Ants in my sprite after 2 sips I see little bugs floating at the top. I open the lid and there's ants all inside the cup

STAY AWAY!!!! I never been here before and I'll never go back after this. I was willing to give a small business a try and support but this is exactly why I don't come close to mom and pop shops. Nasty inside. Very dirty and the cups are all covered with bugs flying around them. The sever who took my order was very nice but the food not so much. The straw dispenser was dirty and the straws come without a wrapper. I got my food anxious to try it but when parked up home I see little black dot in my cup and I popped the top off to see ants in the cup from the bottom floating up

A very quick experience.. less than 15 minutes. The place is small and tight. With some bar seating and they also have outdoor space. The menu is straightforward; service was quick and good. We ordered a Chicago dog with fries and a polish. It was really good and I'll definitely would go back to try other items.

Mustard's Last Stand is a classic hot dog stand. They have a variety of fast food classics like hot dogs, burgers, fries, milkshakes. The inside isn't very big but it's fun and fast. There are some places to sit but more to wait. I ordered a classic Chicago dog with everything and fries and a shake. The food was good and it was about 16.00 for everything. I'm glad I tried it. I liked the dog but I've had better fries. The milkshake was made by hand which was fun. Glad I got to try this Evanston staple. I think it might be more fun in the summer!

Next stop on my tour of Chicago's recommended hot dogs! Absolutely hit the spot. I got the Chicago Jumbo Hot Dog charred with no onions, no relish, and extra pickle. It was delicious and the fries were also great. Makes sense why it was recommended.

I rate Mustards cheeseburger with onions, mustard, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and hot peppers among the finest du monde!

Another old school hotdog stand shop, great place to grab food before a graduation at NorthWestern. Hotdogs are good, but would definitely pass on the Mac n cheese. It's small inside so it can get crowded easily, they have seating outside.

"Mustards Last Stand" cool hot dog stand in Evanston adjacent to the soon to be demolished Ryan Field. I have been going past this location for decades & finally decided to check it out. Kind of a cool old place that's been around since 1969. Boy did I take my time getting here. The restaurant is really dated & has a ton of old photos of different sports figures of by gone era (kind of like me lol ). It was kind of cool to finally stop in and share in the moment. I ordered a hot dog but not just any hot dog a Vienna Beef dog w/everything except relish. You can't go wron w/a Vienna Beef hot dog in my eyes. It was good hot dog but nothing that jumped out at me

Cool. I have seen these in years

I have wanted to try this place out for a while. This is exactly what you think of when you hear "Mustards last stand". This institution has been these for 54 years and continues to pull in people from all ages and backgrounds. The ambiance is very... no frills, get your food, and move on. The candy and small toys machine take you back to a day where they were more commonplace. The signs are backlit, black letter, paper in cellophane, and poster board. No digital signage here. The food is your basic diner food. I order the #4 special which was a double cheeseburger, fries, and a medium drink for $14.99. It was delivered fast, hot, and in a nice basic paper bag. I noticed they have corn dogs as well, so I am going to need to go back for that. The burger was exactly what you would expect for a grill burger. Not a griddles burger, the grates on the grill seared the pattern to give you that char you would expect. The fries are shoestring, and the oil they are cooked in brought forth a flavor that you can tell included the other foods cooked in the fryer. This is not the place to go if you are gluten free. Overall, I liked it. I will be going back.

great place! i recently moved around this area and i immediately fell in love with this place. the workers are friendly, the atmosphere has a 70s-80s type of vibe, and i be eating tf out their hot dogs in less than 40 seconds.

Perfect spot for classic Chicago fare. Everything about the experience was quintessential Chicago!! Italian beef was dipped and perfectly prepared. My wife got the Chicago Dog and it was also excellent. Fries were hot. Ambience was what you'd expect and what is required IMO.

Authentic Chicago-style hot dogs with good fries. The Burgers are just okay. But over all still a good place to get a hot dog.

My usual spots are Roma's and Jay's, and I'll take Little Island's beef all day over those two. It's roasted in-house (like any proper beef should be) and less dry than you'll find at a bunch of the more well-known joints. Good bread and giardiniera as well. If the Evanston location raises an eyebrow, know that this is an old-school beef, burger and dog joint that would fit in in any Chicago neighborhood. The charburgers are standard charburgers--totally fine, but I make the journey for the outstanding beef. You'll also always find the same friendly guy manning the grill and register (owner, I think), and not much else (if any) staff. I like a place that's completely consistent in familiarity, customer experience, quality. It also may be the most inexpensive restaurant in Evanston. While beef prices have skyrocketed in recent years (an equal-sized Roma's beef is about $4 more), you get one of the best and tastiest beefs in Chicagoland here for under $8 (as of this writing). Their giardiniera cheese fries (with Merkt's--i.e., the creme de la creme of cheese-fry cheese) were also featured in Chicago mag as one of the "Nine Best Ways to Experience Giardiniera"--although I have yet to try those...

We got a copious amount of fries. The prices are fair/cheap for what you're getting. You wouldn't get the same amount of food at Superdawg for that price. There's about 12 seating spots available inside and about 15 outside. There aren't a lot of parking spots around the building, but there's probably street parking you can utilize nearby. Theres also no restroom so make sure you have hand sanitizer with you. Looking through other's reviews and pictures, I'm confident that the man who took my order is the same man everyone else is taking about and he is absolutely so sweet alongside the woman who was there too. I wish them continued business success at this quaint little joint.

We live just a mile away from Superdawg and just went here with our 4-year-old son, who calls it "hot dogs on the roof." Whenever I'm hungry for a Chicago dog and delicious fries, I immediately head to Superdawg to satisfy my craving. There is no other place like it, and it's a true Chicago establishment. I like that there are options for where you can eat. You can eat in your car and have the car hop bring you food. You can eat outside at the picnic tables. Or you can order inside and eat in their dining area. I also just found out that they provide catering! Superdawg will always hold a special place in my heart, and I hope that it remains open for generations to come.

There were two dozen stalls in which you could pull in your vehicle and use an intercom box with the menu printed on the side to transmit your order. A worker would then bring the food/drink to your parking space and use a handheld device to swipe your credit card. Alternatively, you could do what I did which was park and then walk up to a service window and order from there. Adjacent to the service window was a door that led to a room with countertop seating which served as a dine-in area. There were also a few canopied tables on the sidewalk at the edge of the parking lot. Their Chicago-style hot dogs were the featured products, however most of the menu was made up of other fare like fish/shrimp sandwiches, burgers, grilled cheese, chicken tenders, french fries, shakes, malts, sundaes, cones, etc. The price for the namesake Superdawg was now a whopping $9.30! I ordered one of those that consisted of a cardboard box packed with a poppy seed bun containing a pure beef hot dog dressed with all the trimmings. Those ingredients were golden mustard, tangy piccalilli, a kosher dill pickle, chopped Spanish onions and a hot pepper. Included in the box was Superfries which were extra crispy crinkle cut french fries. I also purchased a regular size Mellow Vanilla Supershake. I took a seat at a countertop inside the dine-in area which had only customer when I walked in. As I opened my box, it was packed so tightly that you couldn't even tell there was a hot dog inside (see my photo). The Superfries lined the top while the pickle and sport peppers also surrounded the poppy seed bun. I finished the fries first that I felt were overdone. The hot dog was normal size with a good snap to the frank. The neon green relish was unique as the bright color stood out. For a hot dog and a measly amount of fries, the cost felt high in my opinion. That being said, I didn't try a similar combo at any other spots around town for comparison. The vanilla milkshake was thick and creamy and the best part of my order. I gave a three star rating for my dining experience at Superdawg.

I have driven by the ginormous hot dog on a carving fork numerous times, and finally made it a point to stop in. The vibe inside is old school. It reminds me of the counter service places of decades ago, not that I was alive. The same goes for the no-nonsense service, the analog menu, and little tickets with your order number. Don't misunderstand, the service, while efficient, was perfectly polite. And the upholstery and other furnishings are in tiptop shape. Everything is also very clean. Further, unlike many old school type places, they do accept credit cards. The Polish sausage was okay. I don't believe this is supposed to be a revolutionary, mind-blowing product, so no worries there. The only quibble I have is that the moisture caused it to fall apart easily, quickly making it a fork-and-knife affair. Where it comes to the Chicago dog, this one was great! Not only was it technically perfect and well-balanced, it also had that characteristic snap that few places have been able to deliver on. Only as a matter of personal preference I would've liked a touch more celery salt, but that's exclusively a 'me' thing. This one did not at all fall apart, even though it was the second one I ate, Finally, I want to award points for the value. While the Polish is a little bit up there, the hotdog is served at a terrific price, seemingly beaten out only by Costco! While Wolfy's is a little out of the way to take out-of-town visitors to, if it is along the way, you can be more than sure we'd be stopping in.
