Red Rose Milk Tea no topping is my favorite drink here. Consistently amazing, delicious, perfect. Sooooo good. I love that this location has an easy large free parking lot. This location in Shoreline took a while to reach even in Sunday traffic; I-5 N traffic has been extending wait times for everyone near the Ship Canal Bridge especially during the weekends when everyone's out. Getting here will be a relief since you don't have to worry about finding parking in their spacious parking lot, which is shared with many other surrounding businesses. Inside is pretty casual with several tables to sit and hang around, along with one long table where you'll be close to some foliage as my friends and I were. Menu has a variety of items including milk tea, coffee, smoothies and fresh milk. Speciality and possibly seasonal drinks were also advertised around the counter and near the front. Staff at the front take your order and ask about ice and sweetness levels if the drink you order calls for that. There is also a ramen bar to the right-hand side of the front counter you can use after purchasing instant ramen at said front counter. I got myself the Mustache milk tea with 50% sweetness and ice, with regular boba. This is very standard for milk tea but it's also the perfect baseline for their other drinks. The tea is floral and the milk added does not detract from the drink. 50% sweetness is perfect for this drink, as any sweeter would have been too much for me. My friends enjoyed their other drinks, though they all got stuff from various parts of the menu. Pretty decent and nice place to chill, hangout and have some good boba! I love Mustache! I've been going to their original location on Millet Speedway for years, so I had to check out their new spot. The aesthetic here is different but beautiful, with lots of plants, their signature color, and a clean, modern design. I ordered the Salted Egg Yolk Milk Tea, and it was delicious. It's definitely an acquired taste but so rich and unique. This location also has a ramen bar, which is a nice addition, though they don't offer the hole-punch loyalty cards like the original location where you can earn a free drink after a certain number of purchases. Came during October and they had some really nice decorations for Halloween. I didn't know what to get but the "soursop" looked good - turns out it's a soursop roasted oolong. The tea flavor was good but the soursop wasn't evident in the drink as it was just soursop pieces in the drink. The soursop tasted a little on the bad side so I didn't finish my drink. Their drinks are also a little bit on the pricey end. Staff were super friendly and what caught my eye was a self serve and see prep ramen station. I love this place and love their guava smoothie, it's my favorite. They have some really nice Asian drinks like guava and soursop. My guava smoothie with boba (yes I love my fruity drink with boba it's so much fun) so tasty and refreshing, and you can adjust the sugar level. For me 50% sugar is perfect. They have such a big menu that every time I walk in it feels like I'm making a life choice. The staff is always friendly and happy to answer questions. I like the cantalope green tea. I did not specify sweetness and yet it was just right. The decor in here is nice and it's a good place to get some work done if you bring headphones. They also have a DIY ramen bar. My only suggestion with the ramen bar is that it would be nice if they had a simple machine that dispensed hot water. The way it works is that there's a device dedicated to setting up your ramen. It's kind of hard to explain. I'd say this location isn't super different from the original. Both locations are in a plaza with ample parking. The Shoreline location feels slightly roomier and less tight. Key difference here is the offering of instant ramen in store. Mustache has a solid drink selection but prices always feel like they're on the higher end. Drinks are also on the sweeter end as a whole. Doesn't help that their sugar level offerings are 0%, 50%, and 100% which is limited compared to other boba spots. For me, 25-30% is my preferred sweet spot so I'm slightly pushed to make a decision here. Wintermelon Roasted Oolong - 冬瓜茶 one of my go-to refreshers in Taiwan always hits the spot. Naturally sweet and light. No different here and comes with some toppings, I believe chia seeds and grass jelly. The oolong however isn't too strong. read more

I got the Thai green milk tea, which I've only seen at one other place that sells boba in WA (which ironically is also in shoreline), so I had to try it. I'm a fan! The strawberry milk tea had a good balanced flavor. The strawberry, milk & tea were not overpowering each other which is nice. The tea was also brewed well, it didn't have a strong flavor which could've overshadowed the strawberry. The boba was good too, just a tad too soft for my liking but overall, it had a good bite/chew. I got 50% sugar, but it was still on the sweeter side for me. Next time if I get a drink with boba, I'll get 0% sugar since the boba is already sweet. Thanks to Marie B. giving me the heads up about Mustache Milk Tea's soft opening! I visited on the last day to take advantage of their BOGO promotion and it was well worth the drive during rush hour. Mustache Milk Tea, 50% Sweet, 50% Ice w/ Boba ($7.25) - The tea flavor isn't that noticeable. It kind of sits pleasantly in the background, but it does go up the nostrils a bit as part of the aftertaste. The sweetness at half is okay, but it's kind of a harsher kind of sweetness that really gets in the throat. The drink for some reason tastes a little fruity, possibly from the sweetener used? It's not as fruity as 1st generation boba shops (e.g. the powder and syrup places), but it's much fruitier than most newer places that emphasize the tea. Half ice is basically the perfect level for a cool almost-spring day. For the boba - Mustache is way too stingy with the amount of boba they give. A third of the way into the drink and all the boba was gone. This might be due to the long lines and the employees trying ration the boba out. Hopefully the quantity given improves in the future. In terms of texture and taste, the boba has a nice sweetness level and a good bounce, with a bit of a firmer chew than perfection. Some small pieces of the boba flake off and stick onto the whole pearls, creating small globules. The pearls are pretty solid overall. Milk Tea Rating: 4/5 Boba Rating: 4.5/5 Mango Osmanthus, 50% Sweet, 50% Ice w/ Boba (Complimentary during the soft opening, normally $7.75) - This is a very refreshing drink which tastes exactly as described - fruity mango paired with a flowery osmanthus. It's probably syrup based, but the taste is very pleasant without being too harsh or sharp. The tea flavor comes through very well with a bit of natural tea astringency. It's pretty refreshing Drink Rating: 4/5 I did notice teaspresso machines on the counter, but I didn't see them use the machines for any drinks. I guess they batch brew the tea during the opening during the busy opening? I have to say, this was a very well run soft opening. There were tons of people in line when we arrived at 4PM, but all the employees seemed to know what needed to be done. The line was dealt with in an extremely efficient manner, with it only taking maybe 5 minutes from door to counter, and another 5 minutes for our drinks to come out. I live in Shoreline, but I've been going to Mustache in North Lynnwood for a while now so I'm really happy they open in my area. My favorite is the Avocado Ube with 0% sugar! Today, I tried the Avocado Matcha, and I loved it. So refreshing! It was really busy today, with a long queue that took about 25 minutes to get my drink, but the staff remained polite and friendly. The shop has nice decor, making the wait more enjoyable. One small feedback: the door chime is a bit too loud, and with so many people coming in and out, it can get a little distracting. With the condensed milk, it tasted like Vietnamese coffee, and it was good!
