've definitely stitch over 20,000 stitches past needed service. I was informed by stitches with felt fabric and using can air I was pushing all that debris inside the machine impacting it he lubricant. I'm grateful to know my machine is in great hands. See you in 3 weeks. Overall great location, service, and value.

They still have a lot of China made decor, ironically this time for the July 4th holiday...there is something that strikes me as wrong about that, is that just me? The service is good at these places though, they had a large staff who was stocking the shelves. I was asked several times by them if they could assist me with anything. The prices seem high at first, but almost everything has sale tags on them for like 30-50% off.
