I've been coming here for several months and they're just simply the best! I can't believe such a perfect place exists - fantastic service, beautiful building, quality drinks and pastries that never disappoint. I can't rave about this place enough. Housed in a cute building with a nice big outdoor seating area, a nice relaxing place for an afternoon cup of coffee in Berkeley. My husband had an iced mocha, but my choice of the orange blossom latte clearly had him envious. The orange blossom latte was the best cup of coffee I've had since I can remember. Amazing spot for specialty coffee! Owner/staff are incredibly nice and super passionate about coffee. They roast their own beans fresh every Tuesday and rotate beans in and out according to seasonality. You can buy beans to take home and they taste incredible (they run out of their light roast beans though for take home). The pour-overs and espressos taste very well made and you can really taste the different notes they highlight. Definitely try their "fluffy" drink too! read more

My partner and I just happened upon this spectacular Tudor style cottage with an alluring aroma of fresh pastries and ground coffee wafting from the entrance. The gentle ambient music calms and welcomes those waiting in the queue. There is a clear intention with every aspect of preparation in this space, from the decor to the organization and flow with taking orders and those picking up. After placing my order of the seasonal special, Orange Blossom Latte, I grabbed a seat to sit back and observe the harmonious motions of the owner and her two employees buzz around each other behind the counter preparing each order with meticulous attention to detail. To say the Orange Blossom Latte was "made with care" is understated, but rather this beautifully orchestrated business is masterful in their craft. read more

I live right around the block from MY Coffee but only went for the first time this morning for a caffeine fix after a Trader Joe's run. To be honest, I've always been hesitant to try the cafe because their outdoor signage never appealed to me. But wow, I've been missing out all this time! I ordered an oat milk latte. For $6, it's definitely pricey but worth it for a creamy, caffeinated indulgence. Yay for oat milk lattes that use Oatly! Once inside, you can tell that the owners/baristas take pride in the coffee craft. The space is also unique and charming with high ceilings and the option to sit outside under the sun or under a covered outdoor area. I'll be back! read more

This is my go-to coffee shop, first for the people, and second, for the coffee (but they go hand in hand). Their coffee is the highest quality, richest, and smoothest I've ever had. Their pour overs are a miraculous meeting of the passion the owners have for coffee and the meticulously, hand-sorted beans they treat with utmost care. I've never seen, felt, smelled, or tasted anything like what they do here. I come here as often as I can, especially on days when I want to get off on the right foot. :) read more

Best espresso and pour over drinks hands down in the Berkeley area -- perhaps in all of the Bay Area. I've had A LOT of coffee over my 7 years living in the Bay, and this place won over my taste buds and my heart. I've tried their latte, cappuccino, pour overs, and seasonal drinks, and they are all such amazing quality, no fancy flavors or sugars needed, no bitter lingering aftertaste ever. They have great home-made pastries too! Rare these days to find a place that roasts their own coffee and makes their own delicious croissants, waffles, and more. And the staff is so nice, they want you to enjoy the experience of making and drinking coffee as much as they do. The owner is a certified barista who has done her research to make sure everything is quality. They remember their regular customers (i.e. me and half of the neighbor's residents). It doesn't get any better than this. So glad to have tried their life changing latte. read more

I've lived in the area for awhile and seen a couple of businesses go in and out of this building. I'm so glad MY Coffee Roastery is here and seems to be doing well. The folks are very friendly, the coffee is good (I'm not a coffee connoisseur by any stretch, but it's very smooth and enjoyable), and the pastries are also excellent. It's my favorite place to read and study, and I miss being able to sit out on the patio there. I love that they've put up a guard to protect themselves and customers from COVID-19. Overall, love this place and can't wait to study there when it's safe to go out again. read more

Nicely designed, tranquil spot in the middle of a busy traffic area. It was a bit chilly, so we sat inside, but the outside seating would be lovely in warmer weather. Friendly, efficient service. Most importantly, the coffee is fabulous. No cortado or decaf listed on the menu, but they made a cortado for me and a decaf cap for my husband. Both first rate. read more

I ordered the mocha iced coffee and it was not up to par. I told the female employee that I did not like my iced mocha coffee (which costed me $5.50 and was in a very small cup) can I please have it remade. I only tried a very small amount and I told them I can give it back. The employee said "NO! We will not make you another coffee just deal with it." I just wasted $5.50 and I threw my coffee away. This is not good customer service. I will make sure that my friends and family who live in Berkeley know about THE Coffee Roastery's terrible customer service. Also, I will make sure I post on my social media warning people about the terrible customer service. Coffee shops should always want to please the customer. If I'm spending $5.50 on a coffee I expect it to be very tasty and how I want it. The customer should always come first and if the customer doesn't like their coffee the coffee should be remade that is a general tip at any coffee shop. I am a restaurant manager and I have to remake dishes for customers all the time we do anything to please the customer and that's how any business should be. read more

The owners are super kind and enthusiastic. The building is very cute and the inside has a nice warm feel. There is an enclosed outdoor patio which helps "shield" you from the traffic on MLK and has plenty of space. The pour over, americano, and latte were all delicious!
